by gamer4555 Very fun and makes you want to try all the powers.
This is one of my favorite games.I first played as Adrian with energy projection. It was amazing how it would hit more than 1 person each blast it would hit and keep going. When i finished the career mode with him i played agian as Grant with dark matter and its just so cool how diffrent stuff happens as you pick diffrent people.
Rated 7 out of 10 by j51x NOT bad, could be better though
So, the game is very easy to pick up and get going on. The gene customization is cool, being able to swap out iconic and not so iconic x men and brotherhood powers adds a nice twist. The power selection is nice not being given a specific power tree is a plus. However, the story is EXTREMELY short, i think im through my second play through in almost 2 hours. And its fun to play again to use all three power trees, but after that maybe another three plays ONLY IF youre feeling like seeing all the abilities you can get.
My biggest problem is that you dont get to create your own character, there are customizable features but it would be much better to be able to build a character from scratch on your own. Also activision could have made more than just 3 powers trees to choose from. Wouldve added a lot more replay value.
All in all its a fun game to play not much replay value after the first three runs. So id say wait til its cheaper to get it, not quite the jump outta your seats to go buy.
Rated 7 out of 10 by skyrimlord74 It could have been much better.
I recently bought this game, mainly due to my love for anything Marvel and or X-Men related. It was a slight disappointment. One, the graphics could have been much better. Two, it would have been better if they had allowed you to create your mutant instead of choosing pre-existing ones. Three, it should have been a free roam game in a sandbox world. The mutant abilities the creators allowed you to choose from were okay but there should have been more. It is slightly like playing Infamous one or two, you make a desicion during certain key areas, be an x-man or go with the brotherhood. YAWN! If this had been done more like Fabel, your overall actions effect who you team with. That would have worked. You have to be a really big fan of Marvel games and the X-Men to enjoy this one. Now if the developers would allow add-on powers and characters later on it would raise the interest level to at least a rating of 8 maybe 8 and a half. There have been better X-Men games on the first X-Box and Playstation 2. Rent this one and buy Batman: Arkham City.

X-Men Destiny appears to be something fresh to the X-Men franchise of games. Let's face it, there has not been a good X-Men Game since the "X-Men Legends" series! This game offers something promising to fans, to opportunity to be a fresh, new mutant and either join the X-Men, or Join the darker forces. Your choices impact where you go in the game, and you can choose your power sets, which is pretty cool in my opinion! My only complaint of this game is the inability to make your own mutant. You just have bases of three characters to work with. It would have been cooler to be able to just make your own character right off the bat... but being able to customize their powers and outfits to a degree works for me! Unless you are a fan of games that leave you with many choices, customization of your abilities, or a die hard X-Men fan... you just may not get it and not give this game a shot.

The thing about xmen games that is really rare with any type of game is that they are always good. Not necesarily always great, but always at least good.Ive preordered this game and my expectations are pretty high(as they should be).Everything ive heard about this game so far has been good..Even the the people who write the articles for game informer have been seemingly impressed with this game, which is rare because for what ever reason they usually talk pretty negatively about super hero games.Another thing that sounds nice is that this sounds different than any other xmen game made before.Which is very good because there have been so many different styles of gameplay used for xmen games, they arent like spiderman games where they are all generally the same(not that thats bad I love spiderman games).I cant wait for this game to come out it feels like ts taking forever.
Rated 8 out of 10 by BlackMamba a great X-men game
This game is one of the best X-men game ever. I really liked how you finally get to pick between The Brother Hood or X-men. They say the have to make choices threw out the game, and while you do get to make choices I feel like you don't get to really make enough choices. It's more like who side you want to be on. Now don't get me wrong that's fine but their needs to be more choices other than desiceding on if you want to be an X-men or Brother Hood. I also like how you get to choose your own power can unlocking the kind of power you want but I mean really you should get to have more core powers to pick from. I also feel like it should be a free rome type game where you can move around the whole city. The thing I really didn't like is the graphics I feel like that graphics aren't what they could be. All in all its a great game will lots of unlockable stuff.
Rated 3 out of 10 by HoosierHoss Don't waste your money on this as a new game!
I can't believe I wasted $60 on this game when I could've gotten it for $3 in the Redbox at my local CVS. I played this game for 6 hours, which was 3 nights at $1 a night.
Replay value: The only reason to play it again is if you want to get all the Xbox or PS3 achievements. If you are looking for a game that has some staying power and you lots of variety then look elsewhere!!
Graphics: They're just alright. Nothing spectacular to look at.
Sound: Decent sound
Overall: I love X-Men games and was really looking forward to this, I new what to expect going into it. I knew I wasn't going to play as any of the X-men or Brotherhood but at least make the playable characters interesting and add some substance to them.
Don't waste your money on this as a new game! Wait til' you can get it used or even go to the Redbox!!
Rated 3 out of 10 by Adadglgwut Victim of expectations
First off, this game isn't completely bad. There are okay qualities that keep it from being the absolute worst game of all time. However, the reason why I would never recommend this game is because it really was nothing more than a disappointment. It hyped itself up to be this "Be your own X-man" game...but it really boiled down to just "be one of these three mutants...oh and there's only 3 powers to choose from(Not 3 unique powers for each character, just 3 powers altogether)". That truly is the least they could have possibly done in terms of customization. Sure, you gain more powers along the way....but THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE. In X-men, unless you're Rogue, you don't gain other people's mutations. I just feel like they took advantage of us in promising a really cool idea, which would be a free roam action RPG where you can be your own mutant with your own improveable powers that has the similar feel to Bioware RPG's in it's good/evil dialogue and action choices. In fact, I wish Bioware would've done this game...but instead you get this. I wouldn't say don't play this game, I would say rent it, or wait until it's in the bargain bin when it's about 10-15 dollars.

This game was fun if nothing else. I bought it today using my rewards card (which i recommend) i wouldn't pay for this out of pocket. That's just because im cheap, anyway, this was a fun title i bought it today and yes beat it today it's a short game but that's probably due to the fact that their are so many different ways you can go and so many powers to choose from i beat it and got pretty much every x gene but still didnt unlock all of MY powers so i have another play through to do, actually a bunch of play through's i still have the other 2 paths plus all of their play through's this game has excellent replay value. GET IT IF YOU WANT TO HAVE FUN AND IF YOU ARE A FAN OF MARVEL if your looking for a game just so you can complain skip this.
