Rated 7 out of 10 by Tucc Decent game... for 2 weeks
Let me begin by saying that NFS: Rivals was pretty enjoyable for the first couple of weeks. I say this because that is how long it takes to beat the game playing only about 2 hours a day. An average gamer could breeze through this game and finish both the racer and cop story lines. The gameplay itself is enjoyable (about as good as Most Wanted) and the graphics are nice, but this game has some large downsides. The main complaint I have is how short the game was and the low replayability it has. Once you finish, collecting all the cars just becomes a hassle and isn't enjoyable. The police are the most aggravating thing and in my opinion should be toned down to what they were in Most Wanted. There were times where I found myself driving for over an hour, the whole time being chased by police only to eventually get busted and lose all that time I put in. Overall, the game is above average for a little while, then almost immediately drops off to an unrewarding grind to get all the cars. I would recommend Forza 5 over this in a heartbeat.

The gameplay for this game is good. Not great. It's the same stuff as the last game with fewer cars. Yes, you can customize the cars, but there are severe limitations. The largest downfall I have with this game is the multiplayer. There is no way for you and your friends to just set up a match and race. you have to wander around the map, find the same point, and start a race. This only work a small percentage of the time though. After starting a race, the servers lag and don't keep up with the race going on. We've had numerous races where we all finish in the same place (all first, all last, etc...) The gameplay and graphics are great, but it's nothing we haven't seen before. I wouldn't buy this again or recommend this to anyone looking to play online with friends. It's a good singleplayer game with online open world capabilities. I bought this game to play multiplayer with friends online and this game doesn't deliver at all
Rated 1 out of 10 by FPSGamer19720 WARNING DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IF....
WARNING DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IF YOU ARE NOT INTO MULTIPLAYER GAMES, THIS IS A MULTIPLAYER GAME, SO IF YOU DON'T LIKE PLAYING WITH OTHER PEOPLE AND JUST WANT TO DRIVE AROUND AND PLAY BY YOURSELF DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. THE GAME WILL NOT WORK UNLESS SOMEONE ELSE IS PLAYING IT. IT WILL JUST KEEP SAYING "WAITING FOR A GAME TO JOIN". I SAT THERE FOR 20 MINUTES WAITING FOR A GAME TO JOIN. IT WILL NOT LET YOU DO ANYTHING UNTIL SOMEONE ELSE JOINS THE GAME. I JUST LOST 60 BUCKS, NO ONE EVER SAID THIS WAS A MULTIPLAYER GAME ONLY. IF YOU LIKE MULTIPLAYER GAMES, THEN THIS GAME IS GREAT FOR YOU. IF YOU ARE A LONER, AND JUST WANT TO DRIVE AROUND AND RACE THE AI IN THE GAME, THIS DOES NOT HAVE IT. WARNING PLEASE NOTE THIS GAME WILL NOT DO ANYTHING UNLESS SOMEONE ELSE TURNS IT ON AND PLAYS WITH YOU. I HATE MULTIPLAYER GAMES, AND I AM SURE THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE OUT THERE JUST LIKE ME. PLEASE BE WARNED.
Rated 9 out of 10 by nOLd1 Hot Pursuit & Most Wanted combined....
Its far more realistic drivability, scenic & environmental than the past nfs games... weather seems more real and is very enjoyable during gameplay. I like how you can be a cop or a racer... its a different kind of experience because with all these nfs games we are used to being the racer... but portraying a cop is satisfying. I do wish there were more vehicles in the racer section... the cars in-game are pretty much all the high end cars you almost never see in our real world. It would've been nice to see some tuner imports and more American muscle varieties that we see daily in our streets... And lastly, the ability to modify cars isn't as in-deph as I was expecting.... can't work on specific parts, add on specific parts or tune... which would've added on a more realistic feeling towards the game.. like for example, as a part of our hideout, we are able to dyno and tune our vehicle to how we want it and modify/ upgrade each an every part possible to gain the upper hand on going toe to toe vs the Police. I hope NFS evolves to become more realistic... but all in all, very different and worth every penny.

This game is very cool. If you have this game or if you're getting this game you should try it out with a xbox 360 or ONE compatible steering wheel. It will give you a speed racer type of game play and put you more in the wheel of the vehicle. Otherwise using a controller is also good too. it has most of the standard controls of a typical racing game with a little extra. the speed of the cars is exhilerating. The power and fatality of a crash would have you on the edge of your seat trying not to tumble. The beatiful paint on the gorgeous graphics of the xbox one would make you not even want to drive knowing that the races you are about to perform will scratch the heck out of that car. The purring engines and the challenges you face will be the ride of your life. Gamertag>Truecleo<Xbox Live

this game looks like what the need for speed crew should have done way back on the xbox and ps2 era with the original Hot Pursuit line and even with the reboot of the series. Same idea only done better. first take Hot Pursuit and then take the performance upgrades, multiplayer, and easy drive from Most Wanted (2012 release) and if that isn't enough add the visuals from The Run ( a game that needs a sequel) all using a new engine and you the game we wanted 10 years ago. dont get me wrong i am not bashing in any way i have every single NFS title for the 360 and i still play them as well as almost all dlc for every game. yes i have them all as follows.
hot pursuit limited ed
shift 2 limited ed
the run limited ed
wost wanted (a criterian game)
Rated 5 out of 10 by GaMeGoTh Another half baked NFS game.
First off to get the full effect of the game you have to be logged into live at all time. There is no real story mode. The game brings back limited style customizations which is great, however the servers are buggy and you can be racing and all of a sudden be dropped or your car looses control and is stuck on accelerating or turning a certain direction. Now this can be avoided if you want to build up your character by disconnecting form your router! There's not even an option in the game to switch to offline. EA keeps destroying our games we love there is no local multiplayer again. Another thing is there is no class differential you can be starting in a game with high levels and be harassed and trolled the whole time with its online "open world". I have yet to figure out if inviting a friend means switch or starting your own world because I've yet to recommend this to anyone. There is little to no control over who you're joining up with. I'm going to have to put the nail on the NFS coffin I don't think there is anyway I'm going back anymore Most Wanted not to be confused with the original was the last good offline adventure with a stupid online experience. Its hard to be tough on a game that you've expected to love so much.
Rated 3 out of 10 by MAN035 Worst NFS ever!!!
First of all, you must have a hard drive (not a flash drive) to even begin to play the game. You can't install it on a 4gb slim either. worst thing to incorporate into a game. Why can't they install the content on the disk when they make the game instead of making you install it or, for those without an appropriate hard drive, buy a new/bigger hard drive after paying for the game itself. Save yourself the trouble of buying this if you do not have a hard drive!!
