The biggest question lingering over the imminent release of Konami's PES 2010, is whether or not they can return to their roots of strong soccer action minus the arcade feel that unfortunately dominated PES 2009. If Konami can improve visuals, add even more options and depth, but retain the gameplay that made PES 2007 & 2008 so enjoyable, they'll be back in business. HOWEVER, if they continue down the path that they've temporarily diverted to with PES 2009 (crappy arcade gameplay, nothing really new or innovative added to the series), this will NOT be a must-purchase footie game. Here's hoping that Konami brings the focus back to the older games in this series rather than this most recent disappointment. :)

This game is going to be phenomenal. It is going to be so good that when you open the package trumpets will sound out from on high. Seabass will personally come out dressed up like a great messiah and thank you for sticking with the series after a horrible few years of next generation programming. Dancing girls will walk into your room and cheer you on as you play and remove one article of clothing for every goal you score. Ronaldinho will personally announce to you that he is retiring for football to pursue his career in acting if you admit you like PES over FIFA. All these things will happen if you get PES 2010 when it comes out.PES 2010 represents Konami actually fearing EA Sports as a competitor in the football gaming series. Konami has essentially pretended that 2008 and 2009 didn't exist. Graphics are completely overhauled, online is supposed to actually work now that they are using the PES 6 system, and the gameplay is always better than FIFA, always. Midfield driven shots are back and that excites me more than a picture of Mila Kunis. Seriously this game is going to be better than Duke Nukem Forever and will actually be released to boot!FIFA is all about hyperrealism and just plain not having fun. PES is the best football gaming experience you can have, especially with friends and alcohol. There is drama, there are fights, there is rage quitting, and, best of all, it's extremely fun.In Seabass we trust!

The gameplay is very stiff, free kicks are impossible to make, and many over and under rated players.
