Rated 0 out of 10 by Derek, Iuka, MS NCAA 08: New Gen Hit or Disappointment?
I hope that the new NCAA 08 has great graphics, but also idealizes college sports. Last year's version was too much like Madden. I hope that the new trick play thing works really well and it has something to do with skill to get off the trick play (I hope my little 5 year old cousin won't be able to pull the Statue of Liberty on me). I also hope that they minimize the advantage of fast QB's. I know last year's version if you had Michael Vick on Madden or if you had someone like Brent Schaeffer for Ole Miss, you could dominate and win no matter who you played. I hope that all the stadiums are on this one, unlike last year when they didn't get it done in time and had to give some teams generic stadiums. I understand giving teams like Arkansas State generic stadiums, but not a 100,000 seat dome. Overall, I think this next game is going to utitlize recruiting and I hope that they bring the pop quizzes to the 360 version. I give my preview rating so far: 4.5 out of 5.

NCAA Football 08 is a great game for every level of fan. I am a pretty hard-core fan myself, and I am very pleased with this game. The controls are very easy to learn. Almost anyone could pick up the game and start playing within minutes. The detail and sharpness of the game is very pleasing. It looks about as real as a video game can. The variety and inclusion of EVERY team is very important to me, and I was satisfied with the many schools available to play as. The dynasty mode is fun. You pick whatever school you want, and play through the season. My favorite mode is Campus Legend. You make a player, whatever position you want, and play in his state's high school playoffs, trying to impress the scouts that are attending. You then get offered a scholarship to a few different schools. (The farther you go in the high school playoffs, the better.) Then you get to play through the entire season, while working up the depth chart and keeping up the old GPA. So, whether you're a casual collegiate fan, or a die-hard, true to your team kind of fan, you will love NCAA Football 08.
Rated 0 out of 10 by MAKE it happen EA dont fail NCAA Football 06
So far every NCAA and Madden Next Generation is worse then all the ones for Xbox and PS2. Also the 2k series of sega is better and they better step up because there coming back. Not to mention the Tecmo Series which is still to this day amazing. All I real want to see is the completely same game as NCAA Football 2006, which is the greatest football game of all time, but just with the next generation graphic. This means I still want the body design of the orginal NCAA verisons just enchaned graphic and dear god please have to players run like they do in real life NCAA Football 2006 had it perfect. EA please fix your games it killing me! not to mention the connection on live sucks and I think its just the dumb graphic because my original version works just fine online. I am praying for a good game, but honestly I doubt EA will deliever watch EA because your real close to dieing.
Rated 1 out of 10 by gbmoney worst of the series
This has got to be the biggest scam EA has ever come up with. The game is a joke. You have to be a really, really big EA fan boy to ignore the nonexistent passing game, constant clipping (not the penalty), choppy animations, freezing, excessive turnovers (with meter all the way down), useless defense, ridiculous campus legend, cheerleader less and coach less sidelines, meaningless player ratings, and it just keeps rolling downhill. Wow, I still can't get over the passing game, awful, awful, awful. Your receivers will never, I repeat, never beat the defender off the line. Throwing down the middle or screens are you only option (you'll still get swatted most of the time, lob passes, bullet passes, doesn't matter) and that is boring! I could go on, but I will spare the reader. The running game is good though. I set the game in the trash outside my house if anyone is interested.
Rated 0 out of 10 by Johnny Blade WVU Mountaineers are BCS bound!
With improved player models, modified touchdown celebrations and stat-filled halftime reports, NCAA 08 is poised to be the best in the highly-acclaimed series! I'm sure Mountaineer Field in Morgantown will look fantastic with its brand new, top-of-the-line turf that outshines the surfaces at many NFL stadiums. Expect a pair of Big East teams to be invovled in the Bowl Championship Series this season, as the conference is loaded with star power and nationally-ranked squads. Oh, and here's some advice, kiddies: Grab NCAA 08 for the original XBOX system. It costs less and plays better than the the versions sold for those fancy-schmancy consoles. Enjoy the game and set your television to ESPN so you'll be sure to witness college football's fastest backfield as Steve Slaton, Patrick White and Noel Devine run circles around the competition! Let's go Mountaineers!

NCAA 07 was a very, very big let down. I think NCAA 06, at least so far, has been the best game in the NCAA franchise. Even last years 07 on the origianl Xbox, played better than the 360. Almost like you guys tried to turn it into Madden. Thats what I always liked about the NCAA games, just that, they were NCAA, not Madden. I liked that they were unique, and different. I liked that I could have 12 guys rated at 99, and I didn't have a financial problem due to a salary cap (Madden), only thing I had to worry about, was the 12 guys leaving early. This is the first (and hopefully the last) NCAA I've ever bought, that I ended up returning. I actually took it back the same day. I sincerely hope that you guys spend more time with this upcoming one (a hellava lot more time) than you did with the bust, that was NCAA 07.
Rated 0 out of 10 by X Haven't you all had enuff of the trick plays (glitch plays)
With all the glitchery that is found each year on NCAA and Madden that eventually ruin the experience for sim players and those looking to play realistic football, why would we want to see them put plays like the statue of liberty and whatever they can think of into this game knowing the track record of past games. These will undoubtedly be plays that cannot be stopped or will have some effect on the gameplay were players will act like they can't recognize the play even after seeing it countless times throughout the game. This game misses on the pageantry and excitement that is the NCAA. Each school has it on traditions and celebrations that they do prior to the game and after a big victory versus a top ranked team or a rivalry. How about the halftime show with some of the top college bands? Were are they.
Rated 0 out of 10 by Big Poppa More in depth superstar and franchise
Needs a better camera angle for superstar. More things to do off field in superstar and more positions like kicker, punter and kick return specialist. Also, it should follow a small story mode to keep the player hooked, like madden bowl, chalanges from other players, celebrity basketball games (just dont invite Reggie.) Also, for the workouts there should be things to do, like the shuttle, jumps, actual interviews with animated interviewers. In franchise, they should bring back the local and national newspaper, off-field issues, a combine where you canbe the prospect, an actual draft with mel kiper jr like in Head Coach, more cut scenes of players on the bench, pregame dances, TD celebrations, fights, actual players on the sidelines and ability to pump up a certain part of the team as in the ncaa version.
Rated 0 out of 10 by Blond lightening 2008 needs to be true to the spirit of the series
(for xbox 360) All the previous ncaa football games were not perfect. 2007 wasn't even close. The developers, I feel, were rushed into creating beauty over substance. The game looked good. Actually, it looked like a port of madden 06 for 360. I can only hope that they continue to build on what they had. Quality of gameplay. Diverse game modes. Close to authentic recreation of school stadiums and traditions. Its those things that allowed fans and gamers alike to submerse themselves into the game. The 360 and PS3 have the power to include all the things we love. Don’t think that for a minute that we will once again be blown away so much by the graphics that we won’t notice a cr$#$y port of madden when we see it. By the Texas A&M has yell leaders not cheer leaders.
