Rated 10 out of 10 by Lambo808 Great game could a little better
First off this game is pretty good. The cars workm just fine and they don't take forever to turn or react to your control. But one hting is the cars are really, REALLY overpriced. I mean $1,000,000 (McLaren F1) for a car that a motorcycle ($30,250). Alos the paint jobs are also very over priced. For a McLaren F1 $50,000 for ONE paint job! But one the good side the graphic aren't too glichy and the sound is really good. Also if you want to customize your car all you can do is choose the package. You can't like choose what kind of engine or whatever. Also if you just hit ONE single car you automaticly are wanted. But the bad part is when your trying to get away from the cops all yo9u have to do is drive off the road and they won't chase you into the bushes and stuff. Also the race have some unblieveably fast if it wasn't for me have a fast car i would have lost. I mean 128 miles in 60 min. that's like 30 seconds a mile. But overall this game is awsome and i would recommend it to anybody. Go racin'.

Test Drive Unlimited is a great game, and the Graphics are great! To make this an even better game, they could have added more "tracks" instead of open road racing. They are fun, but there should ALSO be closed course tracks as well. Also, they could have used more customization. This includes things like added body parts, such as wings or spoilers, bumpers, body kits, a variety of more rims, etc. I am not at all saying that this game is bad, I'm just saying things to consider for future games. I think that the marketplace car packs are great. They help mix up the variety so its not just the same old cars over and over again. It also adds to the spirit of the game. If you download a car pack with a car you like, you are more likely to challenge yourself to get that car. This is a great game. I would recommend it to any of my friends (already have and they all bought it) or anyone else I know or see that likes racing games, or games in general. This game is really great!
Rated 10 out of 10 by guesswhatmyrealnameis This game is the best racing game out there.
This game is the absolute best racing game I've ever played. The graphics are amazing, and so is the detail of the cars. Everything about them is exact and precise. Gameplay is awesome for people who have a love for cars as I do. They are real-life cars in real-life locations, so in a way, this game is as real as it gets. Its very realistic and I think thats one of the big things the makers of the game were going for. There are different levels of competition when it comes to the racing, but for casual driving its a one-size-fits-all kind of thing, you just have to choose your own speed, or a slower car. You can also buy new houses, buy and change clothes and much more. But to sum this all up, this game is perfect for the causal or hardcore gamer, depending on how you want to play it. You can go for more of a real-life simulation game or an adrenaline pumping racer. But for either one, this a great racing game and I cannot wait for Test Drive Unlimited 2 and expect alot out of it because of how great the first one really is.

Test drive unlimited is the greatest game for the 360. Ive had it since december 2006 and i can still play this over any other racing game that has come out. Its not about customizing but more about living and racing. You get your own house, get your own clothes, and have all these classy cars, not cheap cars that you need to fix up to make it any better. If you like games such as Need for Speed or Juiced 2...then you're not gonna enjoy this. But if you like PGR4 or Gran Turismo, for all the playstation people, then you'll enjoy this even more. There are a lot of cars and the best thing about it, all the open road. If you don't feel like racing then you can just cruise the 1000+ open miles and trust me, you will never get bored of this game. It's worth the money so get it now if you haven't already..even though there is a new one coming out its probably a good 6 months away so get this game and trust me you won't regret it. I know i didnt.

This is one of the best racing games I ever played! Overall, Atari could've done more work with this game, here are a few examples: 1) while in a pursuit, if a cop tries to broadside you, it counts as you hitting him, and you have to pay for it. 2) There is no car damage on the player's car, all damage is done on street signs and civilian cars. 3) There is hardly any car customization. Sure some cars get a huge variety of colors, a few interior choices, not a lot though, and hardly any cars allow you to change the rims.
As a result from this game, I am pleased, but not satisfied completely. I hope Atari has greatly improved atleast the pursuit bug, and car customization limitation.
While on a good side, Atari did do pretty good to simulate real experiences, hitchhikers, car deliveries, etc. Also, there is no "NOS" in this game, which I really liked, because that means the AIs can't get that cheap shot to get ahead of you. I loved this game far more than any of the Midnight Clubs and Need for Speeds! Again, this was the best of all racing games I have, and I just cant wait til February!!!
Rated 10 out of 10 by OozySpartan117 A thurough review of TDU
TDU is an open world racing game that features a good variety of cars from exotics to good old American muscle. You start off the game by picking a character that you will race, customize, and of course win money with. After choosing your "Driver" you immediately get on a plane to Hawaii. And once you land you get off and go to a rental agency for a car. And if you've guessed right you then go to a real estate agency which with about two hundred thousand buy your dream house. Although there are only two houses that you can purchase they are still very nice houses, and after purchasing your dream house you buy your very own car. Then the fun part, you start you're racing career buy doing courier missions, transports, circuit races, and running from cops which is a *huge* challenge if your pursuit level is maxed out. Now the summary. TDU is a very fun game that even the casual gamer will enjoy. The controls are reasonable, the graphics are breath taking, and there must be hundreds of cars to choose from. But if you're looking for a sim please try forza, but if you like any type of racing then this is the game for you!
Rated 10 out of 10 by TDUPLAYER Awesome Game!!!!MUST BUY!!!
This is one of the best games on the Xbox 360 market. You have a variety of cars to choose from and it is a challenge to get some of the best. You have hundreds of races that you can win and repeat to get money. Its Multiplayer is awesome but you need to be online to enjoy it. You can free roam on Oahu in a 1000 mile roads. This is totally worth its price and should try it out. This is one of those games that you try and you want to play again. It is worth a try and you will keep on playing, the houses are awesome, Cars are awesome with very nice sounds, and you will have fun going 200mph down the highway or cruising up a mountain. In this game you will never be bored since there are so many things that you can do. You will not regret buying it, worth every single penny.
Rated 1 out of 10 by GameStop Man I do not want this fake sims auto
Due to limited of vehicle customization, all you have to do is just drive around with no tuning of upgrade with race. Graphics were very good but they do need more improvements on the driver's view. Soundtracks were good. When you playing this game, what you can do is just change basic exterior of car like car color and changing wheels. Aww, its control is very limited. This one have too much of sacrifice on the other thing instead of race on control. Having a club on online was kind of ok. Due to interface, you can also change the character's shape and clothes. Variety of tracks were fine. They do not have lots of vehicles on this game. They have to make this kind of game much better than combine between racing game and sims if they will be make next version.
Rated 9 out of 10 by MacB Not a core racer
This is a free-roaming racer. In reality it's not much of a racer at all. You pretty much drive around the island looking for ways to make money and buy more cars. There is no story to speak of. (Does a racer need one?)
The graphics are good, but nothing spectacular. The cars look good enough, and the scenery is nice. There is a decent selection of music to play and the cars sound great.
There really isn't much to the gameplay. Drive your cars and run missions. Most missions are "transport X from spot A to spot B". There are a few different varieties of races, but they should be fairly easy if you have the right car and setup.
I noticed someone earlier said the cars handle like "a boat loaded with furniture." This is true for some of the vehicles. It all depends on the car you select. You really have to pay attention to the car ratings, but those won't always accurately indicate how the car performs. Some cars are just horrible to drive, but the handling isn't always bad. It just depends on the car.
All in all, this is a fun game. It's not a serious racer, so core gamers beware. For anyone else this will be fine. My entire family plays it, so we compare cars and accomplishments. Perfect for casual and family gamers!
Rated 1 out of 10 by Banefull Failure at its finest.
First I must admit that I was suckered into this game by the demo, it actually seemed like it would be a good game, however it is the furthest thing from being even remotely well made. e.g. The cars handle like boats with furniture tied down all over them, your car literally seems to hover an inch or two above the ground.
Second the dumbest activities are in to occupy (waste) your time such as escorting ugly looking women and men around because why I don't know every time I saw that it was like your character stalks them or something else creepy.
Honestly I lost money trading it in but I was glad to be rid of the terrible game, I hated every second of it.
