Product Details:

X-Blades offer action-packed enjoyment in fantastic Hack-and-Slash style. Using various weapons, spells and tactics, you must fight your way through many indoor and outdoor levels, killing hordes of monsters on the way. The story, exciting and rich in variety with numerous cut scenes not only motivates you, it also cleverly interlinks the individual levels. Besides the "normal" monsters, there are also "Monster Generators", which ceaselessly create new creatures (and of course powerful Boss opponents) for the game world. Hidden Power-ups and coins ensure that you are rewarded for exploring a level. Some locations can only be reached by bold and daring leap/jump combinations. You will only achieve success in the game if you make use of the extensive system for the further development of the heroine Ayumi - Experience Points earned, for example, must be converted to Skills. There are various Power-ups available to help you as well, like combat techniques, magic, weapon enhancement and teleportation and the right mix will lead to success. Apart from that, the use of skills on the "good or bad side" also affects the finale. Depending on your actions, two different game endings await the heroine Ayumi.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not For Adults Although this game states that it is 17 and up, considering the base, story line, characters, and fundamentals, this game is much more suitable for mature children between the ages of 12 and maybe 15. The graphics are okay, but the main idea would be funnier and more entertaining to kids that age than adults who play things like Dead Rising, MW3, Alan Wake, Left4Dead, or anything in that genre. Again, if you find that a kid is mature enough for this, let them play it. I'm 13 myself, and reading these comments made it clear that this game is more entertaining for my generation. - LittleGamingLady

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Anime fans maybe...everybody else...probably not not a horrible game, but when you look at the devil may cry series(the one that made hack & slash big) its just fails in comparison. if ya wanna see a girl in a skimpy outfit go with bayonetta,if ya want a good hack & slash go darksiders or devil may cry 4

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun and Exciting for Starters While playing this game I tried to follow along with the storyline although it was fun and yes the voice acting is kind of silly. I purchased that game a few months ago and have yet to finish it (although almost done). I believe I got tired of the game, the controls took some time to adjust too but the specials are nice. The cover being a cute female with gigantic swords appealed to me as a girl gamer and the reviews at least averaged it to an eight. I did think about Tomb Raider but I feel this game is more repetition then anything. Actually, now that I am commenting on this game I'll play it it tonight :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The fist game i've ever bought and not liked Ok now when I first looked at this game I thought ok it's a Tomb Raider hack and slash game. Man was I wrong the controls sucked and the auto targeting did everything but target the thing you needed it to. Voice acting sucked to the max nobody in this game that played a voice sounded like an elementary play. Animation looked like it belong on the original Xbox but that didn't bug me as much. The actual fighting in the game was a pain in the butt and got worse as time went on with nearly unlimited enemies that just appear to no block button a crappy dodge stick that required a target lock witch didn't work half the time to the fact that landing hits on some enemies was nearly impossible but they can hit you as easy as they appear. Every room had a boss fight which wouldn't be bad if the boss wasn't surrounded by 20 - 30 people and normally I would be like hell yea but no not this time because the controls made it more of a tedious hassle than a fun challenge so in my opinion this game is only worth it if you get it for free and you get a cash prize if you beat it for tolerating such a crappy game.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from From Two Worlds to X-Blades Well I'm sure I don't have to remind everyone that after playing the junk called two worlds I was a bit skeptical of getting this game seeing as they are both made by south peak. Sure enough it is a different game with the same horrible problems. Let's start off on the worst part, voice acting. Would it kill to chip in a few extra bucks and get someone who has actually done voice acting before? The voice of this girl sounds like they just went to a strip club and hired the first stripper that would do it for $** and a cheese sandwich. Next is the story line. What was that all about? She goes and finds a magic orb and all of a sudden monsters are ruling the world. I thought Japanese games had weird story lines, but what is this all about? It makes no sense at all. I think a blind monkey could have come of with something better than that. The only part of this game that is not incredibly stupid is the game play, but it is so glitchy and the levels are so repetitive, that it still makes the game terrible. This is like a failed mix of tomb raider and devil may cry and is just about the worst game I have ever played. It ranks slightly above Two Worlds. I'm surprised they didn't put "like devil may cry on steroids" on the box. That way I would have known how bad the game was, like when they tried to compare two worlds to oblivion. Please save your money. If you wanna play this game make sure you have a rent for free coupon because it's not even worth the $* to rent it, let alone $** dollars to buy. I feel sorry for anyone who has bought this game, because if I did I would probably be jumping off a building.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, But It's Been Done I've been wanting to play this game ever since I read about It on IGN. Rented It 3 days ago and have already acquired every achievement. It is probably one of the easiest games I've played. Overall though, It was a good concept and should have a sequel. The story line is rather bland, but gameplay is fantastic! If you like games such as Devil May Cry, You will definitely find striking similarities in the overall gameplay. Controls were fairly simple when fighting 20 monsters and a boss at the same time. The hard-core electro rock music kept me going throughout the entire game. I do recommend that you should rent this game though. Like I said before, I finished ALL the content in less that 3 days! Hopefully you will be pleased with it like I was.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from X-Blades, Like, what a waste, Like totally! This game is to say the least... a waste of your hard earned dollar. where to begin with this mess..... Challenge: this game is very difficult, but those of you who like a challenge, its not difficult for the gameplay, rather the way the game plays, (I Know that doesn't make sense but neither does this game.) Graphics: I really enjoy cel shaded animation, but, this is terrible. The characters at first glimpse look amazing, until you actually start playing the game. poorly animated and even more poorly motion captured the characters move akwardly and the fighting style is the same no mater what your doing. for instance a forward slash from the ground is the exact same movement as in the air. Responsiveness: The game has terrible responsiveness, you push up a tiny bit she runs and jumps off a cliff. I died many a time trying to make a jump that was only a foot away. Story line: story, what story? Controls: Awful to say the least. the game forces you to make jumps that are a first site easy enough, until you actually try, and keep dying cause pushing forward then jump makes you do a low hop and pushing jump but not pushing forward soon enough makes you jump straight up, oh, and if you finally make the jump don't be surprised if the heroine jumps forward again, without you pushing anything. Interface: really doesn't matter that much but it was also terrible. Sound: I was actually surprised to find that there is voice acting for this game, sadly however, the voices are God awful, The Heroines voice is the worst, sounding like a california Typical dumb blonde, (No I have nothing against california or blondes, but i hate stupid people.) she says Like every other sentence, and during boss fights typically she and the boss will exchange seemingly random words. Overall: a very poor game, and a big waste of money. the best thing about this game, is the fact that i got a free shirt with it.
