Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good game This game is a good game for some transformers fans, but not for every fan. The story is not all bad, but after a while, you will understand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good coop game I thought rise of the dark spark was better than the other transformers games. Dont listen to the reviews. People should at least rent the game before they buy it. It plays a lot like fall of cybertron and war for cybertron. Try this game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for some time but gets boring fast. This is an okay game but not the best for the Transformer games. Play it and that is it. Purchase pre ordered.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not what expected (in a good way) After getting hyped about another Transformers game after playing WFC, FOC, and the games that went along with the movies, i was really excited for this game. I watched the game play trailers and visited the website and everything. Then I looked at the reviews and I didnt like what I saw. Bad reviews. I was starting to think this would be another DOTM DS version (which was absolutely abhorring). But my friend told me that he has it and really enjoys it. Even though Activision made this game, and not High Moon (they made WFC and FOC), its still great. "Well im playing it now and its like fall of cybertron mixed with transformers 4" he said. So I got it and its definitely better than what the bad reviews give it. If you want to spend the money, definitely give it a try!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Far from the expecations of the Cybertron games I am a big fan of Transformers War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron. This game doesn't even come close to them. Although the controls are the same, the gameplay is very repetitive in your overall mission for the level and how you move throughout your surroundings. Most of it is just moving through doors and hallways to get from on room to the next. The details of the Cybertron portion of the game are lacking compared the Cybertron games. As I said, the majority of your movement is through hallways and doors to navigate. In the Cybertron games you went through buildings of varying detail and layout in a single level. You basically stay in the same building or area for the entire level in Rise of the Dark Spark. The sound at times is fine, but is also muffled a lot when a character is speaking or if you are in a battle. Also, the plot has a few inconsistencies. First off, the Autobots fight the Insecticons for the first time in a campaign that takes place before the events of Fall of Cybertron, where the Autobots didn't seem to have encountered them yet either. Also, Megatron's design is wrong. He didn't get the design he has in this game until the events of Fall of Cybertron. I can understand a few mistakes with this though, especially when you're trying to combine two different game universes into one. The overall story is good, but I really only see this as a side story in the Cybertron series, and I'm still hoping for an actual sequel to Fall of Cybertron. The Earth portion of the game is about average for the movie games in terms of graphics. The gameplay and surroundings are otherwise the same as in the rest of the game except that Earth has a few more varying details in the surroundings. Then there is Escalation. There is no Multiplayer. For whatever reason, they through away the Multiplayer games such as Team Deathmatch and Conquest as well as the character customization seen in the last Cybertron game. There is a character customization in Rise of the Dark Spark, but that is only for one character that you use in Escalation. You choose an Autobot and Decepticon character from the game or one of the Transformers series to use in every match, depending on what faction you're on. Also, you choose one set of weapons to use, and there is no ammo or weapons to buy in Escalation like before. The only way you can get ammo that I have found is to use a hack that makes enemies drop more ammo but less health. You can buy other weapons, but you have to level up to unlock them and you can only buy them at a terminal much like the Teletraan- 1 terminals in Fall of Cybertron. Only in this game they are slower to load and you don't buy weapons, upgrades, or T.E.C.H. with energon shards. At least in the campaign you don't use energon shards. You unlock them by completing missions in the campaign and receiving Gear Boxes that give you characters, weapons, upgrades, etc. In conclusion, if you haven't bought this game I wouldn't recommend it. Transformers War for Cybertron or Fall of Cybertron would be a better by if you don't have those yet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This game is great, but it still needs more dlc This game is great, but it needs more updates and DLC to make it amazing. I wish the developers if the game can do this so everybody can be happy. ( DLC such as the pre-order bonuses, and updates such as infinite waves in escalation....and more boss fights.)
