Rated 4 out of 5 by from best 2k game made... better gameplay than 2k11 i used to have this game and played it online all the time. i have 2k11 now and play that now mainly because its easier to find matchups online. 2k9 was so much fun. the gameplay seemed faster and smoother without as much animation in player movement. that was much more noticable on offense. the main difference i see i how you play on offense. in 2k11 its tougher to score, you have to settle for a lot more mid range jump shots. in 2k9 it was a dunk contest. all i did was dunk on people and played inside-out, kill em in the paint then when they double team kick it out for open 3's. this game is awsome for the price. 2k11 is good but 2k9 is the best so far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than 2K11 This game is so much fun. I have this one and 2K11 for Xbox 360 and I play this one more. The controls are great, the rosters are fair, and the ratings are correct. THe jerseys are also fun and the season mode is great. Online play in this game is also great, playing either you vs. another or teams. The graphics and broadcasters are stellar. Get this game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this game is very amazing in all categories. this game is better than nba 2k10.nba 2k10 has slow and blocky players.it has good graphics but the gameplay kinda sucks.that's my opinion.but 2k9 has smooth gameplay and the graphics are good theres alot of things you can do.and the players aren't slow and it is a good game game to play for people that like basketball.but i wish they would swap the cover pictures.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not very good i got this game because it was only $10 I should have gotten a basket ball because with a basketball, you dont do random things randomly. This was my first basketball game and i should have gotten NBA live (my friend has it). For starters the main menu is like a start menu. i had to look in a manuel to find that out. there is a really cruddy career mode and other modes. the controls are for people who are perfectionists. the manuel doesnt help with the controls at all. Then there is the gameplay. horribe. if you bloxk someones shot, you foul. if your losing by 2 points and are about to tie/end the end the game, your players automatucally foul. then u automaticly timeout.you players MOVE OUT OF THE OTHER PLAYERS WAY!!!!!!!!!! to let them get the layup. Dont Get This "HOR"rrible (thats right its so bad its not even classified as a game).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2k delivers again Nba 2k9 is a great game. First there are the graphics which are pretty close to the actual players. Not everybody looks like themselves but close enough to recongnize them. You have nba blacktop which is like all star weekend on nba live but more of a street ball feel to it.There is the 3 point shootout, dunk contest and more on the nba blacktop. The association is also very deep it is close to the nfl head coach of basketball except u get to play. You can look at the average age of your team if u want to get older or younger. You can trade, scout, look at rumors and stats and more. You can also schedule practices.you can upload updated rosters and get the updated trades and teams.A good soundtrack.Another thing with this game is its challenge the computer u face is tough to beat sometimes you blow them out or they will blow you out but there also lots of close games. There is also the highlight reel were you can put together ur saved replays and add sounds and music or also do freeze frame to make a cool reel u can watch or upload. This game is tough with solid graphics, and lots of intresting features. This game delivers again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great game It's a great game. It has all the players from the 50's to today. You can make a custom team and have larry Bird play with kobe and have Dr J play with Yoa Ming. It's very realistic and when the player's get to the free throw line they shoot the way they do in the NBA! you can have dunk contest, three point shooting contest and can play a street game. You can also play a season mode where where it is really realistic. The controls are pretty simple and easy to use. the only part I didn't like was they change the controls for the dunk contest it's so hard to dunk. The three point shooting could use a little work but it is still a great game. It also tells you how good the team is and gives you a rating of the. Like before you do the season mode it tells you there key players. I give the game a 7 and a half out of ten.
