Product Details:

A tremendous band of badass heroes fight to protect the universe's very last star from a mysterious evil in this next-gen shooter by the creators of Borderlands. To defend it, you'll need to utilize every type of character and weapon you've ever imagined -- from cyborg hawkmen to samurai vampires to mini-gun wielding man-mountains. Slash and parry, run and gun, cast and dash, or simply obliterate foes all while building and growing your personal team of heroes. Choose your hero and fight alone or co-operatively alongside friends in story missions, or battle against them in fast-paced competitive multiplayer matches.

Features:

  • Story Mode: Battleborn's Story Mode is a narrative experience that can be played entirely singleplayer and is even better when it's played cooperatively with friends.
  • Multiplayer: Battleborn's team-based competitive multiplayer action can be experienced by up to 10 players online in 5v5 matches, and includes three distinct multiplayer modes.
    • Incursion: Teams of heroes must defend their base from waves of AI-controlled minions while working together alongside their own minions to destroy their opponent's base.
    • Capture: Teams of heroes face off in a fast-paced death match and must capture and hold objectives on the map to win.
    • Meltdown: Teams of heroes must guide their minions as they march to their death at the center of the map. Points are scored for every minion who throws themselves into the incinerator, and the team with the most points wins.
  • Persistent Progression System: All experience points, whether earned through playing Battleborn's Story Mode or Competitive Multiplayer modes, contribute to leveling up individual Character Rank, as well as player profile Command Rank.
    • Character Rank: Each hero can permanently rank up from 1 to 10 outside of missions and matches, allowing players to swap out augments in their helix skill tree, as well as unlock skins.
    • Command Rank: Players can rank up their own player profile, unlocking badges and titles to impress friends, and loot that can be used to benefit any hero the player chooses to command.
  • Factions: The last star, Solus, is the only beacon of hope for the universe's surviving factions.
    • The Peacekeepers are sworn protectors of Solus
    • The Eldrid are preservers of the natural order of the universe
    • The Rogues are mercenaries only concerned with their own survival
    • The Last Light Consortium (LLC) are war profiteers, exploiting others for their own gain
    • The Jennerit Empire rule others by force, valuing power above all else
  • Battleborn Heroes: Battleborn has a deep roster of 25 playable heroes and no two are the same. Every hero has their own personality and comes equipped with their own unique weapons and powers.
  • Helix System: Battleborn's accelerated character growth system allows players to level-up a character from 1 to 10 and fully experience each hero's unique weapons and powers in a single story mission or multiplayer match.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very monotonous, very overdesigned = not very good Loved Borderlands. #2 was one of the best games I have yet to play. So trying Batttleborn was a no brainer but I was supremely dissapointed after finishing the story mode and online play. The game is so over-designed it just looks like a hot mess most of the time. Any of the distinct character or level design is lost with the completely over designed graphics. Want to see how it's done, yeah an Overwatch comparison, but the only one. After a short time the battles become very monotonous. Just a continuous stream of something to shoot, a lot. It is the same game type again and again. Protect this thing or escort this thing and that's it. Over and over. The online play isn't really any better. Although Gear is supposed to be working on the match making equality it really is unbalanced right now. Not only the with the characters but the matchmaking itself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Game Everyone comparing this to Overwatch clearly hasn't played the game. Overwatch has 3 modes, no option to pick one, imbalanced heros, and activision money driving sales. Battleborn has a massively replayable campaign, with incentives to play missions on almost every hero, 3 diverse game modes online that you can actually select a lobby from like it is 2016, and loveable characters and voice acting. The campaign is on par with the glory days of halo 2, fun and fast paced, yet you can up the difficulty through advanced to match the difficulty of legendary mode, and even play on hardcore. The pvp is some of the most challenging available, as the game punishes run and gun players who are used to one vs one conflicts in games like call of duty, in favor of actually working as a team for once. Can't recommend the game enough, as it provided everything I thought Overwatch would have standard as staples of the shooter genre.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this game! When I first learned about this game through various interviews and gameplay videos I had my concerns. The multiple characters, the skill trees resetting after missions, etc. After playing the beta and owning the game it has become one of my favorite games to date. The things I was initially concerned about actually turn out to be some of my favorite aspects of the game. For instance the 25 characters. Just when I think I have found my favorite character, I try a new one and end up loving them just as much as the last if not more. The re settable helix skill tree is actually quite nice. It gives you the opportunity to experience the character in new ways. Helps you to find which play style with the character works best for you. While some people might say they grow bored with the game, I would disagree. Each time you play a new character it feels likes you are experiencing the game for the first time all over again. The characters themselves are all unique and interesting in their own ways. There's a character for everyone. Whether you prefer being a healer, tank or sniper there is someone for you. If you're like me and liked to stick to one type of role in most games, this game can help you branch out and try a character or role type that you wouldn't have tried otherwise. Another thing I was worried about was solo play. The majority of the time, I am playing my games by myself. I was worried with the amount of characters that this game would be too challenging for me. While some of the missions are challenging, its not at all like what I was worried about. I successfully finished all missions by myself. Its the perfect balance. It is not too easy and it is not too hard. This game also has plenty of humor. The story is very intriguing. Completing lore challenges for your favorite character is exciting as it provides insight into their backgrounds. While I do have my complaints, they are very minimal and the game has just come out so the complaints I have may be fixed in the future. The opening sequence to the missions aren't really skippable and it takes a while to earn significant amounts of in game credit (or the games currency). Those are really my only complaints at the moment. Overall I would recommend this game to casual or hardcore gamers. There is something in this game for everyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's No Overwatch Had great potential, but it's unlucky that a similar style game like Overwatch is releasing. There's not much of a story, and pvp is pretty dull.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Its a normal game I was really excited for this game but now that I have it there are some big flaws. First flaw is there isn't much of a story mode/missions. The second flaw is its gets really repetitive quickly. Now some positives, one would be the game play is really good even thought its a different art style its still beautifully made. Now the other positive for this game there are a lot of different character to choose from. Once you keep leveling your character up you even get more unlock-able abilities. The PVP part of the game is decent or i would say normal. It can be fun but its to bland. I would recommend the game because its something thats fun for awhile. Also its a good game to play if your waiting for another game to come out its passes the time along.
