Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent, but not as bad as people say. I had seen many reviews on this game back in 2014. I actually wanted this game. So I decided to buy it. I can safely say that it wasn't a complete waste of my money. So, the story is not very solid. Repetitive kidnapping of Elise, plot holes, the "Shadow was destined to seal Mephiles!!!1!1" thing (Yes, I know this was originally a reboot.), it's just not good. The gameplay however, is good. Sonic's stages have great design, he isn't too fast for the stage, but the Mach Speed sections are unpolished and difficult. Shadow's gameplay is slower paced, and includes more attacking. I personally am indifferent to Shadow's gameplay. Then we have...Silver. The main reason why many people don't like this game. But...I feel like his style of gameplay fits right in. For starters, Silver is a new, slower character. Instead of reusing characters that are already made to GO FAST, which instantly makes this game MILES better than Sonic Boom: RoS, they created a new character. His gameplay is fun, but I wish it were more open, letting us create out own path to the goal ring. The buddy characters, I really don't like them. Tails has only one, boring attack, Rouge is the same thing, and Amy? Let's not talk about Amy. The visuals in the opening cutscene are beautiful, and the in-game models are decent for 2006. The music? Marvelous. All character themes are great, the level music tracks are spectacular, and the final boss theme is inexplicably brilliant. All-in-all, I think this is a good game. It holds up okay. With that being said, I wouldn't recommend this to others, as only some people can find enjoyment out of this.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Really boring and intro is too long. To be honest the game was REALLY boring. The intro was too long and the tutorial sucked. In all it wasn't worth my time let alone my money. My friends even said they wouldn't buy it and I bought it for my little sister. Lesson learned with this game.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Abysmal. Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), or its alternate name, Sonic 06, was a game I bought because I heard it was awful. Needless to say, the people were right. This is a pretty abysmal Sonic game considering what it does. It tries to bring the fast blue hedgehog to his roots with "fast paced" platforming, "good" music, and a "great" story. Problem is, none of this applies to this game. Sonic 2006 is an example of the great statement from Shigeru himself, "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad." My research has led me to the conclusion that this game was developed to coincide with the 360's launch with a ps3 version that came later. I will now discuss the aspects of the game. The story is pretty abysmal. To summarize it up, they travel to the past to erase this game from happening at the end. It's that bad. The music is, in my humble opinion, pretty bad. A lot of the melodies are poorly composed with there being only one or two good songs in the whole game. The level design, since this is a platformer, is terrible. Normally, a level would have good enemy placement, consistency with its textures, and such. This game has good consistency, but the level design doesnt work with the floaty turning controls and the enemy placement is just all over the place. The graphics are pretty okay for a game from 2006. The technical issues are all over, from the long loading times to the infamous Silver boss glitch. You'll switch characters in the middle of levels sometimes and it just...happens. Usually you can tell when this will happen because a character will just be...standing there, then a scene will play where the character announces it's their turn to be controlled. Personally I feel they should've kept this game as its original intention, which was not a sonic game for those unaware. This game is bad, and if you got it as a gift, I feel sorry for you. Just go and play Sonic Generations or Fallout 3 or something else. The experience won't be as bad as with Sonic 2006.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not nearly as bad as people say This game is truly an amazing Sonic game. The glitches aren't even that bad. Story is awesome. Great music. Fun gameplay and lasts long.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's alright.. The game is okay, but it has too many glitches, it took me awhile to beat this game. Some of the levels were fun.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Buy This This game is awful. Seriously. Awful. It was rushed to be released a year early, so the glitches of the game make it unplayable. The physics controls make no sense. The story line is creepy; Sonic has a physical relationship with a human. The controls are atrocious. The level design is abysmal. The "side-quests" are beyond unnecessary and useless. The only good thing about this game is the soundtrack. Actually not that bad. However, the gameplay ruins this game. The only reason this game should ever be bought is for comedic purposes. There is no other reason. TL;DR: DO. NOT. BUY. THIS.
