Raven Squad: Hidden Dagger
not worth it
this game is very slow paced. the enemies dont move very well around and really dont seem to mind you moving by them. not impressive waiting for a good one to be realest, something more modern day combat, i love the feel of combat like real combat not cartoon combat. it just dosent seem to have the feel of a game that uses the fps mode accurately and portrays soldiers of today. all in all the game doesnt have the length or the accuracy for me to say id buy it again, i anticipated but was not satisfied by this game and to be honest it has nothing on modern warfare or world at war even though the game utilizes both modes of game play it just doesnt seem to have everything working at once. like i said dont waste the money rent it if you are one of the few that like it buy it.
Bored in three minutes
If you have to choose between this and getting smashed in the face, take the hit! These graphics are bad even for this games time. The controls are terrible and gameplay falls short in every way and gets old in minutes. I returned my copy and got Fallout 3. Never buy this !
Not bad but not great
This is one of the games I had been waiting on. It's also one of those that I wish I had just rented instead of bought. I haven't finished the campaign yet, but I've played enough to know that I probably wont play it again. It's just so-so. Graphics are rather cartoonish. The sound quality is pretty good. I love the idea of the combination of FPS/RTS. Brothers In Arms Hells Highway had a similar thing going on. It is a much better game than Raven Squad in my opinion. As far as the multiplayer goes, I haven't tried it yet. It only offers a multiplayer campaign. No free for all, team deathmatch, or etc. The aiming is very akward. If you're a fan of FPS games, you could at least rent it. I wouldn't recommend buying it without trying first. I'll stick with Call of Juarez Bound in Blood until Modern Warfare 2 comes out.
Funny sound because of the terrible voice acting. It has very odd FPS view making the graphics suck. I give a little credit for the 1st person shooter but the enemies are a bit to hard to kill. Its also odd that there are 6 playable characters. I personally prefer playing as one like in ghost recon 2. just do yourself a favor and stay away from this game.
good and bad
well i saw this game on the side bar, and thought might as well look at it. i saw it and it had good and bad aspects. first of all the hud, that thing lookes strange. also the name, raven squad hidden dagger, kinda bold. finally the graphics are cheezy. but to every bad there is a good (for most games). i have been waiting forever for a FPS RTS, its kinda like milk and cereal it just goes together. swiching between fps then rts in seconds is cool too, i imagined it as one mission its fps then the next is rts.to rap up my preview i would like to say "its the first fps rts ever, give them a break.even thou there is more bad then good im going to buy it, i mean why not this is a historic moment in history, next to the wheel, or fire :)
Not Good. So bad....it's great.
Well, let me just say that this game is really strange. The storyline is very off, and the gameplay lasts about 1 hour and then you realize...Why did i pay for this? Also, everytime i try to play this game, it lags horribly and sometimes wont even start. I don't know if this was just my disc or the game itself. The worst part about this game is that it is soooooooo cheesy! The voice acting is sooooooooo BAD!!!!! Especially Xian's voice! It sounds like a robot is talking the whole time! XD This game is OK for people that are new to first-person shooters but if you have plyed them for a while you will be extremely bored with this game.
Well, the idea of merging FPS with RTS is a wonderful idea. But, it doesnt look like this game will show the true potential that this new genre has. If the game is going too be a real time strategy then the FPS combat should be more realistic. Not a Halo run and gun. The name would drive me away if i hadnt looked into the game, the name is terrible. the graphics appear too be old Gen. and combat looks boring and frustrating. Though this game is the start of a new genre, i can't expect anything good too come from it. However, i do expect too see more games of this genre in the future, exploiting the genre's true power.
I've been waiting on a game to combine RTS and FPS elements for quite some time now. It will be interesting to see how pioneers of this genre execute the first attempt. Kudos to the development team on trying something new in a world that keeps being bombarded by Halos and Gears. I would like to see more FPS/RTS games after this one, it could make for an incredible cooperative experience to have one player strategizing, allocating squads and resources and giving tactical advice and the other player executing plans for victory. It is potentially an incredibly epic battle experience.
By looking at the hud and the price drop before its release date, you can be sure this will only be a renter at most. Then again, I could be wrong but it sounds kind of corny. Come on now Raven Squad Hidden dagger?! I haven't heard too much about this game so I guess they're not marketing as well as they should. I think I would be still stuck on GOW2 by the time this comes out.
I dint really think its gonna be that good because it looks kinda the same as all the other shooter games every time they make a new shooting game its kindathe same but from looking at the video it looks kind of not as good as all of the other shooter games but i would give a 6 out of 10 it doesnt look like it has much fire power but we will see
