Dragon Age Inquisition Inquisitor's Edition
Do Not Get
Ladies and Gentlemen, this is not worth the money. The game itself is good, but the rest is not. First of all, there was several broken pieces in the statues, the coins, and the box itself! Secondly, there was pieces missing! A wingtip from the bird one of the lockpick's tools from what I can tell. Lastly, the box is so cheap in design that it fell apart once it was taken out of the box. Now, I understand it might have been the shipping that caused the damage-but that still doesn't explain the missing pieces.
To those on the fence about the value of getting the Inquisitor's Edition or not, I took the time to search up a rough estimate of all the goodies inside:
*Deluxe Edition of Game- $70
*TriForce Box- $60; Quality products- The faux skin, silk, the gold leaf, metal fittings, hinges, lock, and interior wood (nothing really to compare against, just rough prices for materials off of the internet)
*Journal- $20-$80: Cheap to quality leather
*Taro Cards- $10
*Ink pot and Quill- maybe $8
*Figurines- $20: $5 each or so
*Lockpick set- $10: real at about $20
*Coins- $2: whatever right?
*Plus TBA add ons- $?
Grand Total: $205-$260
These are just rough estimates. The true value is determined by the individual collector, for that is who this edition is for. Are all the trinkets worth the price? For many, no. Others, yes.
For me? I eagerly await my delivery.
Not worth the money
When I opened the box none of the items were where they were supposed to be. They were in a heap of a mess, and one of the items was broken. The "quill" is a cheap feather you can get at an craft store, and this one didn't have the wing tip nor any way of obtaining ink. It needs to have the bottom cut and a pen tip added. The statues are poorly made plastic, one of which is broken. Hidden compartment? That's a joke. It was wide open and I could get what I needed out of there easily. The metal case is nice, but why there are two CD/DVD holders in it is beyond me. The game is one disc and the soundtrack is digital. I was in a panic when I opened it, thinking something was missing. Is something missing? The inkpot is a joke. You can get the same exact item for $1 at a craft or dollar store. It's a glass bottle with a cork. Thankfully no ink. Everything was a messy jumbled heap when I opened the box so that would have likely leaked over everything. The leather journal's nice, and the paper can be easily removed.
My wife is relatively happy seeing as the game's for her, and she's a hardcore fan. I'm paint miniatures and plan on repainting the plastic map pieces for her. She has actual quill pens and ink she can use for the journal. The map is a nice bonus, and she plans on getting it framed. The coins felt like the paint was fresh, so once they're less sticky she'll be drilling a hole in the top of them to use as pendants for jewelry she makes. The tarot cards are awesome according to her (she uses tarot cards so I can't really judge them). People saying they're fake need to realize that a regular deck of cards can be used as tarot.
I kind of regret spending this much money, but it was the only way to get some of the items she wants, such as the tarot deck. After everything is repainted and glued back together (the bird was detached from its base) it'll be fine. The badge is hilarious though. If you put to together you can make a bra they are that large.
Back to the classics
Dragon Age Origins was a beautiful game with well done characters, story line, scenery, and overall a legendary story like feel. Dragon Age 2 was a complete let down as it concentrated on a character, whose personality and fate seemed to be set in stone. It had terribly done characters, and the scenery made me want to throw up. Possibly the worst game I ever bought. Talk of a new DA made me skeptical but seeing the previews, it is clear that this game is going to be very similar to DA Origins in quality. The classic story of a hero who will rise and lead a united front to victory. Sounds pretty darn legendary to me! Granted DA 2 was about a hero, but it was more of a Batman-Gotham City relationship, with Gotham being a real ugly city. Very excited for this game, as there will be much exploration, and character depth, although I am wary of the dwarf from DA 2. This game has great potential, and it seems like it will deliver.
I can't wait. As long as I can take my saves from the previous Xbox360 games into the new Xbox One game. I'm going to discern that before I make my decision.
for 170 better be worth it
