Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Couch Co-Op! The amount of couch co-op games are dwindling, but this game is a shining beacon of hope for those of us who do not care much for playing with strangers online. The only point I have negative to say is a minor one: the cut scenes are drawn, not animated (but still very well drawn). Despite that, the music and atmospheres are beautiful. Character-wise, you don't have to limit yourself in terms of being only warrior, mage, etc, because you combine abilities as you see fit. This game is difficult at the beginning and will take some time to understand the mechanics of battle and the intricate story lines, but it is well worth your time. My husband and I played (and struggled!) through it once, got the hang of it, then replayed again. We loved it even more the second time through. I picked this up by chance, simply because I was out looking for any Xbox One co-op, and man did I luck out! It is most definitely one of the best games I have played in a long time. I very highly recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Challenging RPG This game plays like a paper and pen RPG of old. It is very challenging with strong elements of strategy (turn-base/Action Points) as it took me a while to understand the game dynamics and types of characters/builds you can create at the start of the game. There are no "set" builds, you can build your character(s) as you play/level up. You are thrown rather quickly (and per chance - play the game) into the main story arc of the game which reminds me something out of Never Ending Story (quite surprising and nostalgic) . Side quests are interwoven into the main story of the game - they push you forward. When you get to the first town, you are free to explore and choose how you go about unfolding the plot and game. Interactions with the world and NPCs around you have consequences real consequences. With that said, I made several mistakes by accident when getting used to the different radial menus, actions on an Xbox One controller. I am sure PC has more freedom with the keyboard, and over time my control of the controller and menus got better. Dialogue is both cheesy and refreshing with the voice acting superb. Nothing spectacular of the top down world perspective in terms of graphics, but it is pretty to look at and easy to spot your team when you roam the world. There is no set day/night cycle, but the environment appears to change depending on what section of the map you are located at. I give this a solid 8. I have yet to try co-op, but you can see some live footage on Twitch if you are wondering more about that. This game grew on me the longer I played with how in-depth it is. I don't care for the crafting system, but it's meant for you to explore and experiment with. I've created some pretty useful items and weapons. You can build things with better recipes. Obviously this is not Fallout 4 or even Witcher 3, but this game stands on its own as "original" and is worth your time, especially if you want a challenging game that rewards you with sweet victory of a well executed encounter.
