Ok, this is by far the best Tekken of the series. It has amazing graphics, sweet characters, and will keep you playing for hours. For those who put that the game has a poor challenge, you need to put the game on ultra hard and put it on 5 round matches, then write how the challenge is. I am an excellent player, and was stuck for hours trying to beat it. The biggest downfall that I have seen with the game is the controls. Since I use the dpad I find that because of the bulkiness of the control, my character has a tendency to jump or duck when I don't want them to, and it will also interfere with some of the moves that I try to do. The online system is also very good, especially with the latest update that came out recently which allows you to accept or decline the challenge acording to the connection level to your challenger. Only thing that I haven't seen yet that I definitely would like to see would be some additional background stages to play on. Especially some of the older classic stages. Hon Maru, The Crater, Moonlit Wilderness, etc...
A Great Follow Up To An Iconic Series
Tekken has always been a standout fighter in my opinion, any fighting game fan would love this game without a doubt. The expansive 40 character roster is more than enough to keep any player constantly learning new tricks to crush the competition. The gameplay and move lists fit each character's personality and each fighter brings something new to the roster. On the other hand the customization mode is bland and outfits are non transferable (say you think Jin has a costume that Hwoarang would look good in as well, to bad only Jin can have it), the story mode is also very vague and in the end its just mindless fighting amid unexplainable chaos. The Scenario mode can get a little repetitive and the unlockables are just costume parts, Button mashers will fare well against an experienced players but button mashing can be overcome thru strategy. Hardcore fighters and casual gamers alike will not be disappointed Tekken 6 is just an all around good time.
A solid game overall
Tekken 6 is one of the best installments in the Tekken series. The graphics are better than those in Tekken 5, which shines in HD. The controls are responsive, with little to no lag time in inputted commands. Characters liek Jin Kazama and Bryan Fury are back in their usual flair, bringing a whole set of personalites to the series. The downsides to the game are the lackluster storyline in Scenario Campaign, which could have be better if the people who worked on Urban Reign handled the story mode. While there are unlockables in the game, they are only the kind players would expect (endings, alternate costumes, etc). There is no attempt to bring some fresh new kind of hidden content in the game. The option to customize your favorite characters is very nice, as I enjoyed customizing characters such as Asuka Kazama to look like Jun Kazama of Tekken 2 and Tekken Tag fame. Overall, no fighting game fan should be without Tekken 6 in their collection. To leave Tekken 6 out of your gaming collection would be a real shame.
Not that good
I really liked the game for its offline two player mode. When you go online there aren't many people online and theres a lot of lag. The story mode is awful. Plus there are secret achievements that I don't understand. It's somewhat challenging but what made me hate it was when I picked up a weapon. It ruins the game. Guns are for shooters. Arcade modes are fun to play and the game has a feature where you can buy stuff for your characters and put them on. You can unlock some in story mode or with battle money buy them. The sounds really good. I would recommend buying this to people with family or roommates to play with them offline because that is the only good part of the game. If your looking for a game with a good storyline thats fun to play. Look elsewhere. The controls are complicated at first but its a fighting game. There made that way for more moves. Somewhat of a good game but could've easily been better. Tekken 7 hopefully will be much better at basic game play and story.
Tekken 6 is an amazing fighting game, it's for fans of the Tekken series and newcomers alike. It has the same old fighting it has had for 10+ years and the revamped customize feature from Tekken 5. It also has a brand new mode called Scenario Campaign, it's somewhat like the Tekken Force modes from Tekken 3 and Tekken 4 but with custimization, better graphics, gameplay, and boss fights.
a unique fighting-stategy game
tekken 6 is pretty unique, because it also has an advanced solo-campaign mode where you can pick which fighter you want.it is also like an arcade-style fighting game.i would recommend it to anyone..
The Legend that keeps giving...
I was 5 when the very first Tekken was released, my older brother got a ps1 when I was 5. We got 2 games with our Ps1 for christmas. Crash Bandicoot 2 and Tekken 1. I loved playing as King as a young child and smashing the X and Square buttons like crazy over this game. Through the years every x-mas I picked up the next game in the series. When I hit the 5th grade Tekken made what seemed to be its last installment in the series known as Tekken 5. This game blew my mind. But I wait and waited for the next game. Then now 5 years later Im a Sophmore in high school and here the game comes I reserved this game as soon as it was announced. I am a big fan of Tekken every since i was a child and I can stop playing tekken for a year and then play it again remembering the controls since the game is so easy to get used to. If you are deciding upon buying this or street fighter, this game will give you so much more, graphics have always been phenomenal and the game has a rich reward system. Highly Recommend for New comers or Fans of the series.
Best Fighter of the Decade
When i went to my local gamestop today i was going to either get Batman Arkham Asylum or Tekken 6. I made the right choice. Even though Batman Arkham Asylum has only gotten great reviews it is still missing one thing the arcade fighting multiplayer. There are many characters in Tekken 6 even from the start. I feel its the best fighting game i have played since Super Smash Bros Brawl. I have not gotten that far in the story so my view so far is not that accurate. So far it has been perfect. It has so far been very hard to stop. My favorite thing about the story is that the farther you get the more characters you unlock. Once i beat the story ill take my skills online. Overall Tekken 6 is a game that every xbox 360 owner should atleast rent if not buy.
Tekkan has come a long way from just an invintive fighting game where there are only two people cool enough to play as in the game. It has over 40 characters to play as an interesting story with a new fighting mode that seems to work along with each characters own iron fist tournament storys. You also get an inside story of the mishima clan and the storys of the other tekkan games with a lot of bonus material. This game shows us that the Tekkan series isnt over by a long shot and if they keep up with the good arcade style games they wont die. When will people learn the importance that the tekkan series has brought to the fighting series and still stays close to the top. So if you are a tekkan fan than i recommend you get this game when or after its cheaper.
Teken 6 Awesome!!!!
I'm not a fighter kind of player myself but I really did enjoy Teken 6. Although it doesn't change much from Teken 5, it is still a great game. The graphics and detail are amazing. And for some players out there, the scenario mode is actually enjoyable. I do admit some parts of scenario mode are a little bit challenging not to mention the "Attack of the Jacks". That Jack 8 model has some really powerful attacks but I never knew he could do the chicken. What I mean is when you reach the final boss he acts like a chicken while hes coming over the trucks. I guess thats his way of saying "I'm going to kill you and eat you for breakfast. Hes mainly uses his fist and it get pretty annoying when you don't finish him quickly because his attacks are powerful. As long as you have a handle on a few base combos you should be fine though. Of course I played it on normal and some would think he wasn't really much of a challenge. Some characters such as Alisa are hard to manage but once you master their moves its really quite satisfying. The characters are pretty much balanced. Even the kangaroo if you know how to use him. He has an interesting 10 hit combo and interesting because you have to press the buttons at a reasonably slow pace and in a certain way since I'm used to pressing the controls faster but once you get the hang of it, its not that difficult. Overall great game.
