I don't get why game makers can't get the alien franchise right! It seems every attempt fails in one way or another. As for this latest entry it falls flat in many ways. First the graphics are just plain ordinary, definitely not up to par with a next gen game. Next the game play is clunky. The character moves like she is in quicksand and the weapons are not smooth and easy to handle. Last I found it very frustrating that an alien game features long stretches with no aliens! The very first hour or so of the game you never even see an alien. I'm all for building up the suspense but come on. Bottom line I played for about 3 hours and gave up. Boring, repetitive and extremely slow paced. It is in no way a shooter but rather a crouch and hide game. A waste of money at full price. I would pass on buying it completely but at minimum wait for the price to go way down.

I just got this game the other day and it has been fantastic!! The graphics and sound on this game are crazy amazing. SOUND: Amazing, you can just feel your heart racing when you hear the alien around you or running through the vents above you. GRAPHICS: Crazy amazing, never seen anything like it!!! This is probably the game that is for anyone that loves games that give a good thrill. The aliens movement pattern are almost completely random. They are nothing like Call of Duty. Call of Dutys' movements of the AI are in a complete pattern, in Alien: Isolation it depends on what the player does. I loved it overall, It uses A LOT of stealth, so if you like running around, you will not like this game. Also this game has an AMAZING story line. If you buy this game. you've spent your money well!!!!!!!!

I've only played the game for about six to seven hours (xboxone), so I can only give you my opinion, so far. My first impressions of the game so far is great! The game captures the atmosphere of the first alien movie. The sound is perfect, on certain areas I felt unnerved by the thought of what might be coming. This is not an action or FPS game, it is, so far, a survival horror, so don't expect to run though this game. I have the Kinect on, controlling my head movements while I'm hiding or leaning, which surprisingly adds to the suspense. I did turn the Kinect sound option off, this lets the sound in the room effect the game. I don't want to give away details, but if you are a fan of the movie alien, you won't be disappointed, as of yet, I'm not. My recommendations are to be in a quiet dark room to play this game.

I enjoyed ever second of this game's 22 hour story. The graphics ate stunning, definitely for next gen. The sounds is clear and you feel like you really are in the game. The buildup to the Alien is done fantastically and I found myself holding my breath every time I saw it. It is absolutely terrifying. This Alien game finally lives up to the franchise that started it all, and gives several subtle nods to the original Ridley Scott movie. The game is very long, and gets a little dull for a bit, but it immediately picks right back up. When you aren't wetting your pants hiding from the Alien, you have other survivors and androids gone haywire to worry about. The crafting system is phenomenal, and the story line keeps you interested through the entire game. Fantastic.

I totally forgot I had this game. I bought a bunch of games around the same time and forgot I had this. This game is awesome. I love the Alien franchise and finally a game does it justice. The last time I played the game was on a level I got too stressed out on because of the Alien. Thats how it should be. It's Alien. Come on. This isn't some bush-league, "scary game". Its Alien. Classic Alien. How its supposed to be done. Graphics and controls are perfect if it matters or anyone cares. The game is too awesome.

In my opinion, I think that gamers today are dying for a good scary game and this might be the one to really kick off the new gen. Looking at these other reviewers I've only become concerned at the hit/miss factor considering many have bought every alien title previous to this one. With all of that being said, this will be my first alien game in the series. From what I've seen in the previews the actual work put behind it from a gamers perspective, this game is looking like it will be not only scary, but fun because it IS scary. Just do not cheat and leave the brightness of the screen up to really enjoy the game. Leave the lights off and get those headsets out to really hear and feel the sounds as they ripple through you while you creep around trying not to die (though I am certain you will haha). Between this and Evil Within both releasing very close to each other, I personally have grown more to these scary type games that are scary to play first time and on hard difficulty rather than something as lame as the newest first person multiplayer shooter aka Call of Duty. I plan on getting both and streaming them live too because who doesn't want to see a grown man jump over being frightened?

This is not a game I would play again but definitely one I would recommend a friend to buy. After already knowing the story it loses its appeal for the first time around is very exciting thrilling and scary. I would definitely tell others to buy a copy of this game likely preowned, but still play it.

Creative Assembly did what every Alien Fan wanted, made a game that didn't suck. -PROS- * Beautiful Music that makes your goosebumps stand on the back of your Neck. *The graphics are breathtaking and the lighting in the dark hallways are truly next Gen. *Alien does not follow any kind of path is 100% random so every play through feels Different. -12 to 16 hours worth of gameplay. -CONS- *The game crashed and froze 4 times. *No Auto Saves, It's super frustrating when you forget to save and you end up redoing 15 minute sections over. *the voice and lip syncing do match up were a little off. *During certain levels there is game slow down when to much is happening on the screen.

When I first played the game it was amazing, hiding in lockers scared for my life but after awhile it lost it's shine. While I am a fan of the series, after a while the fear dies down, your no longer afraid of using guns, and the game-play becomes a bit tedious after your second to third play-through. That being said the first play through is an amazing experience, definitely something to jump start the series after the failure of Aliens: Colonial Marines. For anyone who hasn't bought the game but wants to, I recommend waiting for the game to be in the $40-$30 price range.
Rated 9 out of 10 by colonialmarine Excellent!!!
After the spit in the face that Colonial Marines was, this game was a welcome addition to the Alien franchise. The limited soundtrack, unlimited hostiles, and very scarce weaponry provide an amazing Alien experience. Rather than wasting our time and insulting gamers with repetitive jump scares, the game manages to unnerve you and gets into your head. The ending leaves some to be desired but all in all its a great game with a very long inciting story. My number one suggestion, for full effect play in the dark.
