destruction on demand!
wow, my friend let me rent this game and i loved it. i mean the story is subpar but it gets the job done. now don't expect to get any achievements for this one. they are damn near impossible to get. anyways, the controls are pretty sharp, but sometimes in the way. The draw up distance is amazing and the game itself does not look too bad. The field units can be fairly easy to get or fairly hard. the gameplay runs at a decent framerate but sometimes it seems just a bit off. not to mention the Blood and Gore. sometimes when you hit them with certain weapons they blows to chunks. but those chunks look more like the limbs from Shellshock Nam 67'. plus the carried weapons fire very weak. some people forget that this is not the first person shooter that most people are used to. the online is decent but nobody plays this online. they are too busy playing gaylo 3 or something. don't pass it up. the hell with gamespot's 6.7. it only matters if you like it.
overall, this is a good game. it has the controls and the aiming of grand theft auto IV. i would strongly recommend this. It is a world war II game. I personally like third person shooters like this. You can see your surroundings very well in this game. when the bullets are fired from the nazis, you can see them extremely well. This game is also $6.99. Who wouldn't get this? It is a great price, no, an OUTSTANDING price for such a great game. I mean it might be better if it was a four player instead of two, but the one on one is really fun. Especially the xbox 360 live. Coop is fun two because you get 10 people instead of 5. It is a little harder, but this game has plenty of surprises, difficulties, and challenges I would highly recommend this game. So if you want a world war two game, and your budget is low, get this one, it's a great one. Thank you for reading this review, and please, take my advice, get this game.
@5 almost unrivaled cost/hours of enjoyment ratio
Let me start by saying I own Modern Warfare 3 and Halo Reach. When I got my first xbox360 (manufactured in 2005 don't even get me started on microsoft if it wasn't for a buddy on live exclusively ...) I downloaded the demo of this game. I generally enjoyed the demo but was underwhelmed by the graphics, I had just purchased a next gen after all and at the time was more interestead in games that I felt better utilized that extra processing power. What I missed out was the golden age of the Outfit which is a shame. All the Outfit's strengths lay in it's multiplayer splitscreen/online/splitscreen-online which is a problem because the Outfit online community has dwindled down to we little few. It may be sad but if you're interestead in playing online be prepared to friend people on the fact that they play the outfit alone. The strength of the Outfit's multiplayer gameplay is it's mixture of rts aspects of money management and defensive emplacements, it's 3rd person shooting with squad commands, and 3 tiers of vehicles. The game's faults lay mainly with the semi wonky controls, although to be honest I received some enjoyment on just mastering the vehicle controls alone. There may be some slight balancing issues but other that this is an excellent for anyone that enjoys shooter and RTS. In closing the map packs are free DLC and it also has the feature of being one of the earliest examples of destructible enviroments. Scoop it up to play with a brother or a buddy and look me up online. - Mathius82
I LUV this game! OMG!
This game is action packed! Me and my brother just played the demo for 4 hours straight on one map! Now tht we both have the full game, it get's much better! You can strategically place anything anywhere you want. For example, place a turret on a hill to cover a small island, or place artillary at your base so no tank can get inside. This is like a RTS game on the ground. Instead of building moving units, you make instalations. Like turrets. Another cool part is, is that you can destroy almost anything. That tank on the bridge getting you mad? No problem! Air strike the bridge, or blow it up with your explosives of some kind. Boom! Destroyed! Along with a vital route to your base for the enemy! This game is amazizing! Really! It is! I say this is a must buy!
I played the co-op with my friend and instantly fell in love with it. I would recommend it to anyone who likes third-person-shooters, WWII games, strategy games, or any type of simple yet fun games. It's an intense, simple, fun game that puts you in battles as America's elite and what's cool is you can airdrop anything from vehicles, turrets, or squads in to help you complete any task. Other than that it is an awesome tps with a cool storyline and non stop action. It also has fun multiplayer and co-op modes. You can play as a variety of characters each with different weapons and equipment. This is a great game if you are in the mood for playing a quick and different game or even for playing an intense and expansive one. You gotta try it, you won't regret it.
THQ’s and Relic’s The Outfit is the digital version of the original plastic army men wars. The Outfit is chock full of grey versus olive drab battles, featuring the units gamers both loved and loathed back in those simpler times. And yes, gamers can set the enemy ablaze, but you won’t need a lighter fluid to start this fire; Mr. Flamethrower packs his own flammable liquid. It’s hard to call The Outfit anything but next-gen, as the sheer depth and open sandbox level design would have struggled to run properly on the big black box. But next generation gameplay doesn’t necessarily guarantee that people are going to buy into the real time, strategic action genre that The Outfit has carved out on the Xbox 360.
today i went and picked up this game and loved it. all i can say is that this game rocks and know its only 5 bucks so i say you go and pick it up now
Outdated. Some fun, but it doesn't last.
This game is old and naturally it is not going to stand toe to toe with more modern games. It reminds me of Nintendo 64 generation games in the way it feels and plays. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but with so many other (better) games out there to get... why bother?
The gameplay itself is actually pretty fun. Basically you go from objective to objective capturing them and getting points while doing so. These points can be used to call in reinforcements and various war machines, many of which are difficult to drive and can die easily. This concept is fun for a while, but I don't think you would get more then a day of play out of this game before it gets old.
Everything else about the game just isn't quite up to par. There are situations that are difficult to fight your way through, enemies spawn behind you a lot, every scenario is basically the same, the enviroments do not change, there are only 3 playable characters with no choice in weapons or customizable features, the story is not so good... I could go on, but you get the idea. Yes it is old and this is understandable... but I would say if you want good quality gaming and/or lasting fun... look elsewhere.
P.S. If you do get it, get it with a friend. It is a lot more fun and you will get more out of it.
I WANT TO PLAY OUFIT AGAIN SO BAD.
I REMEMBER THIS GAME TO ME THIS GAME WAS THE FUNNEST GAME ON EARTH BEST GAME EVER.
Great WWII Game
I love third person shooters and this is an intense third player shooter. I love this game and think that is great considering how many years ago it was made. the graphics are wonderful for that time and I love how I call in tanks during battle. Overall Great.
