Well, this game is certainly outdated, but it's a lot of fun. There's so many game modes to venture into. NBA Live 06 has all the All-Star Weekend festivities that you would only get in NBA 2K13 by pre-ordering it. But this game gives you those features, free of charge. You can go into this really cool mode called "NBA Live Retro", which features a game within a game. There's this really old NBA Live commercial with Marv Albert's commentary inserted, and then you can play NBA Live 95, the first NBA Live title, which is pretty cool. You would need an old Sega Genesis to play NBA Live 95, but Live 06 includes it, which is both pretty cool, and very interesting. Of course, you've got all the other game modes from other basketball video games. The gameplay is only kinda realistic, and the graphics are a bit, cheesy, but this is a really fun game to play, and it's very entertaining. However, the retro mode, as far as I know, is only available on the PS2 version of this game. But still, good game.

Rated 3 out of 10 by bmon94 would have been good for the ps1
as a xbox 36o game, this sucks bad!! the only you can do is play practice, season, and a regular game. although thats not really the issue. the real issue is the gameplay. its very very stiff. this game would of been the 2K for PS1. if this game was formatted to the ps1 then it would have been a 20/10
Rated 4 out of 10 by marcos321 this game is horible
i do not like this game, theres no dynasty mode, no free throw help, and too many missed layups, it would be fun if this was fixed but its impossible to win a game if its close in the 4th cause they will intentionally foul you and it will basically be a turnover. for 2006 i would recomend 2k6

This is my favorite NBA Live on the PS2. It is very fun and more than worth the 2 bucks.

Nba Live was old but it still awsome. NBA Live 06 is a 2005 installment of the NBA Live series released on the Xbox 360, Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, PC, PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 2 Mobile. It was developed by EA Sports. The game features several game modes, including Dynasty, Season, Playoffs, or Free Play. It features Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat on the cover
In Dynasty Mode, you choose one team (excluding the All-Star Teams) and you run a dynasty. This means you have to play through multiple seasons. You can decide the number of matches per season and the difficulty. You can also trade players away and hire new players along with coaches. You can simulate games, so you don't have to play. In Dynasty Mode, there is an All-Star weekend like normal, except the players or rosters are according to the Dynasty Season. But, (for the contests) you can only play as your players on your team you can't play as players on other teams (for example if you were the Pistons and Ben Wallace was in the Slam Dunk Contest, you could only play as him). But if you have more than one player on your team in a contest you can play as both of them. If your player is an MVP candidate and he has the ball in the last few minutes of the game the crowd will start chanting "MVP, MVP, MVP". Once in a while, you might also notice a small star appear somewhere on the court. If you can get to the star in time, your player will increase in skill level for a brief moment. You also have to hire the coaching staff and do Training Camp but you can simulate that as well. There is also a trade deadline..
In Season Mode, you play one season of basketball, unlike Dynasty Mode, where you play multiple seasons. But, like Dynasty mode you can trade, sign, and drop players.
n the Playoffs, you play the playoffs with teams either from the Eastern or Western Conference. The default teams are those that were in the 2004-05 playoffs.
In the All-Star Weekend, you can choose to do a rookie game, a dunk contest, or a 3 pointer contest. In the dunk contest, you try to do a fancy dunk and the one with the most points wins. In the 3 pointer contest, you try to score as many 3 pointers as possible. Both, the 3-Point Shootout and the Slam Dunk Contest are announced by TNT Inside the NBA analyst Kenny Smith.
