by KillerKlaw Great Game........Sad ending
Let me start off with this game will blow your and pull your heart in all directions. Before i played this game my emotions were tugged in but after i beat the game i cried it was such an awful ending in my opinion. I mean its hard to watch lee and clementine get so close and then SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!! Lee dies and clementine is left alone. But everything else in the game is great i cant wait till season 2.
Rated 1 out of 10 by iluvhandyj i would like it if it had no screw-ups
i was playing in the first episode and when i was close to the end of it. My character for some reason wasnt able to pick up items or interact with the other characters. So then i turn off my xbox 360 and the problem solved itself. And later in episode 2 chapter 7 when Brenda was theatening to kill you and kenny's wife it wouldn't let me interact with her. So therefore i kept on dying and at first i thought i was making the wrong choices or i just had to turn off my xbox untill i looked up the gameplay of episode 2 and i made the same choices has that player. And he managed to complete the chapter without the same problem i have and i am outraged by this screw-up. Now if this problem can be solved without restarting from the first episode that would be really helpful. And im willing to take suggestions. But if this problem is never solved im afraid that my review will not change. And i would hate to do that because the game's plot is very interesting and its really intense.
Rated 2 out of 10 by wolverine7 The walking comic book dead.
This game is like playing a comic book video game because the graphics were intentionally crafted that way to give it the feel of the Walking Dead comics. The gameplay is basically an interactive story that won't really appeal to certain gamers. Truthfully I felt that their were a lot of mishaps in this game besides the weird graphics that didn't really convey much maturity. What I mean is the whole feel of the game didn't seem right due to the cartoonish look, and it made the story, zombies, characters, and gameplay seem silly or out right lame. The other strange thing was the weird camera angle that I felt made navigating kind of constricted. Overall, this game is far from a game of the year material as was conveyed in some of this years game awards shows nor was the story in it anything new or extra exciting. I don't understand why people make such a big deal about something that in my opinion is just a failure of a video game. In my opinion this is not even a game, but an interactive cartoon movie that they decided to put zombies in.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Giuseppe Such a great game!
This isn't a game where you fight off waves and waves of zombies, this is a game where you make decisions for the better or worse of your group of survivors whom may or may not stay with you until the next episode. Every episode has a unique story with a well thought out twist to them. You change the story with every big decision you make, and that's why I love it! After beating it, you will never feel that you've made the right decisions or not, but you will be satisfied with all you were able to do... The graphics are exceptional, although they have a distinct style to them. The aiming is different than what I'm used to, but I did like the change. Lastly, I did have mixed feelings about being confined to a distinct area, although the ability to wonder off and explore beyond limits would have been useless. All in all, The Walking Dead - A TellTale Games Series is a great game, and I cherished every moment of playtime!!
Rated 10 out of 10 by cataclysm117 Epic game well deserving the goty award it got.
Truly a groundbreaking experience!!!! This game is great a real thrill as you are always making decisions that can harm you or help you and you have to make each of these decisions fast to so you better be a quick thinker. This game definitely deserves the game of the year award that it got . It really has you on the edge of your seat with the fast decision making. This game without a doubt is for any walking dead, but also for anyone looking for a brilliant written story and a thrill like no other, however it is not recommended to people who like to be in there delivering the action like call of duty, or battlefield. Anyway I urge anyone to try this out it has a great story and really has you setting on the edge of your seat, well worth the price, and also by the way the first chapter is free so it gives you a chance to try it out which is cool, but I must warn ya, you won't wont to stop once you have begone.
Rated 2 out of 10 by Joekewl I dont understand its populariity
Why this game is so popular is beyond me. You spend far more time watching the game than actually playing it. I like FPS and also RPG's and strategy and... This is none of those. This is a linear choose your own adventure that has a lot of OMG I need to react now kind of scenarios... many of which you'll have to replay several times to get it. I understand that they are trying to give you a realistic feel but it just didnt work for me.
There isnt any real thought you have to put into it. You walk around and click on everything you can click on. Most of which will do you no good.
The best part about it is that you often have to choose what to do. Do I help the kid or the guy or the... and it remembers that decision to a degree.
I also found each episode to be too short. I bought the bundle but only played the first 3, I just couldnt bring myself to play the others.
I'm guessing casual gamers and some zombie fans like this one and hard core gamers (me... although I usually love the zombie games) not so much. But given all the hype and praise maybe I'm wrong.
Rated 0 out of 10 by Dolliepop If you're more into a good story...
Than random pointless zombie killing this game is for you.
If you've never played the download versions of this game here's some things for you too know -
1. It's an interactive story, point and click style game.
2.) The decisions you make effect the story, like in games like Heavy Rain.
3.) Don't be expecting amazing Skyrim like graphics or hardcore shooting like in Call of Duty, like someone posted "90's era game graphics" what's wrong with 90s games? It doesn't look like that. It has a "comic book" art style, which fits it nicely because it's based off the Comic Book rather than the Tv show.
4.) Don't judge it by its demo... I didn't like the demo, but I bought it because eh, it was cheap, and well... I fell in love with it and it is amazing once you get into it.
5.) Buy it :p It's worth the money and also...easy achievements.
Rated 7 out of 10 by Danniale Great Story, keeps freezing
I have to say, this game is not anything like i expected. Which is good and bad. When your playing its not really you doing the actions but your making the descions. The game varies on what you choose. If you decide to be an asswhole in the game then the people treat you like an asswhole. If you want to be a nice people pleaser, people will most likly like you in the game. Its kind of like watching a movie, but you choose what path you take. Although all of those things, the game keeps freezing on me. whenever i have to kill a zombie it freezes and imedetly goes to the "Your dead" screen. Its very aggritvating. Ive tried two other times to restart the game to see if its just a little glitch, but it seems to be doing the same thing. Which doesnt alow me to go on with the game. Overall its a great story line, but freezes a lot.
Rated 0 out of 10 by ConananProdigy A must buy for all zombie fans!
I've played the whole game and loved it. It may be more of an interactive story, but it will pull you in with how amazing it is. The game is based on how you play, things will have different outcomes that will effect the story. It all comes down to hard, dark choices. If you have read any of the comics, you will feel great about how this game is written. The graphics are beautiful as well, they did a good job of bringing that comic book feel to life, the voice acting is really spot on. Also I have yet to ever see a game like this one, there have been a lot of zombie games made out there, but none of those will emotionally draw you in like this one. TellTall Games did an amazing job on this and I highly recommend you get it. Can't wait for them to start writting the second season of this game!
Rated 8 out of 10 by Jureidini Truly Tale Telling!
This is very enjoyable gaming experience provided by the guys, and as reflected in the title it is all about telling a tale the authors/designers have for you. While I am not a big fan of TWD, I have watched a few episodes and read a comic, and easily found myself being emersed in this world. Obviously its got a great story, but its how the gameplay is presented to you in quick decision making that really makes you feel as if you are "in it" and not "playing it". The animation style is perfect and the characters voices, acting and the facial expressions all work very well. Purchased all at once, or in pieces (as I know alot of people did testing the waters initially) this is good bang for the buck for gamers and a must have for TWD fans. I am tempted to go watch and read the whole series now!
