Spider-Man: Friend or Foe
this game was amazing. idk what all the other bad reviews were saying... i mean sure its short but thats why your allowed to do the missions again... i have now played this for x box 360 and playstation2 and both versions were amazing i would recommend this game to anyone especially kids i would say around ages 5-14 i love this game i play it all the time
Great games for kids!!
This is a great game, but it's not meant to be for just anyone. It's designed to be cartoony because it was intended for kids, and it is based on a Spider-man cartoon show designed for kids. It's repetitive, but the enemies do become more difficult as the game goes on. It's a great game for co-op play. You can upgrade Spider-man as well as unlock and upgrade 13 playable characters that work as "sidekicks." If you're overly serious about gaming, don't bother; this is not the same Spider-man as you'd see in "Spider-man 3" for the Xbox 360. But if you want a fun, light-hearted game to play, or a gift for your kids (especially if you want them to play together), then this game is an excellent choice. It's very simple, but it's still enjoyable.
This game feels sorta lazy. The achievements (THERE'S ONLY TWELVE?!??!) only took as long as it took to beat the game (2-3 hours) The graphics, okay, maybe original xbox worthy at best. There wasn't really much music, mostly the sounds of where you were. I liked the storyline though, the only part that didn't make sense was how the other marvel characters randomly fit in. TO me, that does not make much sense. There are very few upsides though. I think the co-op play was a cool touch, along with the upgradeable abilities. I also enjoyed searching for the little coins and knick-knacks for the achievements. I wouldn't recommend this to one of my buddies, but maybe for one of their little sons'. Not a bad game for a beginning gamer or for a 5-10 year old, or if you're looking for an easy 1000gs.
This is a great and enjoyable game overall. I love the way they added all the characters from marvel and more and stored them all into one game. It is a great way to add a new evolution to gaming. But this evolution to gaming is just the introduction, that's why it's a little shaky. I am hoping for a sequel or something else where they're all together again. The parts I don't like about this game are that it is WAY TOO REPETITIVE! In EVERY LEVEL of EVERY MISSION you at least fight about seriously 150 of those little blue things. It gets really annoying. And in almost every mission you do practically the same thing just in a different kind of stage (map) and way. But at the end you're looking for the same thing. Another positive aspect of the game though is the teaming up. It's cool to see them do a special together. Overall this game is cool, exciting and sometimes interesting. But it does get a little bit too repetitive.
Man this is so great!
I didn't now anything about it untill I saw a preview on the back of the spiderman 3 booklet and my brother has a 360 and he downloaded the demo and is a game I want bad because it is easy and it is fun and it's Spiderman anyway I love it.
Very Cool but too short
So I have some time off around Christmas and love Spiderman so I thought this would be a GREAT used game to buy. IT WAS- Storyline was great, loved the enemies you could add, lots of things you can modify (stats/powers/etc). My only negative is that is was WAY TOO SHORT. I beat the entire game in about 6 total hours of playing time. There are only 5 levels and each level has 4 parts. As I mentioned you can add enemies once defeated but some enemy you do not fight- they are just added once you beat a certain level. The Bosses were way too easy to beat- the only one that gave me any challenge was Rhino. I did enjoy how you could add new web powers to Spidey and upgrade their effectiveness. GREAT GAME overall but way too short. Couple of other things- Doc Ock was was of my favorite enemies to play with. All the enemies could hold Phantoms (the bad guys in the game) with a submission hold but Ock's was particualry cool with his tentacles. Venom had the best Boss level with three different Church Bell Sequenes- but again way too easy. Why didn't you have to beat Lizard to gain him? Spoiler Alert... very cool that Spidey dons the Black Suit at the end but Mysterio as the final Bad Guy?!? Too easy - why not Dr Doom
Got it for my birthday, i'd rather have the 20 dollars they spent on it. I don't know where to begin. I attempted hard to enjoy it. It's WAY to simplistic, very repetitive. My 7 year old daughter can play it. So if you are getting it for children then go for it. Basically you press B a lot. Here is the levels as I see it... I can't bare to go past the second level. You go to a room, door closes, spidey says something stupid, then you fight 6-8 guys, you beat them, door opens, then you go to the next area, same thing happens. The graphics are very bad being it's on a xbox 360, I would expect it from the original xbox or ps2. Might not look bad on a regular tv, but looks like garbage on my hdtv. The storyline is not engaging at all. The sound is ok, nothing revolutionary by any means, and spidey says the same things over and over and over. Overall it seems they wanted to make money off the spiderman franchise without any other thought then getting money from fans, and not actually thinking about making a good game. Sorry for those that liked it. I wouldn't waste my money on it to buy or even rent. Just stay away from it. If I was a reviewer I would give it a half a star out of 5.
weak and not held up
when i first rented this game, i thought it might be great. In the begining though, it was a little difficult to progress. plus, the storyline was absolutely pitiful. it was nothing like the spiderman that i heard of. it was the middle of the game that someone might have liked, because you got more powerful attacks and allies to help you. It was so weak when the characters talked, i mean that it did't even sound good. it was basicaly cartoony. It might have been a 6 on the challenge scale for new players, but as a hard core gamer myself, i rated it a 3. The controls weren't trash, but they weren't all great either. Mainly though, the attack controls worked better and faster than most games i played. Graphics. The XBOX has very good graphics by several different standards, but this game was -10. There was no detail at all, and it turned beatuiful ancient tombs into a big yellow blob. great forests into weak tall sticks. And in level 5, all four parts were so dark, i couln't see anything at all! If a sequal came out, i hope it would add more realistic detail to the game. The game was very short and should be much longer with more levels and more characters.
not that good of a game
i just played the demo of this game with my friend and this game was really bad in my opinon. the graphs were pretty weak even for a demo game. the diffculty was way to easy but then again that would b good for little kids. the cutscenes in the game didnt really tell my friend or i much of the story line but maybe that is because its a demo. this game in all is a buttom masher that u probably can beat in one night and this feels like a rip off of lego star wars. all in all i would only get this game for little kids or if u are a diehard fan of spider man
Don't Over Due Spidey!
I am a big Spider-Man fan and I have bought all games that involve the Web Head but now it seems that Activision is putting out too many Spidey games and I wasn't too impressed with Spidey 3. If your going to do a Spider-Man team up game then include characters that make sense: Daredevil, Punisher, Blackcat, etc.... I am not too impressed with the graphics but if the gameplay is fun then I can overlook them. In the future I would like to see a Spider-Man game based on the Marvel Universe and not the movies. So please expand NYC and let Spidey have complete freedom to travel all over the five boroughs along with the characters that appear in his world and give him more main baddies to fight i.e. Kingpin, Venom, Carnage, Electro, Hobgoblin, Sandman, Hydroman, and so forth and so forth.
