you people under rate this game
I spent a week after this game came out trying to find reviews on the internet and they were mixed between horrible and awesome. So I risked it and bought it and this is what I think. NPPL is not this horrible game that the other people here said it was, first of all if you dont know anything about paintball dont bother even buying this if your curious rent it if you can find it, with that said. NPPL is just like Greg Hastings maxd if not a tad bit better because you can jump over bunkers and so far as I'm playing through it there's more equipment. I also would recommend going through the tutorial stages not only to help you but to get the achievement but it will greatly help you in the game. And as for the other review saying you cant slide, dive and shoot at the same time you can. The game physics are great the bunkers and paintballs act like they would in real life. If you played Greg Hastings maxd and destroyed it id recommend playing on pro cuz the games not that hard if you know what you're doing. Now for the BAD THINGS you cant create your own character you also cant create your own team name or logo, the most you can customize is yours and your teams equipment and skills which doesn't really matter cause you want your skills maxed out. The AI even though they say it is isn't that bright. And the graphics could be better for a next gen game. Overall if you liked Greg Hastings maxd you'll like NPPL.

Horrible!
This game doesn't have anything productive to say about itself. The graphics are bad and the gameplay will feel as if the player was a giant rectangle. This game is not worth a moment of any gamer's time.

Very Well Made for a nppl
NPPL Championship 2009 is a great game. I play the game a lot usually when i dont want to play COD or Halo but still well made could use minor twiks in gameplay. Biggest thing about the game is the controls! People hate them i personally like them. Shoot is LB and LT which is perfect since you really dont use the A B X Y buttons often. Also is very easy to play fun for kids and teenagers. Gets harder as you move on. One major flaw is your team. Your team can be unstopable at some stages. Like once the game started and i left the room came back and won the game. So yes easy in some stages but gets pretty tough on pro difficulty.

Nominated for best Paintball Game
This game is the best paintball game that I have ever played. Though warning if you don't have any appreciation for paintball then you might not like it as much as a person like me who really appreciates the sport. That is probably why people gave it such a low score. Because they think its call of duty and the balls are supposed to go straight but then it would be unrealistic. ITS PAINTBALL! It is not no regular shooter where there are bullets that go straight and through walls. There is no nube toobers or grenades. Just good ol-fashioned duck and shoot. Its the best game out on the market and I think beats Greg Hastings paintball 2 the new one that came out. That game is more crappier in graphics and the running is so unrealistic. You run faster than a ferrari or porshe. Like in one second your going 50 mph. In this game its extremely realistic. You better think twice before advancing like in reall NPPL. If your a call of duty fanatic where all you do is nube toob and shoot through walls and walk to people and knife em then this is not for you. This is for people who want a game that simulates more or less how you feel when you go paintballing. So for ppl who scored this low its because they are call of duty fanatics and are spoiled by games similar to it and cant stand playing a fair shooter that doesn't tolerate cheap shots like shooting through walls. Its duck and cover system. In the game and in real life its called snapping and popping. Please excuse the grammar for this is not college or anything. Thanks and hope to see more ppl online cuz its kind of depressing how games like cod black ops annihilate games like this that have potential but are walked all over cuz it doesn't have the call of duty appeal. thanks again for reading.

best game ever
This is the best game ever, i have been waiting a while for a perfect paintball game and this is the one. This game has some of the best paintball game graphics ever. The controls are great on this game. The career mode on this game is very reasonable but it can be a little sketchy. Its just not quite in depth enough for my needs. You can pick and choose your own gear and marker setup for your whole team on career mode. The interface to this game was very well. If you are a paintball player this game is very helpful in the sense that it gives you pro player tips that can come in handy on the field in the real world. This game is very elusive to your movements as you run diving into bunkers. I recommend this game for everyone who loves the sport of paintball. This is by far the best paintball game ever. I would buy it if i enjoyed paintball.

Worthy of renting
As a fan of the "shooter" genre and a recreational paintballer, it was difficult finding some very helpful reviews of this game. After buying the game, though, I wish I could have found it at my local blockbuster to rent. I say that because I beat the game on the hardest setting in about 3 days. The only benefit I got for the game was the easy achivement points. Now, being a fan of "shooter" games, it was just okay. It was fun and exciting the first day or two but it became very repetitive. Once you know where to send your team-mates after the breakout and have them shoot their different directions, you can just hide behind a bunker and let the AI's do the rest. That's sad...the whole upgrade part of the game is pointless. I didn't see much of a difference in different guns being used. As for the online play I honestly never even tried it. It got so boring and repetitive during the campaign play I wasn't brave enough to try it. The most challenging part of this game was the 1 vs 1...that was tough on the PRO setting. AS A PAINTBALLER...it was interesting how they made the bunkers affected by paintballs so you could know you were being shot at. Fortunately, you can do the whole run and slide and still shoot while doing so, switch the gun from hand to hand...pretty much like the Greg Hastings Maxd game---but know CO-OP...huge downfall. I will have to encourage people to RENT this game first!!!!! I beat it on PRO very quickly and will be trading this game in very soon.

Some People
I was reading a few reviews and it occurred to me that many of you are the same people at paintball places all over the country we wish would leave the game completely. Someone was complaining they can't hit two buttons with two different fingers. Well, to bad get better at paintball then. That is the way true players get such a high rate of fire. Then he goes on to say that ramping can't be used in tournaments. Well, again to bad since that is true of real paintball. I wish you guys would stay away from my beloved sports and stick to dumb games like air soft where cheating is ok. As for this game, it is great in all ways. No, it doesn't have all the teams or all the equipment but welcome to the world of money. There are many companies that don't support NPPL so they are not going to let their teams advertise for an NPPL game.

not bad
This game is fun and okay at the same time. But if you play this game play it on the hardest difficulty level because once you get the hang of planning your own personal breakout and get a hang of this game it does not present a big challenge. Once I got my strategy right with my teammates in the position thats good its almost easy on semi-pro. But thats not to say it's a bad game, just play it here and there. Don't play it constantly. Like play a match or two then put a new game in. Or if you watch paintball on tv, and doing that gets you in the mood to play a paintball game(like what happens to me once I watch a zombie movie all I want to do is kill zombies) then play this. Just dont play it long since it wont keep you on you toes about playing the next match. Now when I say the challenge is a 6 I dont mean you can just run around like a paintball rambo because if you do you will die. Take cover. It will save your life. The story is a zero because there is, well, no story. Just become a pro. That's it. Overall if you like paintball games then get it, just dont play it constantly.

What to Expect
The time of paintball games has changed and this game could have been what does it but the developers would have to make some changes to make it great. Let me start out with the positive side of the game. The games graphics so far have been the best looking out of all the paintball games released. The control to allow the character to jump, slide and dive while shooting gives you more of a real feeling. You can upgrade the team you are with and that they receive the same marker you do once you equip it. Also the character you play as can be upgrade with better skills but we have seen this before in Greg Hastings games. There are plenty of levels in the storyline and they have the real feel of the tournaments. Now I have to tell you the negatives of the game. First for actually paintball players who are looking to make a marker as one of their own (its not going to happen), you follow a set of unlockable equipment that are pre-colored and designed, the name of the barrel may change but the affect is the same, so they should have just called it barrel. Second you are going to find that not all guns and accessories have made it into the game. If you are looking for a gun that you may own or one that you have always wanted it might not be found in this game. I personal would like to have been able to be more hands on, such as setting my own trigger, putting in upgrade boards, changing the color of the guns, making a jersey one of your own, and things of that nature. Third you can not make your own character, at the start of the game you can only choose from a handful of players which vary from positions and skills but I feel for a game like this you have to have character creation so you can make it feel as your own. Now I have not played online but so I can not tell you if you can design your own character for online play. I would have liked it to be more on the Saints Row feel for customizing. Next not all of the pro teams have been added to the game which again for game like this they should have had more teams. Also there is no more co-op or in general playing with a friend. I am sorry to say that was one big attribution that Greg Hastings had which had found to be enjoyable. Finally the controls of the game (for shooting)... yes you can ramp but its not as it sounds. I am assuming the game developers thought that using one trigger and one top bumper button would be a great idea to use as the fingers for the character. You pull the trigger he fires with the index; you push the bumper he fires with the middle finger which I have found is very difficult. Now you can switch the setting to ramp but you can not use it for the tournaments. I would suggest that renting it if you can find it or borrowing it would be the best before buying it.

Amazing Game
This game is amazing to play if you enjoy paintball. If you don't then it's probably not for you. This is one of those games that you either love or hate. Some great features it has are the controls, their simple and easy to remember. Another great feature is the Dynasty Training Tutorial. This is a big help when first playing the game it teaches you the tactics to use and when you should use them. The career mode in the game is awesome. Its pretty much like any other sports games dynasty mode. You control what your team wears and uses, who starts and who's on the bench, and how your team will play during he match. My favorite feature of the game is the dual shooting buttons. RB and RT. If you use the dual finger shooting motion you would with a real speedball marker then it feels like you're shooting a real marker. Plus it helps you lay down a lot more paint then just using 1 finger. All in all I love this game 10 outta 10 for me I don't know about you but this is my new madden.
