Another disappointment! Out of all the RPG games I have played this one is on my disappointment list. The battle system was okay. But it gets boring. Stab, stab, slice, dead and thats all you have to do to kill a monster. There is not much originality in this game. All you do is go through all these missions fighting monsters or in other cases saving someone and you're done. Not something that you can call amazing. But it has its good sides. The story is good and is possibly one of the main things that will keep you going to find out more. Also the "extra mode" that the creators put in isn't bad either. Why not make a character look like you and battle? Its fun and you dont have to make yourself human, you can be a cast, or a Newman, a beast also. So pretty much I highly wouldn't recommend this game, but if you have nothing to do and "need" something to do then Im sure you'll enjoy it a lot. It has its challenges and twists just like any game would. Just good luck getting bored of fighting.

Phantasy Star Universe offers two complete RPG experiences - a single-player action adventure spanning multiple planets, and a robust online multi-player component. The game offers long-time fans the epic experience they have been clamoring for. The solo adventure features more than 40 hours of gameplay, an emotionally engaging story, traditional cut scenes, and strong character development. The title's hero is Ethan Waber, a 17-year old cadet intent on saving his sister, who is living on a planet under siege by mysterious life forces called THE SEED. In Online Mode, players are given the opportunity to create their own characters from a range of races, and they get to explore all three planets in the Grarl solar system. Fans can travel with a squad of other adventurers, enter urban sprawls teeming with hundreds of other players, and build their avatars into powerful warriors.
Rated 6 out of 10 by mwinkf MMO v.s. RPG
This game is a clear mix up of how you differ a Online MMO from an offline RPG. This game was designed as though it was a Online MMO, but it is not. It is confusing why you can not carry your online player offline to level up for fun. A player can solo without being in a party online and just buy healing items so mages are almost useless. While playing online as a mage it is hard to kill mobs because the melees kill so much faster. This game is amazing when it comes to playing as a melee but over time the game becomes hack and slash. The enemies are stupid and the bosses are too easy. This game is a offline RPG which was clearly designed for solo play. Since its so easy to solo playing online is a joke because everybody runs around doing his or her own thing, In MMOs every role should be important, such as melees, mages, healers. Im confused what happened because previous Phantasy Online Games had the understanding of roles. The developers had the right idea toward creating the future of MMOs, but they just lost track. The fasted pace gameplay makes me look forward to future Phantasy Online Games.

This is game is good. Some might say it's alright, some might say it's just horrible but I like it. IF you want you could download the beta or demo on the marketplace to try it. The game is fun, and with friends it is just addicting. The graphics are great and the combat isn't that bad. The only problem I found was the expansion packs are needed for this game and if you are not into button mashing or if anything Diablo style gamplay. If you use a saber it's just hitting A all of the time. But other weapons give diversity. There are also a lot of races and the off-line and online aspect of the game is cool. Oh and the achievements aren't the hardest in the world. Plus the game is cheap now. If it would’ve cost more, plus the monthly subscription then I would not recommend it as much. But since it's cheap and then add the subscription it's not that bad.
Rated 10 out of 10 by DemonSlayer765 A really amazing game.
I think that Phantasy Star Universe is a amazing game. I loved the graphics because until this game i have never seen texture so smooth and doesn't look like something out of a sketchbook. The game play was great when i played the game at a friends it was so easy to understand how to do everything right away unlike other new games when you go and buy them, All of the menu's and the control's were layed out perfectly for this game, The leveling up in the game was the same as most other games with leveling in them. I really liked the sounds of the game and how the music changed from the city's to inside the level's, i also liked the way the weapons sounded when you used them they actually sounded real. Overall i think Phantasy Star Universe was a really excellent game.
Rated 8 out of 10 by Kunungr A very Good game that needs to be Remastered.
This is an engaging game that is Incredibly Good. Graphics are Out of Date. Most of the time in cut scenes, you can hear a voice but the Mouth doesn't move. Also Some items for my Synthesis I have never found in the 2 years of gameplay on PSU. Furthermore, I have had the idea to make the tool and weapon switching a bit more simple, try items on LB and weapons on RB. That would make switching items quicker I would love to have a remastered PSU to play. That game would have a ten of ten for me.

Although the game is sort of repeating at times, it can be useful for Entrepreunership oppurtunities knowing the game teaches you the simple basics of Economics. I learned various forms of money spending and how to do it wisely. So if anythingthe game isnt all that but the Point is very clear. Money Saving Spending and Trading.=] As far as im concerned Phantasy Star Universe comes from and Old Game called PSO which first launched for the Dreamcast sytem sometime in the 90's....so you cant expect so much more than a simple Tweak if you will to a newer videogame on a more recent console. Sometimes we should really pay attention to what you are going to buy before you do. I congratulate this game because i believe it is Entertaining Interesting and above all ''fun''.

this is a wonderfull game to any gamer who likes role playing games. First of the battle systes is great. you can switch in between weapons during combat and thers a whole lot of weapons and skills for this games. 1 of the major disapointments of this game is on top of paying for xbox live, you gotta purchase a guardians license(you can find it in the marketplace) which is 8-10 bucks i dont remember to play online on xbox live. But i guess its worth it becuase onlien it has great custimization and very good gameplay. Overall I give this game an 8.5 because even though it was great, i think they could of added a 2 plauyer conponent to it. Sounds great and this game has a lot of lengfh plus side missions. thanks for takign the time ti read this review

This is one of he worst games I have ever played on the xBox 360. When I bought this game, I thought it would be fun just like the other phantasy star games on the gamecube and ps2, but when I played this phantasy star... I was very disappointed. The character customization was great but has a bad story line and the music was horrible. If you want to get a game like phantasy star, but fun, I suggest buying final fantasy. It also has a monthly fee of 10 dollars a month when you play online. It's a waste of money. The enemies look very odd looking and the story makes no sense at all. This is just one of those very confusing and boring games. I didn't finish it because I knew that the same things are going to happen over and over again. Dont get this game!

Phantasy Star Universe (PSU) Was my first actual game that kept me up all night. I found it very fun to play online I wish this could be remade for current consoles. Shortly after taking a break from xbox 360 I started to play world of warcraft it reminded me of PSU I still have this game on my xbox 360 hard drive even though the servers have been sadly closed down I really hope sega makes another version of this. The campaign could be a bit confusing if you don't pay attention where to go.
