The Dark Lord of the Sith himself has trained you to use a lightsaber and unleash the power of the Force, but now your destiny is your own. Will you join Vader as the next great Sith, or will you choose to defend peace and justice as a noble Jedi Knight? The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.

As its name implies, The Force Unleashed completely re-imagines the scope and scale of the Force by taking full advantage of newly developed technologies that will be seen and experienced for the first time: Digital Molecular Matter (DMM), by Pixelux Entertainment, and euphoria by NaturalMotion Ltd. Paired with the powerful Havok Physics system, these new technologies create gameplay only possible on the new generation of consoles. DMM incorporates the physical properties of anything in the environment so that everything reacts exactly like it should - wood breaks like wood, glass shatters like glass, plants on the planet Felucia bend like plants on the planet Felucia would, and more. Meanwhile, as a revolutionary behavioral-simulation engine, euphoria enables interactive characters to move, act and even think like actual human beings, adapting their behavior on the fly and resulting in a different payoff every single time.

During the period between Episodes III and IV, players hunt Jedi in the role of Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice.
Unleash and upgrade the Secret Apprentice's four core Force powers - Force push, grip, repulse and lightning - throughout the course of the game, and combine them for ultra-destructive, never-before-seen combos.
Examples of unleashing the Force in ways never thought possible:
- The Secret Apprentice won't just Force push enemies into walls - he'll Force push enemies through walls.
- The Secret Apprentice won't just Force grip foes to throw them aside - he'll Force grip them in midair, zap them with lightning, then drop them to the ground to explode like a bomb.
In addition to new adversaries created just for the game, such as fugitive Jedi and Force-sensitive Felucians, players will also confront and associate with familiar faces from the Star Wars films, including Darth Vader.
Visit locations such as Episode III's Wookiee homeworld Kashyyyk and the floral Felucia, the junk planet Raxus Prime, plus an Imperial TIE fighter construction facility.
Decisions made by players throughout the game will determine the path of the story, including multiple endings that will rock Star Wars continuity as they know it.
The Force Unleashed is LucasArts' first internally developed title for next-generation consoles, and it represents the first in-game collaboration of talents and technology between LucasArts and Industrial Light & Magic, two companies now finally under one roof at the new Letterman Digital Arts Center in San Francisco's Presidio district.
The Force Unleashed debuts Digital Molecular Matter from Pixelux and euphoria behavioral simulation from NaturalMotion Ltd.
LucasArts is preparing an unprecedented promotional effort around the launch of The Force Unleashed, encompassing a full line of toys and game-based action figures from Hasbro, as well as a full publishing program from Dark Horse, Del Rey and Palace Press.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is really a game for kids ages 8-12. The only thing that I was pretty impressed with were the graphics. Not bad for a Star Wars game. Still not the best I've ever seen, though. The plot is pretty good. The game itself is real short. You'll beat it within a few days. After that, you'll want to trade it in or give it away. Definitely not a must -have, that's for sure. It's good if you bought every really good game for yourself and only have $7.99 plus tax left to get something for your 9-year old nephew. If you are a teen or adult, I wouldn't recommend it.

Ok, I admit it, Im a Star Wars dork.This game is no KOTOR, but it satisfies the rouge sith urges.I will most likely play this one again, it has a good storyline (not the sequel).This game is worthy of the franchise, and I recommend it to any star wars fan.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

The Force Unleashed is magnificent. The graphics on the first (TFU) are good, not as good as the second but, they are still very good. There is DLC for this game, it consists of 3 maps, where you can play as evil or good guys. Maps are Tatooine, Jedi Temple, and Hoth. The DLC are some maps that would take you into the movies with new characters and get to play them. This game has some time behind it, if you may have played the second on before this, you won't be disappointed to back track to play this title. As the graphics are good, controls are the same, story line is good, and you will put more time in this game in order to beat it than the second. If you want the full story of whats going on I Recommend playing this one before 2 or you maybe lost as to who is who and how you got where the second one picks up at. Some of the names in both games are in the movies. This game doesn't honestly connect any movies together, so don't expect that out of it. In all honesty the game is supposedly taking place between Star Wars 3 and 4, but it doesn't honestly bridge the two! Great game for kids and adults alike, and any Star Wars fan. You can use force powers, lightning, repulse, push, and many more to make your way through the stages and defeat the enemies. Custom customs are available to change your appearance, along with sabers, multiple colors to choose from, and different handles mean different boosts in points, health, damage, etc. I recommend this game to anyone who like action-adventures and/or Star wars in general.

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers

Let me start off by saying, sound was horrible. You can't really hear anything unless someone is yelling, good thing there is a subtitles option. Make sure that's on. Other than that the game is amazing, doing combos, impaling people with your lightsaber, and getting different lightsaber crystals (what color your lightsaber is). I loved this game and would reccomend it to anyone.

This game is awesome and I loved it but the only complaint is that once you beat the game and DLC there is nothing to do so unless you want to replay it a lot it is short but worth 10 dollars. The game is a Star Wars fan dream so I would get it even if you don't like star wars.

This game is very satisfying if you're in a mood for destroying. The powers you can use are awesome, and the different planets are cool. Though not a game you'll replay a lot, its a fun game to pull out from time to time. Awesome DLC as well, I'd recommend Jedi Temple.

I love this game. The fact that I can just go around and use the force to pick things up and through at people is just awesome to me. My only problem with this game is that there's not enough levels. Which means it's very short game play and you don't get as long of a story as you would want. if the game would of had like 15 levels or more I would have been more satisfied with the game. Also I would of liked it is they had like a little multiplayer mode for like dueling with past star wars character and the ones you came across in the story mode. other then that I would recommend this game to all Star Wars Fans in general.
