Splinter Cell: Conviction Collector's Edition
now that the delays are out of the way
This game could seriously compete for the GOTY award. It's visuals are not the best ever seen but it is definitely up there. gameplay looks smooth and ingrossing, but Ubisoft games have had problems with screen ripping before so let's hope they got that right this time. Story seems well developed into the franchise and bringing back key players such as Grim and Costa helps. To clear a few things up that the other posters have said, Sam is only 43 in Conviction and Ubisoft did this on purpose to keep the possibility of ANOTHER splinter cell game. The Delays have hit hard, but well worth the wait because that first showing with sam throwing chairs and people looked fun but it wasn't splinter cell. A Demo was suppose to be released but it appears that that idea has been scrapped as there has been no mention of it since it's original planned release in the beginning of Febuary (before the game was delayed for HOPEFULLY the final time). On 4/13/10 we will hopefully get the final verdict.
Ubisoft-the best ever?
Ghost recon, the assassins creed series and the splinter cell series- these are all single player games that rock big time, they all give you the player the feeling that you are actually the character in the game. Graphics, gameplay and presentation are all off the chart and are all my favorite games of all so much so that i keep them and replay them over and over over the years especially the splinter cell ones. Splinter cell conviction looks to take the title of best game of all time period...in any genre and i have been anxiously waiting its release since i 1st heard about it. Keep doing what you're doing Ubisoft. p.s. think about maybe making a ninja game in the mode of your assassins creed and splinter cell games it would be perfect for the mode of play...Ninja Assassin by Ubisoft? The thought of it makes me drool with excitement !!!
the reason for a 360
so i traded in my old 360 which was defected and got credit for a ps3. But now since i soo this video it made me cry because i should of never traded it in. A new and improve version of splinter cell and its only exclusive to the 360 i was so wrong in doing what i did. This game is gonna be a reason to why iam buying a 360 in the fall. As soon i as i soo the graphics the gameplay and the storyline i was so excited about it because this is going to be over the top for the 360. Its not just a game were all you have to do is run and shot at people, this time your climbing buildings, jumping inside windows, and knocking people head off!!! If your looking for a type rpg than good look up your but cuz no game is gonna stand against this splinter cell when it releases.
Good Game, But It Needs Better Multiplayer
This game is easy to play and it gets you into the action immediately. The cutscenes and the way the story is told through images projected on the walls really helps to bring in new players and catch them up on who Sam Fischer is and why you are on the mission. Although the story may be a bit over the top it is coherent and doesn't leave anyone with unanswered questions about loopholes in plot. The game mechanics have changed, a lot, from the earlier games. The action is fast. The controls are really great. the whole game has been improved. This is not the Splinter Cell of yesterday. It seems as though Ubisoft took the best of both worlds; fast-paced Assassin's Creed style adventure mixed with the old familiarity of Splinter Cell stealth style gameplay. The multiplayer is good but I think it could have been expanded and improved upon. Offering more missions would have kept people playing. The multiplayer could have offered more options like in the older games, capture the flag and such. The multiplayer is also glitchy and has connection problems. I would highly recommend this game. I would also recommend that other people who write reviews should consider their grammar and spelling usage and try to make the posts legible.
wow. just wow.
You know, i have waited for this game to come out for almost 2 YEARS!!!! Its ridiculous how many times it has been delayed! And this most recent delay after they said it would be a permanenet release date. Oh my god! It sucks! I was really really phsyched to play a game with no loading screens. EVER! But i mean its coming close to the point that im going to ask for my money back if it gets delayed agian. Having payed for the special edition in full, i could buy loads of other games with only like 20 more dollars, i mean really! its gotten to the point where theere isnt any anticipation for it anymore. I mean i have no doubt ill love it but its still the most ridiculous thing ever to be delayed what 6 or 7 times and still expect people to want it.
Splinter Cell : Conviction
Wow...I can only say wow as to how long this game has been in development. I believe it was originally planned to come out in Q4 2007, and it's now Q1 2010...I am a diehard fan of the series, as with Army of Two and Resident Evil, but I am beginning to lose faith in this installment. I think the gameplay is a step in the wrong direction, you have to think, Sam is around 52 years old, can he really move like that now? And the idea of making him a rogue agent is a little odd, maybe pushing the series to the 'Bourne Comparison' instead of Splinter Cell : Conviction. Don't disappoint Ubisoft!
Finally, a new game that you can enjoy single-player with!!
I cannot wait for this game, i have played all the others and now i can finally finsh sam fishers story!!!I also believe the game will be good for along time without even playin online for awhile. Thats very rare for games nowasays! Every game ive been buying the last two years, never any good single-player action, you always have to play online, and half he time its ont even fun!! But this games gonna be different, it will be revolutionary playin by yourself, or with friends! GO UBISOFT!!!, Biowares awesome, but ubisofts better:)
we all have to be patient for great things.
i don't agree with everyone that has been waiting for a long time for this game. why so long, i think it is because ubisoft wants to make it is perfect as possible. Everyone just take a minute and think. Ubisoft has set the bar very high. with the release of assassins creed 2 last year in my opinion ,set the standards high for them and all the hype for conviction comes from what, the gamers. so just sit back and relax because if it is another few weeks or few months, i believe ubisoft will deliver and we will not be unsatisfied.
A fight to the truth, through the darkness and light.
Well, I've been eagerly waiting for this game since it was announced, and the leaked photos came online. Once the trailer was up, that was it, I was sold. Being a 360 addict, I just told myself this was one of the games I wouldn't be caught DEAD without. Sam doesn't even need to come find me to buy the game, I'm gonna pre-order it soon enough. I signed up for the website and took a look at all of the exclusive videos and the features they have are all my favorite. I especially like the marking of enemies, where you can simply mark a few people and then shoot them off when you so wish. It makes moving into places silent and efficient, something you can't do with normal controls even with a high stick sensitivity. The alarms would still go off. There's nothing bad to say about this game, it's so epic that I believe this will be the game of 2010 that you just HAVE to get and shouldn't be caught dead without it. Mostly because if you've followed the game since the beginning, you'll really get into this because you're probably tired of getting killed in two shots from getting caught sneaking around just like me haha. Now you can take REVENGE! Anyways. The collector's edition looks equally fun and I just may end up copying all the files in the USB they give you to my Xbox and computer and use it as my own flash drive. Who would suspect my 'credit card' to be a USB drive? ;)A must get game for those that enjoy thinking of creative ways to eliminate your opponents.
Switched my reservation
I pre-ordered this game a few months ago, and I was anxious for a collectors edition. Right when I got an e-mail saying that there will indeed be a collectors edition, I went straight to gamestop to switch my reservation. This set is definately worth it, since it comes with extra content, metal case and art booklet. I was upset at the Splinter Cell: DA collectors edition. I'm glad ubisoft made a collectors edition that is worth it for a game that will be amazing.
