Xbox One Charge Station
So after seeing all of these negative reviews I just had to speak up. I got my charging base the day after my console and haven't had a single issue with it. I have a Day One copy of the Xbox One and my charging base and batteries still work after a year with no problems.
Charges ok, poor design
The price isn't bad and it charges the batteries well.
The design does not allow for accessories, such as headset adapters, to be plugged into the controller while it is charging.
Would also be nice if there were a way to charge a battery without it being inserted into a controller.
Would have purchased the Energizer charger.
This is going to be great!
I had one of these with the 360 and I know it will be great. I wont be spending 50 on two play and charge kits. It comes with two batteries and from the 360 version I would get around 8 hours of play time per battery. So if one dies I will just pull the battery from the other one and use it. No need for other batteries or the charge kits. Plus the indicator lights are always great, letting you know when they are ready to go. I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone who plays lots like I do. Great product and glad to see it is back.
Poor quality/doesn't last long before breaking
So I have had my charger for less than three months, I play occasionally however the charger dock on the front no longer works or lights up. Its out of the 30 day warranty so I'm basically on the hook for finding a better replacement charger. I had previously owned the two controller dock/recharge pack for my xbox 360 and that one worked great. However this new one for the xbox one didn't last long, didn't work well and on top of that the rechargeable battery pack design is poor and I would attribute it to it not lasting long. Overall I would give this 3 out of 10 and would recommend that you look into buying other options before this one!
Holds controllers, doesn't do much else.
I have the Nyko charging base for the Xbox 360 and I love the thing, so I'm especially disappointed that the charging base for the Xbox One fails so miserably at it's only job: Charging. The Nyko charging base comes with two rechargeable batteries that fit securely in the controller, but in order to charge the battery you need to take off the battery door before you set it on the base, which increases the likely hood that the battery door will get lost. Aside from that, the way the batteries lie in the controller leads to the battery not actually resting on the charging contacts. This was not a problem with the 360 base, but here you have to make sure the controller is placed perfectly in the base, and then it's not guaranteed that the batteries will actually charge, as the charging lights are very unresponsive. I plan on exchanging my Nyko charging base for a different manufacturer's model.
The charge base is very poorly designed.
I attempted to work with the charge base for over 30 minutes and only became more frustrated. With any luck I would be able to make one controller begin charging but if I attempted to place the next controller to begin charging both controllers would immediately become unresponsive. I then just tried to only charge one controller and could not even get that to happen. After repeated frustration I gave up. I was very disappointed in this product.
Half it worked...
Just bought one of these from the NEX and was very disappointed that it didn't work properly. Only one of the batteries charges. No matter how gently or roughly I place them on the charger only one will charge. Taking it back and ordering the Xbone dual charge dock. From what I hear the dual charge dock comes with a better battery anyways.
Does not charge battery. Put both chargers in dock and they dont charge. Only had the 4 hours. I should have went with what the top poster posted. Trash
Buy something else!
Bought this tonight at the suggestion of the sales rep...she suggested it was more reliable then the Energizer brand which sells for the same price and comes with the same number of components...base station, 2 batteries, 2 battery covers. I followed all instructions, inserted the battery, placed the cover on it and docked it, plugged the docking station in and set down to watch a 2 hour movie. When the movie was done, I checked and there was no life at all in the battery. Thinking it may be a bad battery, I switched the other one that came with the set and again waited for a charge, nothing. The product was DOA right out of the box so back to the store it goes. I'm just going to get the microsoft branded plug and play charge system, it's 10 bucks cheaper and probably will work.
To charge your controller, you have to take you accessories off your controller including the battery cover or an audio adapter for a headset in order to charge the controller. It takes hours in order for it to a fully charge. I would not recommend it.
