I was kind of skepticle when it came to buying this game. I loveed the anime series and I love giant mechs. Get to run around liberating little people with HUGE guns. However, the last zoids games left a lot to be desired. Poor storylines, difficult controls, and the list goes on. I had hope this would be better, but I was sadly mistaken. The game play is great, Im not big on turned base strategies, but this one somehow keeps it fun. But thats about all it has. I found myself doing random things during the opening cut scene, way too long. For a next gen system game, the still cutscene graphics just arent cutting it. In game, when you move your men, they run through each other...at the very least make them run around each other. The lack of animation durnig attack sequences was depressing. Youre using a gianormous weapon, its bound to do more than throw a few sparks up. Overall upsetting, but if you can stand the long cutscenes and graphics problems, its good.

Well here we go another attempt at making a good zoids game. Im pleased to say that all of the reviews on the web are correct. This game is very poorly made. The creators must have done it on their spare time. Although being a die hard zoids fan i still picked it up. The story line is something to be desired along with the graphics. Looking through all that you get Final Fantasy tactics without the elevation advantage. I really enjoy this game because it gets back to the roots where Zoids are a tool of war. Now would i reccomend this to anyone else? No. I just wish that they would make a game based off of Zoids New century with Bit Cloud. a good Tournament style RPG or even an MMORPG that would be rockin. They could have liger zero and the blade liger and the gunsniper and the shadow fox or the lightning sikes... A kid could dream

I was waiting so long for this game to come out because when I was a kid I loved the show and I was instantly hooked on it. This game did not deliver like I thought it would. When I heard that a new zoids game was coming out I was excited. I thought I would be able to create new zoids and have many zoids to choose from but ONLY 5 ZOIDS TO CHOOSE FROM! THAT IS RIDICULOUS how could anyone ever expect to make the customer happy with 5 zoids to choose from. They could have easily made another 10 zoids. I really hope that they do make another zoids game and that they decide to make more zoids and more weapons for the zoids. A zoids game definitely has potential to be a great game but this was no where near close to great, I expect the next to be much, much better! And I beg that the next game is better!

I am a huge Front mission fan. So I picked this up since I am a Zoids fan and a fan of these types of games. Now I wish I never saw this game. $** for a game that can play on a PS1 and its for the 360 give me a break. The cut scenes are the worst I have ever seen in a game. Long drawn out and the artwork is just bad. You only get 3 zoids and you can't really even do much to them. Wow you get to upgrade a couple of guns. No missiles in the game what's up with that? The missions are lame. I played 6 of them before I was just so disgusted with the game I quit. I am sorry but every mission the same. You fight and about 4 to 6 turns what's this help shows up yet again. Only had this game one day and going ot take it back tomorrow for store credit and hopefully find a real game to play.

I was hoping this game would be really good. It's not the worst game I've played but when you only get to play as five zoids and 3 of them are the same it's a disappointment. I started watching zoids in 2000 I was instantly hooked on the show and zoids battle legends for the gamecube was a great game so I was really waiting for this game but there's just so many levels where this game didn't deliver. Where are the good zoids I like the shield liger and the D bison but command wolves really just suck. I realize this game is based off of zoids chaotic century so there's no liger zero and no berserk fury. But still why cant you pilot the dark horns. Anyway I hope they make a second zoids game that includes more zoids and more choices of colors and upgrades.

I was hoping this was going to be something I could get into. I loved Front Mission 4 on PS2, I love Fire Emblem and FF Tactics, I even enjoyed Gladius. This game is just very, very shallow. Very few options, no real choices on the design of your team. They give you 5 guys (in 3 different zoids) and thats it. At first I just thought these would just be for the training missions, but I'm starting to think there's no more to come. The depth is very disappointing compared these other strategy games that I mentioned. The Cut scenes are really what locks in the Shovelware title. Still pictures and Audio worked fine for the PSOne, but this is a 360 title. It is something that could be overlooked if the game play was new and/or exciting, but it definitely is not.

Im glad they brought the old Zoids back I use to watch the show and I loved it and they came out with some games for it but they sucked. And I loved the Front Mission series. They had great game play. I hope the best of both come together in this game. Also I wish they had the Zoids from the show like the tiger looking one with the sick tiger claw melee attack. I remember watching it as a kid and wishing for a good game to come out for it. Also hope they keep the original characters from the show. The graphics were ok and the new health bar is dumb because there is only one and in from Front Mission 4 there was head body and legs and stuff but we will see how it comes out.
Rated 7 out of 10 by Shadowstalker A good game for the die-hard Zoids fan
This game is good for any fan of Zoids. Sure, the graphics aren't the best, but the overall game play makes up for it.
At first, it can get a little rough and the game can quite literally kick your butt. I am just over half way and there were a few parts I got stuck on. The strategy really goes in-depth. The amount of damage each weapon does can all fact down to how far the target is, the armor they are using, whether or not that have "Guarding" or "Evading" abilities, and even which direction you are facing when you engage the target. Let's say your zoid has its back to a target. It can still attack it if it is in range; it will turn around in the attack scene. But if you are facing the enemy zoid when you attack it...it can do even more damage.
The lack of useable zoids in the game is rather low. I haven't beaten the game yet, so you may get more than I have said so far. You start off with 5: 2 Shield Ligers, 2 Command Wolves, and a D Bison. And pretty much the majority of the zoids you fight are Command Wolves. As you get farther into the game; you will have to fight a Red Horn or two or even a few Saber Tigers every so often.
In short, if you can get over the somewhat lacking graphics and sometimes difficult game play; this game can be rather fun. And on a side note, the game isn't very long, only about 15 or so missions and only 8 achievements. But depending on how well you can master a good strategy, a mission can take anywhere form a half hour up to a few hours.

Take a good look at the gameplay and the screenshots and you'll notice that it looks exactly like front mission 4. The only difference is the better graphics and different weapons (zoids instead of wanzers). Even how they move during combat sequences is the same. I'll definitely get the game but not because it's zoids. I'm getting it because front mission was an awesome series and this seems like it could easily be a sequel with a different story arc and characters.
