OKAY, its not an RPG! No sense in complaining about it now. It's not like MS and Fasa are going to scrap the project. Really, people need to learn that there are constructive times to argue and non-constructive times to argue. Yes, they used the title of Shadowrun and the game probably has no shadowruns the point has been made clear and no one really cares. What the game DOES have going for it is: 1) it is made by Fasa Studios, the same team that put together the award winning MechAssault series, 2) the graphics look great!, 3) the idea of blending FPS, magic, and a counter-strike purchase system is excellent, and 4) IT IS CROSS PLATFORM! Now I can log on with my non 360 friends and play together OR just hammer all those PC gamers saying how weak console controls are. If anything, hopefully when Fasa is done with Shadowrun they can get to work on MechAssault 3 for the 360 and maybe even the PC too after their experience with cross platform! What's not to like!

This game needs some good Buzz. This is an incredibly deep Multiplayer experience. Customization and blending of Tech and Magic for your character, different stats with four races equals many different ways to play, and the game play/modes begs you to be a teamplayer. Beta testers say the maps are the best they have ever played. Basically 4 minute rounds with one minute overtime. Upgrade in between rounds, first team to 6 wins! And Fasa/Microsoft has really balanced out the PC/360 control issue. RENT this game if nothing else. A demo for XBL will be available as well. Do not pass this over. Go read up at Shadowrun.com. I know many do not like the fact this is a shooter but there is a far bigger market for FPS than there are people who pen and papered this or even played some 32 bit takes on it. Shadowrun is one of those beloved little unknowns. I would love to see this truer to the original as well, but at least we got Bethesdas Fallout coming in a year or so : )

alright first off.. this game is a bad bad move for any fps player. All the console people are going to boast about how amazing they are comparative to PC players when in fact this game is not PC Compatable... YES YES I KNOW IT IS COMING OUT FOR THE PC, but the inability to be able to bind keys to your keyboard, or even adjust the slightest mouse sensitivity ( I mean at .01% ) to make it completely comfortable. Anyone who says that a controler will always destroy a mouse is outta their mind and simply can't handle a mouse. Twitch Game(rs/ing) have pin point timing and accuracy and don't have to wait for the hardware to move for you.. YOU CAN SLAM LEFT ON YOUR THUMB PAD ALL YOU WANT, it's not going to move any faster. So anyone who says you will destroy people w/ a controler vs a mouse you need to rethink that. If you want to put yourself to a true test, plug in your wired 360 and play cs, css, Quake 4 anything that isn't biased towards the 360.

this game is excellent for anyone who likes to play fps's that are different from the rest. The integration of magic and the choice of four different races is always changing up the game play. There is always changing stategies and techniques according to each player so the matches arent alwayys the exact same. There are no repetitve kill actions like in halo the infamous gun until you're close enough to melee, or in gears of war the shotgun and hope your connection is better than the other guy's so you get the kill. There is no camping in corners or rooms because magics eliminate that tacitic. the only down side i have experianced is no storyline. it gives a brief summery of what is suppose to be going on but there is no story other than training. i would not recomend this game unless you have a gold membership because playing agianst the game in a match could get boring really quik. the connection is excellent and gameplay is never gets boring.
Rated 0 out of 10 by A Customer Controller Vs Mouse & Keyboard
Someone made a few points I see. I feel the same way about the mouse & keyboard. It does get annoying after a while. I recently spent over one hundred dollars on a keyboard made for gaming and regret it. I don't think it was worth it because most of the key's are too soft and I still have trouble. As games become bigger with more features / things to do I find myself running out of buttons to pre-set. Have you ever played a clancy game on PC LOL ? Then you know what I'm talking about. I barely use the new keyboard for gaming though and I still use my wired 360 controller for PC games. It's cheaper and more reliable. I have all my main functions in the palm of my hand using a controller and I save the chatter for the keyboard. Sorry but the controller does have the mouse beat I just wish 360 had a keyboard. Oh I forgot you dont need it to talk he he he. I think I'm getting this for my 360. See you PC nerds out on the battle field !

First of all, this is an online only game, so the low score for the story mode really isn't bad. This game can be really fun if you are willing to put up with some of it's flaws. The graphics aren't bad, but they aren't pushing the 360 to it's limits. The gameplay is pretty good, albeit a little confusing, and the matches are fun. The combination of a shooter, with magical abilities available for purchase is a pretty cool idea. The classes are pretty balanced with traits and things, so nobody is ever too powerful. This is not everyone's game, but is only for gamers looking for a challenge, and it has a pretty steep learning curve. Once you've got all the controls down and such, then you can have a blast playing this. The achievements will keep you going for a long time. I've put over 45 hours into Shadowrun with a payout of only 270 gamerscore as a reward. Overall, this is a cult hit, and I like it, but it's definitely no GOW.

First and foremost... If you don't have Live, this game is pointless. A online game consists of players starting out like a normal RPG game... their stats are at zero and power and weapons availability are limited. In a 20-30 minute game (which is the standard game length) it is like a full-blown RPG that takes 40+ hours... shortened to 20-30 minutes. At the start, you pick your character class and as the game progresses and you get more kills, your stats will increase and more powers and weapons will come available. The stats do increase a lot faster than a game that takes 40+ hours. After the end of the game and you start a new one, your stats will be at zero once again. This game brings innovative gameplay to the table and will probably keep ypu busy during the summer. It will have big clan focus and is kind of a MMO because of the two factions you pick from ( Magic vs. Tech). You will always be fighting the other faction.

Sadly the company that owns the servers for it has gone bankrupt, so the servers are in a horrible state of disrepair. The servers constantly crash so no actual games can be played. Because of this the game's comunity has dropped to below 15 players. Hopefully another company will try and purchase the rights to the game and ressurect it. This is a great game. The graphics are decent and the gameplay is just plain fun. The aspect of being able to teleport through walls, people, and objects is just awsome. Plus the race aspect of the game pleases your Rpg nerdy side. And for all you acheivment nuts this game has a bunch of strange and unique acheivments. I would have recomend this game to any one who like different shooters, But because this game only realy shines in online I can't anymore. This game added a whole new dimension to the shooters we know and love and it broke my heart when it died.......
Rated 10 out of 10 by Kira One of the best games for live.
I had this a while back but for some reason I liked keeping award winning games, games with very high ratings. So I got rid this because I didn't think it wasn't good enough to keep in my library. I picked this one up because I just missed playing this. I have been playing Halo 3, COD 4 and other games on live but I missed this game. There is nothing like this game. Come on now they were definetly thinking outside of the box with all this tech and magic. I'm sure you heard there is no campaign no storyline but how about racing games and sports games. Just because it doesn't have a story doesn't mean it isn't fun. The graphics are nice, sound sounds cool, gameplay is so sick come on now this game is a bargain. If Bungie or another big studio worked on the sequel you know put more stuff like a campaign, better graphics, and more games types like death match, team deathmatch, headquarters and have prestige mode. It would be cool to shoot fire, electricity and a whole lot of other things. This game would be game of the year. It could be like a fps, rpg with a clean multiplayer.
Rated 0 out of 10 by A Customer A game of great proportions
Come on, just because it isn't an RPG doesn't mean it won't be good, you stick-in-the-mud crybabies. It has all new ways to kill opponents, cybernetically, magically, or with plain old lead. The graphics look great, the premise is awesome, and the idea of combining magic and technology to perform cool kill tactics is amazing. Just suck it up and give it a chance to be good, don't condemn it outright just becuase it isn't "traditional", the only reason to throw a game out the window is because it sucks, not because you are unfamiliar with an FPS having the name of an RPG! That is just plain stupid. I wanna create havok with a minion while I teleport out and glide back to my base, taking potshots with an assault rifle and fireballs while flying over the area and use a pentrating shot with my ability to see through walls. the possibilities are exciting and almost infinate!
