Far Cry 4
Great Graphics, Great Story, No Let Down
The story of Ajay Ghale is one that has everything: sadness, fear, anger, and happiness. Without spoiling anything, the story takes Ajay to Kyrat, a mystifying and seemingly endless environment of dense jungles and an array of creative and unique animals that makes it come to life. Ajay's prime objective is to scatter his mother's ashes in the Royalist controlled country where her former husband, and Ajay's father, formed a rebellion called the Golden Path. The Golden Path's fighting with the Royalist Army lasts up to the present day when Ajay visits and the game begins. Similar to Far Cry 3 there are multiple experiences in which you end up intoxicated by hallucinogenic drugs. The graphics are also similar to Far Cry 3, being clear and crisp from up close and astoundingly breathtaking from afar. Without boring y'all, Far Cry 4 is a great game with a solid plot, stunning graphics, and great acting from the cast. This is a great free roam game and can provide you with hours of entertainment whether it be main campaign, side missions, or simply exploring.
Amazing, long awaited, bout time.
This is hands down one of the best games I've played in years. I used to be a big gamer, but now with crazy busy hours at work, I have very little time, so I'm pretty picky about which games I'll waste time on. I typically find a game I Deeply enjoy and thoroughly look forward to playing, maybe once or twice a year. I got this on xbox one, and I highly recommend it on the current gen, not past gen (360). Out of PS4 and xbox one, i would recommend PS4 mainly cause i saw that it comes with 10 codes that allow your friends to play co op with you without having to own the game. Not sure how that works, I don't know if they still get to level up, gain skills, get loot/money/craft items, but that's a nice bonus.
This hands down falls into my realm of games. Some things that always help a game in my opinion;
--when it has a very open world (not just a set path/set areas per mission)
--when it has a lot of customizing (mainly weapons and gear, but cosmetics don't hurt either)
--when it has a lot of options (not just stuck on the main quest, but multiple side quests/challenges/etc)
--when it has extensive co-op.
This game covers almost all of these. Fair warning I will be comparing this to Farcry 3 a lot, so minor spoilers might ensue.
Compared to Farcry 3, FC4 has an open world with no load in-between areas. Fc3 you did have to load into many buildings/rooms. This one you don't have to load into nearly as many, and those that you do, you will load very quickly. In FC3 it was mostly wide flat areas, with a few small hills, and handful of high up point prompting wingsuit/glider usage. In FC4 there is a lot more elevation varients, allowing much more wing suit and glider opportunities. So much so, that i think FC3 had maybe 5-10 glider locations, FC4 has DOZENS in just the beginning area. The map is also considerably different. FC3 was a group of island in the ocean. FC4 is more a giant basin at the tops of some mountains, so the map boundaries are giant mountain caps, rather than ocean. This area still has many rivers including water animals (crocs, "river monsters" etc, but it's much more land this time around. I haven't fully explored the entire map yet, but so far I don't see any major body of water aside from a few lakes/ponds.
FC4 is comparable to FC3 in hunting. You find most things in specific areas. But there are odd animals that can appear anywhere and don't have a specific spawn location. Such as honeybadgers, eagles, etc. The loot is also very similar to FC3. Including crates/chests that you just open and give you some random useless item (like bubble gum) plus cash. The biggest difference, is how much more variety of creatures there are this time around, especially larger ones. Such as elephants, Rhino's, etc. I think the water buffalos were the biggest animals that had the most bullet resistance in FC3. The Rhino's in FC4 take about double the hits and are one hit kill type enemies.
Weapons are similar to FC3, but more extensive. If I remember correctly FC3 had I think about 12 of the unique/legendary weapons, FC4 has maybe 30-40. Guns are still similar set ups though. Usually allowed 1 of 3 attachments at a time (sight, extended mag, etc)
HANDS DOWN, the BEST part of FARCRY 4, is the co-op. In FC3 it was basically challenge modes only. You join co op, and attack a camp, once you complete it, co op is over. In FC4, it's literally play the free open world, with no limits, with a friend. You can hunt together, explore together, race, do side missions, challenge missions, etc. Best way to fully describe it, is to give you the story of my first co op experience in FC4. My friend and I joined. We went hunting together for a few items to make ammo pouches, weapon holsters, etc out of. We hunted Rhino's, Elephants, "monster fish", pigs, etc. Eventually we played a hunting mission to find the larger "monster fish". This mission was very unique. It took us to an area where there is a grenade launcher, and a "gyro-copter". So we got in the gyro copter together, and with nade launchers, hovered over the river till we found this 10' long fish, and bombarded it with grenades until it was dead. What a way to fish! One thing to note is that looting, you each get a copy of the item/money. But hunting, only the one that collects gets the pelt/scales/feathers or whatever. So say you kill 4 Rhino's together. You can take two each to stay fair. Or one guy can take all 4. So it really helps to play with someone you know and can communicate with. Playing with random people, don't be suprised if/when they just take everything for themselves, even though you helped get said things. Selfish nerds with no friends you know? Anyways back to my story, from there we went on to take a few towers, gathered a lot of pelts, we even had one point where we ran into a road block, killed 8 enemies. Then an enemy messenger came to the convoy, killed him. Then a enemy courier came, killed him too. We took a few outposts, explored some more, 5 hours later we called it.
This is one of the few games that will give you plenty of random and new experiences. I've played maybe 8 hours of this game, and it says I am "11%" through it. Now note, Only maybe 3 hours of that is actual main story missions. So if you do the math, the main story is probably 20-30 ish hours long. But with so much side quests, missions, variety, etc, I'd bet you could spend a good 60+ in this game, and still have a lot of fun. Consider co op with a friend into that, and you are probably looking at more towards 100 hours. With most games now days running at 60$ for maybe 20 hours tops, it's always a crowned jewel when you get what you pay for.
Comparing to FC3, FC4's world is so much better in detail. It's actually the first, and so far only forest game that has more detail then Skyrim. That's right, i said that world detail is better then Skyrim. Bout time a game finally beat Skyrim at something. Now to clarify, the game doesn't have nearly as many items to get as Skyrim, but the forest looks more realistic. I mean the amount of grass, detail on the trees, the way they sway in the wind, etc, it's as close to realistic as I've ever seen in a video game. Also Skyrim items would render maybe 200 feet away tops. Including enemies. They would appear/dissapear at the roughly 200 foot mark. On FC4, you can see trees from miles away. As far as animals go, it's pretty much as far as the eye can see, but the eye can only see so far. Out of the camera and rifles I have so far, i think x10 is the longest zoom I have. Some higher end snipers might have larger scopes, but haven't unlocked them yet. My point is I've made a kill at what seems like 200 yards (600 feet), it's impressive for an open world type game.
As for the multiplayer, I haven't played it yet. I bet it could be fun, but i really don't know. I remember FC3 was fun but got old after maybe 5 hours. But the real gem of this game is the co op.
I highly recommend this game. In 2014 the only other games i've enjoyed are Battlefield 4, COD AW (just the campaign) and sunset overdrive (though it was far too short). Played dozens of others but got bored of them very quickly.
The best game of 2014 maybe 2015.
Basically best game anyone could get don't hesitate to get it only thing that stinks is that once you do everything which took me about 48 hours it kind of is boring but every once and a while your like hmm maybe ill go do this overall 10 but replay ability is little low graphics amazing and so is there radio station hilarious
Its pretty dank
Its a really good game, but similar to Farcry 3. The environment is great. I like the elephants that you can ride and trample people, they took away the nice sunsets. I miss Vas
Looks Amazing!! Why I got Xbox One!!
Love this series and they get better and better, this should be on your MUST BUY list for any Xbox One owner!!
Far cry 4 looks like one of the hottest games this year. I loved the other ones and this one looks far superior I can't wait.
A game of the year contender
This game is amazing. Even though there are some main story issues there is a lot of stuff that makes up for it and makes this a great game. The graphics are great, the gameplay is incredible and there is a vast amount of stuff to do. The side missions in this game will make it fun for hours. The co op just adds on to that to makes this a real fun experience.
One of the best games I've ever played. This is a must get. Great story...just a fantastic game! You won't be disappointed.
Ton of fun!
This is my favorite Xbox one game so far! its a blast.I love that its a open world game but sometimes it gets distracting i mean i will set a way point for a campaign mission and i will be on my way and i see a honey badger run by which i would need for crafting so i will chase after it kill it get the skin then on my way back i run into a skirmish (random firefights between the enemy any your friendly troops) and i join in shoot everyone with my driller machine gun take the enemy's car and drive down the road to run into a elephant and of course jump on its back and smash cars with it :3 so far i have spent 12 hours into the game and am only 15% done with the game
Totally Awesom It's like GTA V and CoD had a baby.
My title is the best way to describe it. Great game and a must have. If Grand Theft Auto V and Call of Duty had a baby. It would be this game. Tons of stuff to do. Mission packed.
