This is a master piece
I gave it a ten on the graphics because it seemed to be a moving comic book, it had great graphics for the zombies, the guns looked like real guns, the graphics seemed great, and personally I like that it was a moving comic. I love to read manga hence my name, and this graphic type was right up my alley. The game play was great, as it would switch from just making choices, to fighting, to breaking free, to even shooting off real looking guns. The sound was great. The zombies sounded great, the screams of poor pedestrians being eaten were great. Not great they were screaming but in realiscality. But I do have to say something bout the gameplay. It glitches a bit here or there, yet I think that was just my disk. And my appeal to this game after it ends, why, I am playing it again over. I completed it in two days. That's faster than dead island, don't get me wrong the games long enough but I was so interested I couldn't stop, I barely got any sleep while playing, that's not a bad thing, it meant I was to interested. 10/10 perfect game for all casual and maybe even hard core players. Not perfect for parties or children though, unless they are either: used to blood, violence, horror, swearing, guns, murder, and all those things OR their legal guardian says its ok in which I have no say so, just saying it may be bad for children. Either way a master piece! Bravo telltale games!

Fantastic
This game is in my top 5 games ever played. The characters in this game feel very real and its sad when you finish it.

Game Sucks
The game lags constantly. The sound and picture is distorted because of the lagging. Your dead before you get a chance to move

Great thought
This game seems like an after thought. The action selection is kind of hokey and the length was VERY short. It has a great story line and I love the comic-bookesque graphics. I just feel like it was a let down.

not a long enough game
sure the game was great to play and i enjoyed the time actually playing, but having to wait on the loading screen sucks and i still managed to beat the entire game about 12 hours or less, i recommend renting the game or barrowing it from a friend. not really worth 25-30 dollars to own it unless there are going to be 10 episodes or more, but 5 episodes that i beat in one day. that's just me and my review. hope it helps with your desesion making.

Amazing, first game to ever make me shed a tear
"The Walking Dead" is a game... but it's not really what you'd imagine when you picture a traditional game. It's more of an old-school "Point and Click" type game like Full Throttle, Secret of Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion, etc. There IS action but it's not super-fast paced run-and-gun action. There are frantic, fast paced moments but they don't drive the game...... this is really a game that has to be experienced to be understood (Episode 1 was free for a long time on Xbox Live and hopefully it still is.... I played Episode 1 and was immediately hooked and HAD to see what was going to happen next and how my actions changed events).
The graphics are straight out of a comic book..... and I hope developers are paying attention, because this game with very simple graphics induced more emotional involvement than any photo-realistic game I've ever played. The sound effects are very good and the music is used sparingly but for huge effect. The story and how it is told and evolves are the stars of the show here, and that's really all that is needed when they are done this perfectly.
Much of the story goes forward through conversations where you have a limited time to decide what to respond. Some of your choices are so tough that I simply couldn't decide and thus just opted for silence (which is ALWAYS an acceptable option.... you can be silent for nearly all of the game). How you respond will dictate which characters like you, hate you, whether you are seen as a good or a bad guy (though most moral decisions are VERY VERY gray.... it's not a game where the decisions are to either pet the puppy or punt the puppy like a football). This will determine who will help/hinder you, assist or betray you. It's VERY dynamic and as the 5 episodes go on it REALLY changes how things evolve, who lives or dies.... the replay value is very good because different combinations of characters will react differently in different situations. The other part of the game is (often timed) "point and click" affairs where you go around the environment interacting with items/people/etc. This is pretty neat... I've always enjoyed point and click games, but The Walking Dead, I think, makes such games more "everyone-friendly"... i could see people that disliked "Secret of Monkey Island" still enjoy the Walking Dead. The writing is top-notch, so even just examining all of the extraneous items in a given room can be pretty enjoyable. There are fighting scenes, but these mostly entail moving the cursor over what part of the zombie you want to hit/shoot/chop. They don't detract from the game but don't really add a whole lot.
The Walking Dead won piles and piles of "Game of the Year" awards and I completely agree with this assessment. The way the story evolves differently every time, the way the timer gives pressure and weight to tense conversations, the way the game "auto-saves" after important events so you must move forward and accept whatever consequences (often unintended) occur....this game is essentially a "Choose Your Own Adventure Book" in visual form with a dark, heavy story that will have you very misty-eyed at times. It'll have you trying to guess 3 steps ahead as to what your decisions will entail in the future and desperately trying to hold your group together and keep them safe/alive.... you'll find yourself caring a LOT about these well-written fictional characters and you'll be cheering when one cheats death and simply floored and stunned when someone dies. This is an amazingly well-written story that deserves to be experienced by everyone at least once. After the ending (which is probably the most powerful and poignant ending of anything, ever) I immediately started up a new game to see how different decisions and different allies would change the direction and events of the series (after I recovered from the ending, that is).
***Check to see if Episode 1 is still a free download..... after playing that you'll know for sure if you'll enjoy this game..... I can't imagine someone NOT enjoying it but hey, you never know...

... Point and click...."story time"
The walking dead is a point and click adventure that is heavily focused on story depth. The story is definitely good, but the gameplay is terrible. For people that like point and clicks this game is for you, but for those who despise point and clicks because they are so simple this game is not for you. I would say that this game is centered around the story and character depth ( which it does a good job with both). I believe that if the gameplay and graphics had been more on the lines of a batman Arkham game or mass effect than it could have been unbelievable. ( I understand the comic book look, but it just makes the game look childish or shall I say absurd.)

Good game but DO NOT buy DISC version
I downloaded and played the first episode for free on Xbox 360 and thought it was a really good game but upon buying the disc version, my mind quickly turned as the cutscenes stuttered so much that I could barely even tell what the story was about. Just take my advice and DON'T BUY THE DISC VERSION of this game. It's really irritating to have cutscenes freeze and lag on you constantly. If you want to play this game, buy the download version.

Don't Waste Your Money
I bought this game with high expectations. I load time on this game SUCKS. When a Zombie attacks you, the screen will freeze and then skip to the zombie eating you. It gives you no time for attack. The screen constantly freezes, the loading in between areas is too long. I thought maybe there was something wrong with the disc, so I even-exchanged it at another Gamestop. Still having the same problem. I'm sure the game would be great, if it would knock off all the loading time, skipping and freezing. And just remember, Gamestop's new game return policy is that if the seal is broken, you cannot return it... you can either even-exchange or take the trade-in value. Trade-in value is $11.00.
