Disappointing and Unsatisfied
I had high hopes for this game. I am such a HUGE X-Men fan and Video Game fan. I have been playing video games since I was 5 with Super Mario Bros. I have been collecting X-Men since 5th grade, and I am 30 lol.... The graphics at preview were a let down, but I still had hopes they put more effort into the game itself then. I was wrong...... The gameplay is pretty predictable. Battle X amount of bad guys, move on to next area, fight the exact same people and maybe have an appearance by an X-Man. It's not exactly free roaming either. I would never describe this game as open world. It is not, it is closer to dungeon crawler than open world. You are not free to go wherever and explore. You are forced into limited areas and guided where to go. There are very few extra things to do, besides collecting tokens and tearing down propaganda. Both of which do absolutely nothing for the gameplay. I was hoping for the ability to align with a specific fraction. However again it's not the case. You pretty much do missions for whoever. There are times Cyclops is asking for your assistance and others its Mystique. You get points for either side, but it's not as if you actually become part of either of them. It's just a poorly executed game. I remember one scene in specific. Where Gambit was sitting and his coat just literally went through his leg. There was no effort to polish this game up at all. It also claims 5 hours of gameplay, I beat it in less than 4 without all the little extras things that didn't entice me to do at all..... Don't waste your money. I will wait for an X-Men Legends 3 thank you very much.

This game has been put down, but is great!
I have come here before and seen all of the reviews and a lot of them have been against the game...the graphics are pretty decent. The story line, although at sometimes it seems rushed, is quite nice. Customization of how you want your character to be is decent also. The decision of brotherhood and Xmen should be made right away though...if you want the xmen, then go with the missions they give you, if you'd like the brotherhood, go with THEIR missions. Overall I think the game is pretty good.

fun but little replay value
The mechanics are solid enough. This plays like a beat em up. The game is linear which doesn't bother me much. The things that do bother me is this only took me 5 hours to complete. The story is pretty interesting, but they could have dome so much more with it. A deeper story for each character would have made it far more interesting. Better customization was needed., like customizing your character from scratch would have been more fun. Not a bad game, feels a bit rushed though. Some pretty easy achievements for the hunters out there.

Very fun and makes you want to try all the powers.
This is one of my favorite games.I first played as Adrian with energy projection. It was amazing how it would hit more than 1 person each blast it would hit and keep going. When i finished the career mode with him i played agian as Grant with dark matter and its just so cool how diffrent stuff happens as you pick diffrent people.

This Game is Great!
I read some harsh reviews on here...i don't understand why. I saw that every rating was near 4-6...don't get that either. This game is awesome! i love what yuo can do, and there's so much you CAN do! You get to decide whether yuo want to work with the X-Men or the Brotherhood. i think that's cool. THEN, you get really cool suit/ outfits. Plus, you get to have special powers from other charaters. The Graphics Are Great! I would definetly Recommend this to a friend. If yuo're in to the X-Men, Comics, MArvel, or just Superheros, GET THIS GAME! Thank You. -Timmmy6897

Great graphics... for a ps1 game
Bad graphics. Jumped in playing it on the hardest difficulty and all I had to hit was the attack button for any/every battle. I was thinking about letting my 3 year old daughter play it but she doesn't like things that simple.

Victim of expectations
First off, this game isn't completely bad. There are okay qualities that keep it from being the absolute worst game of all time. However, the reason why I would never recommend this game is because it really was nothing more than a disappointment. It hyped itself up to be this "Be your own X-man" game...but it really boiled down to just "be one of these three mutants...oh and there's only 3 powers to choose from(Not 3 unique powers for each character, just 3 powers altogether)". That truly is the least they could have possibly done in terms of customization. Sure, you gain more powers along the way....but THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE. In X-men, unless you're Rogue, you don't gain other people's mutations. I just feel like they took advantage of us in promising a really cool idea, which would be a free roam action RPG where you can be your own mutant with your own improveable powers that has the similar feel to Bioware RPG's in it's good/evil dialogue and action choices. In fact, I wish Bioware would've done this game...but instead you get this. I wouldn't say don't play this game, I would say rent it, or wait until it's in the bargain bin when it's about 10-15 dollars.

Amazing!
This game make you feel like a real mutant. It's not completly great.Like when they give you a choice to pick to say something like a hero or villian it really don't matter. But when you get to pick brotherhood or Xmen it is like all the choices you made didn't matter. At the end the story forgotten it's beginning. The Gameplay is okay. Gameplay:6.9 Story:4.8 Sound:7.0 APPEAL:7.0 GRAPHICS: 9.7 Overall: 7.5

Go X-men
This game is amazing! I'm the girl and the game cuz I'm a girl. I have the 3rd power. I forgot the name. The frist time I played I pick X-men , the next time I played I pick the brotherhood . The game is short but fun. I really good at the game. I even had to help my family get through the game. That's why I'm called Video Game Queen.
