The Walking Dead - A TellTale Games Series
Great Game........Sad ending
Let me start off with this game will blow your and pull your heart in all directions. Before i played this game my emotions were tugged in but after i beat the game i cried it was such an awful ending in my opinion. I mean its hard to watch lee and clementine get so close and then SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!! Lee dies and clementine is left alone. But everything else in the game is great i cant wait till season 2.
GREATEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This game is the greatest game I ever played. This not just for the fans its for all. This makes you care about the characters espcially the two main characters. This game is so emotional it make a 30 year old man cry like hes 2.Even though I`m late with the review . This game where anything you do affects you in the next episode . Some of the decisons i made afeected me in season two and those where some pretty good decisons.Get the game you would want to play it more than once
The Walking Dead was originally released in episode form like a T.V. show. I bought it then, so I will do a rundown of each episode. Episode 1: A New Day: This is by far the most involved episode. It introduces some tight relationships and some unique gameplay. While there are a few horrible bugs, this is a must buy. Final Verdict: 9.1/10 Episode 2: Starved for Help: My second favorite of the series. Took many twists and turns, added in some TOUGH choices, had a dark tone, and was packed with interesting dialogue. Final Verdict: 9.9/10 Episode 3: The Long Road Ahead: Not my favorite. The game does indeed have the most unexpected and depressing moments, but my game save was deleted twice, which made me play through the five four game three times! Final Verdict: 8.3/10 Episode 4: Around Every Corner: My least favorite. The game hardly has any choices, and the decisions that you do make don't matter! While there are a few fun points, the episode ends up being slow and almost pointless. It is indeed the filler episode. Final Verdict: 7.1/10 Episode 5: No Time Left: Wow. If a game literally leaves me crying at the end because of how emotional and incredible it is; it's been successful. While the game is pretty much one big cutscene(no joke, there are few moments where you actually get to walk around as Lee) the game was incredible. Fast, brutal, horrifying, emotional: This game left an impact on me. Final Verdict: 10/10
An amazing emotional experience
Telltale's The Walking Dead is really something special. You immediately care about the characters and the decisions that you're presented with become an even bigger challenge to deal with. Many people complained that in the end your decisions don't matter much in regard to changing the story, but in my opinion the choices work because of your emotional reaction to them because you care about the characters. Compare that to a game like Heavy Rain where your decisions have huge consequences in the story, but the difference is that Heavy Rain doesn't do a good job making likable or even believable characters. The gameplay is minimal, with simple puzzle solving and action sequences. The comic book art style works well. The voice actors all do a fine job, especially Clementine's, who is the best child character of all time in my opinion. The lasting appeal is honestly not great, because I know once I finished playing I was so emotionally drained that I had no intention of playing it again anytime soon. Lastly, I think Telltale's The Walking Dead is a wonderful video game experience that everyone should try at least once. Also be warned that you cannot install the disc onto your X-Box, as much as I love physically owning my media this may be one case where digital wins.
A must buy for all zombie fans!
I've played the whole game and loved it. It may be more of an interactive story, but it will pull you in with how amazing it is. The game is based on how you play, things will have different outcomes that will effect the story. It all comes down to hard, dark choices. If you have read any of the comics, you will feel great about how this game is written. The graphics are beautiful as well, they did a good job of bringing that comic book feel to life, the voice acting is really spot on. Also I have yet to ever see a game like this one, there have been a lot of zombie games made out there, but none of those will emotionally draw you in like this one. TellTall Games did an amazing job on this and I highly recommend you get it. Can't wait for them to start writting the second season of this game!
Truly Tale Telling!
This is very enjoyable gaming experience provided by the guys, and as reflected in the title it is all about telling a tale the authors/designers have for you. While I am not a big fan of TWD, I have watched a few episodes and read a comic, and easily found myself being emersed in this world. Obviously its got a great story, but its how the gameplay is presented to you in quick decision making that really makes you feel as if you are "in it" and not "playing it". The animation style is perfect and the characters voices, acting and the facial expressions all work very well. Purchased all at once, or in pieces (as I know alot of people did testing the waters initially) this is good bang for the buck for gamers and a must have for TWD fans. I am tempted to go watch and read the whole series now!
Must play for the story!
I already finished playing through all five episodes on XBox Live and am considering purchasing the disc to give Tell Tale Games more support. This game's story is simply amazing from the beginning to the end. The ending had me fighting back tears or sadness, it was emotionally touching beyond anything I've experienced in a game before. The writing in this game puts the Walking Dead television show to shame. Buy this game, the story, artistic direction and characters will force you to love it.
i would like it if it had no screw-ups
i was playing in the first episode and when i was close to the end of it. My character for some reason wasnt able to pick up items or interact with the other characters. So then i turn off my xbox 360 and the problem solved itself. And later in episode 2 chapter 7 when Brenda was theatening to kill you and kenny's wife it wouldn't let me interact with her. So therefore i kept on dying and at first i thought i was making the wrong choices or i just had to turn off my xbox untill i looked up the gameplay of episode 2 and i made the same choices has that player. And he managed to complete the chapter without the same problem i have and i am outraged by this screw-up. Now if this problem can be solved without restarting from the first episode that would be really helpful. And im willing to take suggestions. But if this problem is never solved im afraid that my review will not change. And i would hate to do that because the game's plot is very interesting and its really intense.
A Roller-Coaster Ride of Intensity
As you play this game you will be slowly drawn in to a world where the dead have risen, but you also quickly discover that the living are to be feared just as much as the monsters that hunt them. While the gameplay of the Walking Dead may be slightly lacking the story is able to fully make up for it. The twists and turns and incredibly difficult choices you have to make drive the plot giving another example of how amazing storytelling can be in video games if done right. This work of art captivated me from beginning to end and concluded with the greatest ending in gaming history. The graphics are able to perfectly capture the comic book feel that they are going for. The wide range of characters in this game is also quite impressive and amazing.
The walking comic book dead.
This game is like playing a comic book video game because the graphics were intentionally crafted that way to give it the feel of the Walking Dead comics. The gameplay is basically an interactive story that won't really appeal to certain gamers. Truthfully I felt that their were a lot of mishaps in this game besides the weird graphics that didn't really convey much maturity. What I mean is the whole feel of the game didn't seem right due to the cartoonish look, and it made the story, zombies, characters, and gameplay seem silly or out right lame. The other strange thing was the weird camera angle that I felt made navigating kind of constricted. Overall, this game is far from a game of the year material as was conveyed in some of this years game awards shows nor was the story in it anything new or extra exciting. I don't understand why people make such a big deal about something that in my opinion is just a failure of a video game. In my opinion this is not even a game, but an interactive cartoon movie that they decided to put zombies in.
