One of the best games ever
this game is awesome u should get it and if u like games like gta and mafia 2 the U SHOULD GET THIS GAME NOW totally worth it plus u get to make ur own guy
The Godfather is a game based off quote "best movie of all time." While the game may not be as good as the movie, it sure is a great experience. In the game you play as a boy whos father was killed by a mob leader, Don Corleone takes care of you and ensures you will get revenge. The games fighting and shooting mechanics are executed superbly with analog stick fist combat and simple but fun shooting mechanics, you can also interact with the enviroment by throwing men out windows or smashing their heads on desks or walls. The game has a Gta enviroment where you can go anywhere you want and you dont have to do the missions but can still have plenty of fun. The graphics on this game are par so dont be expecting any high quality graphics. The sound is fair in this game as well. Some of the missions are really hard while some are failry easy. In all this game is worth a buy and a rent at least and will give you a few weeks of enjoyment.
I am a huge fan of all the Godfather's, and i must say, i thought this was a excellent game. Even though it was lagging in the graphics department a lil bit. I really must thank microsoft for making for the 360, it was a great addition. I really like the length and the overall authentic-ness of the story. It was good how they inserted a few actual Godfather charecters into the story because it adds some drama and also some great feel for actully being in the mob. Its great how you start out as a small time theif and eventually you get accepted into the Corleone family and can rise through the ranks until you are eventually don of the family. Even though they have already come out with a second Godfather, i highly reccomend this one instead, it has a better feel and an overall better story.
This game is amazing because it got a lot of cool missons you can do. A similar game would be GTA because that game you do the same thing but it's in a different time line. The god father is based on the 50's and 60's. The game is pretty much on the family. You go to a sertin location and there is a video were the guy tells you what you have to do and where to go. There's a map to show you were your at and where you have to go to make the game easy to beat. The game is'int easy to beat there are a lot of difficult missons you go throw when you play. After the last misson you can just fool around and do side missons. I have the game for xbox 360 and I prefer you get it for that system because it has better grafics. Althow the game is awsome you learn somthing about the italans and what they did with the mofea. The game is all out amazing. You can drive cars and old style cars around Italy when it was in the 60's so it's prety old neborhood. The game is awsome because there are a lot of cariters you meet. That's why you should get the game the god father.
The Godfather fails to do movie justice
This video game is fair in my opinion, it is goo for those who are into the mafia like myself, but it fails to show the true life of a mobster, because although the game advertises choosing to negotiate or fight it is all fight. Within a little gameplay the game gets very repetitive and the storyline is good but not amazing and that is where this game fails because you never get that genuine Godfather feeling in it that Coppalla brought and so the game feels rather uninspired and more intent on taking advantage of peoples love for The Godfather movies instead of doing the movie justice. Some praise I have for this game is that the graphics are very good, not award-winning but great, and I liked how the makers were crafty enough to insert a character into the godfather that was instrumental in the Corleones history, which is good because this allows you to not be bound to the actions that someone such as micheal had done, and still keep it believable. In all, the game was good but did not do what I had hoped it would for The Godfather community.
While dated, The Godfather is a game that is fun to play. Originally released on the Playstation 2, I spent quality hours playing this game and enjoyed nearly every moment of it. Much of the missions tend to repeat themselves, like any "Sandbox World" games do, but it is a lot of fun to fight your way through a building held by a rival Mafia family to take it over and add it to your growing Mafia empire. Many of the original actors of The Godfather movies lent their voices and likenesses for the game, with the exception of Al Pacino who lent his likeness exclusively to the barely above mediocre Scarface: The World Is Yours game. If you're a fan of the movies like I am, you will really miss the likeness and voice of Al Pacino as Michael. If you have a Wii also and want to purchase a version of this game, I recommend getting the Wii 'Blackhand' version instead of the 360 - it has some pretty interesting controls and allows you to have a crew of wiseguys that help you out. If you don't have a Wii as well then you should pick this version up and give it a whirl. You won't be disappointed. Welcome to the Family.
As Good As the Movie
The Godfather is a masterpiece. It really lives up to its expectations. The games graphics are better than those of the PS2. The gameplay is the same as the PS2, so no new changes to it. It's pretty much the same as PS2: great plot, great story mode, great action, great graphics. It really is worth the $15.
The Godfather is one of my all time favorite games, I own it on both xbox and xbox360. I prefer the 360 version because it has better graphics and more content, extra missions etc. It is an excellent game from start to finish, gotta love the open world GTA style of play. you have the choice how to handle most situations which is excellent as well. as for the story line and setting, The storyline is good because it sticks pretty close to the movies, the developer did an excellent job creating the 1940s-1950s setting, from the actions of the people on the streets, to the way they dress, right down to the vehicles. The combat is excellent in that you have your choice to fight with your fists or using the melee or a weapon. the main thing for me tho is the replay value that I would rank as VERY VERY HIGH. Ive beat it on both systems a couple of times and I still keep playing and I'm sure you will too.
Beautiful game. I loved it for PS2 and I love it even more now. This game makes me glad I got an XBOX 360.
awesome game, probably the the most influential and B.A. game I have ever played.
