Call of Duty: Ghosts Prestige Edition
Beware upgrading from any special edition to XB1
Be very aware of trying to upgrade to the Xbox One Edition of Ghosts if you own either the Hardened Edition or the Prestige Edition. Activision will only upgrade the regular edition of Ghosts to the Xbox one edition. Activision will only send out coupons to those who are Pro members and bought the Regular edition by email. Now some stores may still do it either way if Activision will not. This is just to ensure that they still get the business from all the customer base and also make sure no one is denied their copy. Activision did state that you were going to be able to upgrade from 360 to Xbox One for only an additional 10 dollars right? Never did they specify that you could only upgrade with the regular edition.
This Might Be Good
While Call of Duty might be a commercial success, the fact is that the games in the past hadn't been really good. It was cool when it started, playing out battles from WWII, then they did Modern Warfare, which was cool in the first one, but it was a bit on the Hollywood action movie side. World at War was ok, just more WWII. Then the series began a downhill slide. MW2 continued the Hollywood action film trend, Black Ops did a classic Vietnam movie, MW3 did another action film theme, then Black Ops II did as well. In truth, the campaign writing was never original, and MW2 and MW3 looked exactly the same. The whole series is probably the best example of a franchise getting so big, that no matter what the content is people will still buy it. They knew that multiplayer was popular, so they just slapped the campaigns together as fast as possible, and that was that. Ghosts is interesting though, because its story is complex and different. It actually feels like they hired some writers to actually write a story that might be compelling. Maybe it's because of the next gen launch that they really wanted to have a game that people could remember, or maybe it's because a game can never be remembered based on multiplayer, and maybe the guys at Infinity Ward wanted to be remembered for something more than a massive crowd of people that spend most of their time playing a game online. I for one, can't wait to see the full campaign. However, there is no reason to buy a $200 game just for some extra goodies. Just get hardened edition, it's less ridiculous.
Will be better than Black Ops 2
If you like COD 4 and MW2 you will like ghost. Since Black Ops 2 was the worst COD of all time, this will redeem the COD name. People come back year after year, to enjoy what makes COD good. It is FUN to play that is what Battlefield will never get. If you like to go all out in COD editions get this item like I am. Why get this one you say, well it is only for the hardcore COD fans. That do not care about price they just they want the highest edition. Remember the Care package edition for $150 this is the same situation.
As someone who has bought every COD Prestige
I am skipping on this one and just doing the Hardened edition. The RC car was bad, had no range and the camera was horrible, So were the night vision goggles and the Quad copter is pretty much un-flyable. I expect the same Chinese quality from this next Prestige release too. Save your money and get the Hardened edition. The best part are the metal collector cases and pre-paying for the map packs.
Not on the Xbox One?
I saw the Multiplayer release on thursday and went to the game stop where i have my xbox one preordered and they told me that they didn't have the prestige edition for the One and that they most likely wouldn't be getting it. I was wondering if that has happened to anyone else?
Same as The Hardened Except with a Camera
This looks really cool, just the hardened edition was amazing and now this. First of all it has a reasonable price because that camera looks like it costs around $150. It's a cool edition if you saw the Call of Duty Ghosts multiplayer reveal you will know its water proof and shock proof but not idiot proof.
cod gHOST EDITION
Seems kind of reasonable dont you think? the game with the download content.. and then a camera... with the 4GB SD CARD AND BATTERIES. the camera alone would be at least 80 bucks the least. and you get all these other little collection of things not many other people will get.. so if you really want to have the case the web cam.. n the camera seems like a good deal.. and im sure the camera will be MODIFIED WITH COD ART DESIGN
Response to Cynico
The price of this edition is actually reasonable because if you think about it the game alone is $60 plus all 4 map packs is another $60 so thats $120 just for those 2 items. So for the people planning on putting a lot of time into this game will most likely get all 4 map packs. Also the other items in the prestige edition equal up to and if not more than $80. So im pretty sure that its worth the $200. Not saying that its a must buy but there are a lot of collectors out there who would love to have this.
I'll admit I don't like Call of Duty in the slightest so I know it might sound like I'm saying this because I hate CoD, but that's not the reason. This "Prestige Edition" is not worth $200 at all. All of the items included in the edition in no way add up to $200, there are games that have special editions for $200 because they're giving you about 10 tangible items/objects, not two tangible items that are the size of a pair of sunglasses that have fairly vague meaning and connection to the game. I'm giving this warning to CoD fanboys, don't throw your money away on this worthless and unfair "special edition" I almost bought the Watch Dogs special edition a couple of days ago because I wanted to get the game and the mask, but I then realized that that was the only reason I wanted to get the special edition, I nearly wasted $130 one a special edition for two items and one of those items was the game itself. I'm just trying to keep people from wasting $200 on worthless and meaningless items.
