Rated 9 out of 10 by RandomGuy Much better now, deserves a better rating!!!!!
The old TDU 2 deserved a 5.9 rating, the new TDU 2 gets a 10 in my opinion, now that the exploration expansion pack has been released. The best thing about this DLC is they have fixed the handling physics of the cars and made it a better experience to drive . Now you can actually handle the cars/trucks better on and offroad. They have also improved on the graphics( some ppl may not agree, but I see a difference) and they have fixed multiplayer connectivity, added 20 new missions, 2 new cars to find, etc. Also, there are new car and bike shops in game, which will be activated in later DLC. You can now join a server with your friends and stay together in free ride without getting kicked from the session. I was about to trade this game in and im so glad I waited, because now this game is an appropriate sequel to its predecessor and has great value. If you don't believe what I am saying just do yourself a favor, pickup the game, and download the free exploration pack and see the changes for yourself.

Do not waste your money on this game
The game has been out for a week now and two of the big features of this game still have bugs, The Club and the Casino. Atari has taken down the club because users have found a way to exploit a glitch. A week later they still have not fixed it.
Most of the decent-nice cars cost $200,000 and the races Atari put in the game you get 80-100k. You have to win 3-5 championships just to buy a house that holds 2 cars.
TDU 1 was fun because there were several ways to earn money and you could replay a lot of races and earn money. In TDU 2 they put in side missions which take too long and don't earn you anything.
The customizing options that were selling points are terrible in this game.
And last but not least the racing dynamics suck, handling is terrible and your car handles like its driving on ice with summer tires.
Save your money and buy something else, game isn't worth it until Atari can fix the bugs and add more ways to earn money.

I have owned this game for a few years and it's absolutely very fun. A tremendous amount of detail has been put into each car and the graphics and sound are just amazing. The challenges are fun and the map is expansive. Although my overall opinion stands, I will admit there are a few things ruining the experience. Right from the beginning, it seems like the game is run off of cut scenes involving a lot of annoying dramas. This game also seems like it has no clue what it wants to be. Part of it wants to be a fun car game and the other, a terrible RPG. The game forces all sorts of places like weird hairdressers and plastic surgeon clinics to change your character. It seems to me that a game with this many cars with that much detail should be more car focused then character focused. Aside from this, races are fun, graphics are beautiful and the physics is great. I'd still consider this despite the drawbacks. By the way, I'd get this on PS3. My XBOX doesn't secure the disc and because of that, I went through 3 copies of this game.
Rated 2 out of 10 by LouK absolutely horrid....
ok, where to begin.... they said they were revamping the entire handling system..... uhhh, no not really. all they did was make "hardcore" mode more grippy compared to the first one, offroad is marginal at best. why cant i use my lancia delta in an offroad race?????? and why does it sound like the 1970 challenger from the original. you cant change the controller layout and the standard layout sucks, Y= upshift, B= downshift, and X = handbrake. that is just horrible hand placement for downshifting/drifting quickly, draw distance is fair, but have noticed random crashes into nothing. the v6 camaro and ss camaro almost sound identical (WRONG) shifting in its own right should not take 4 seconds per gear. up or down, should be way faster, especially since the ferrari you drive at the start is a paddle shifter. and the guy walks too freakin slow (and no you cant make him run) all in all, game is not worth 50+ bucks, wait for it to drop.... sad i preordered.
Rated 8 out of 10 by tgwake1 Decent Game but HUGE Problems
I would personally wait on this game. I was so excited that there was a sequel, but what I was not prepared for was all the bugs. The gamplay is decent but again there are things wrong: cars don't match up to their real life counterparts in transmission shift times. The sound is not realistic to each car. Cars handle EXTREMELY arcade like. Graphics... are ok nothing spectacular. Right now their are numerous problems. Car Clubs are not up and running 2 months after release. The free cars you get after you put in the code have yet to show up in the used car dealer. The casino works....30% of the time. The multiplayer works 20% of the time, and racing with friends I have yet to even get a chance to try that because my friends and I cannot seem to connect. Once they fix all these issues (Atari has not given any ETA) it will be worth buying, but right now save your money. Atari and Eden Games hyped this up like crazy but delivered a broken game.

I bought this, thinking it was gonna be similar to the first TDU, different, like completely! The handling engine sucks (according to most peoples' and my opinions), has decent graphics (weather effects, headlight range, etc could be improved), and the car selection is "ok". I like how Atari and EDEN added in cars from the '80s, but the majority of the cars are pretty much just the high end performance and exotic cars -- not to mention that Atari/EDEN couldn't put in the Corvette C6 and/or Z06 (the two i miss the most). I really like how with the first you could drive around "mediocre" and way more classic cars (Atari/EDEN only put in European classics, and the Mustang Fastback and the Corvette C1 from the '50s), I really miss being able to drive the '67 Stingray (might have ballparked the year), the SSR (Chevy pickup from TDU), and the Corvettes as mentioned. With all the bugs many people still see, all thats worth doing is driving a car to put miles on it. The game is full up broken and/or unfulfilled promises, and just isn't worth the money.

I got this game when it first came out i was really excited when i got it. It is a Fun game i like that it is an open world so when your driving around and if your online you will run into other players. but the thing is when you drive around you can lose your friends because when you drive so far it switches you to a different server you can link your self to that player so it wont do that ,but it does not all ways let you do that. They should let you pick a world and stay in that world and not switch the server on you i think they did a really bad job on that aspect of it, the game does have glitches that they need to fix... idk if they will... there have been some complaints after you play sometimes it will delete your file this has not happened to me but it happened to some of my friends. But i think they fixed it in the last update.
Other then that lol i like the game =D
its fun you get i am going to call it points but you get points for driving around on new roads and things, and much more. but you can find out if you get the game or don't.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Fordmuscle11 Car lovers (racer, cruiser, all) should own
To start off the servers are being worked on so it might be a few trys to get into a friends game and multiplayer races, BUT the gameplay from tournaments to free roam are amazing. I LOVE cars and the thrill of owning so many cars and being able to cruise around with friends not having to be in a race, having car clubs, having multiplayer clubs just amaz me how this MMO car game fills the spot of being a car person enough to not have to go out all week spending money on gas and maintenance on my car and being able to save up for my procharger =D. Give it time and i promise any car person will love this game when they relize how much you can do in the game that you do in real life daily. -Could put some more DLC's in for more cars, street bikes, so on but for the start of this game good job! The casino is also being worked on but is a great way to keep you in the game with roulet, slots, and two other card game sections, texas hold em' being one, havnt seen the sit and go tables yet. SO OVERALL BUY AND GIVE IT TIME TO GET BUGS WORKED OUT itll turn out to be the WoW of cars.
Rated 2 out of 10 by Greene Broken Game
Lets be real people this game is terrible, the graphics have improved slightly from the first, the gameplay is just bad. The sound engine sounds like RC cars. The handling on cars is like driving an Eighteen Wheeler. The car selection sucks, what is the deal with all the high end cars? I want to drive cars like American muscle, BMWs, Lambos, and more selection of SUVs wouldn't hurt... and some trucks too. This game lacks so much it's hard to find anything good about this game, and don't get me started on the online... online play is a joke. Some of the game breaking glitches that were in the game to start with took at least a full month to fix! And there still are BAD glitches in this game! The Casino servers were bad... it was impossible to get into any game with a friend or random to play one stinking game of poker! Not looking forward to TDU3 by any means... if there is a TDU3.
Rated 8 out of 10 by Talon400 TDU2 is like going on your dream vacation
overall I have enjoyed TDU2. I played the first Test Drive Unlimited and found myself getting bore and even nodding off during game play. In TDU2 the fun starts right way and will continue as you progress. there is some much to do in this game from finding wreaks, driving off road, putting sticker on your favorite cars, and even winning cash while driving dangerousness. You can a entire day exploring and finder what's around the next corner. The islands are beautiful and massive. the in game weather and night effects really bring the game to life. The two radio stations are good to listen to for about hour then it's time to turn them off and just listen to the glorious REVs of your engines. my only complaint with this game is the Racing licenses. They're too ridiculous hard to win and you almost never use the skills you learn from them in any of the events that follow.
