Very Sad Game...
Sacred has been an awesome game series up until this point. Sacred 3 has fallen very short of its previous titles. It is more like a sad rendition of an old Gauntlet title with no goals or serious dialogue. The game is very linear with no option to stray at all from the set direction. The skills and spells are based on gold and level. Once a Character level is achieved it unlocks a skill to which you have to purchase with in game gold after the current stage is completed, as there are no in game inventory, menus or stats to follow. Every Character is pretty much the same. Just a different graphic and visual way of delivery. This game has strayed far from the Sacred series. I suggest a little research on game play before purchasing this title.
Sacred only in name, not in execution
First i have to be bearer of bad news, this game ripped the heart and soul out of sacred universe.
1. There is no loot system, enemies will drop gold, and exp, and you might find a piece of armor to upgrade, and weapons are only available from meerchants. No more hunting sets, or trying to farm that one magical ring to rule them all, just a action game with shops.
2. only two combat arts, are available, and they all do the same thing with each class. These are your only source of dealing damage.
Light attack-your basic damage dealing attack that can combo.
charged attack- this stops enemies from casting breaking traps, and shields.
defence move- a simple roll like diablo 3, that can deal some dmg.
finishing move- insta kill enemies lying on ground.
3.weapon spirits- this unique skill allows you to buff party members while debuffing other skills. You have a chance to release a weapon spirit when you defeat enemies, and once released, those companions stay with you. one spirit enhances your Charged Hit but causes hits to drain your own life.
4.battle system- looks like a solid slasher, but lacks depth. Thing castle crashers but with over head camera and no jumping. At times the add mini games like breaking down walls, standing your ground against mobs, turning a lever.
5.level design. Gone is the open world of Ancaria. Instrad we get corridor crawler. All levels are linear, hardly if any room to explore. No levels like Diablo 3 desert, levels are more like the sewers, one direction.
That is it, Sacred universe is dead, and we get an over priced over head brawler.
A basic slasher lacking any depth or purpose
After finishing Sacred 3 I am disappointed. The game offered basic hack and slash that simply copies those that came before it. Except that they dumb it down, limit your options and progression and offer a map system that should be found in a free online game. There is no story besides stop the bad guys, there is not thought put into any level of progression. I suppose it was to hard for them to give you a variety of powers, only two of which you can use at any time so there is little point. Spent to many levels gaining nothing that I wanted to use, and was often left feeling like nothing was happening, and become discouraged because it would take 5 levels for anything to change. No loot because it would have taken to much time for them to design it. Upon winning a new level of difficulty unlocks, which is so overpowered there is no point, a failed attempt to copy diablo 3. In the end this is not fully developed game, lacking in all aspects and providing only moments of fun slashing through the same enemies in very small and lacking levels. This game is not worth 50 dollars and that is where my concern is, once again you are asked to pay a full price on a game they did not commit to. Shame all those people wasted there time to give half a product.
Birthday Present Please
I can't wait for this game to come out. I very much enjoyed the last two installments in the series and can't wait for the new one. Sure there were bugs here and there, but overall they were really well done games and I loved them.This one just happens to come out on my birthday, so I already know I'm gonna be getting it as a present from someone.
