Terrible, Terrible Game...
When I got the Kinect this was the first game I purchased for it (aside from Kinect Adventures). WOW! What a big MISTAKE! The game was not responsive at all to my movements and the "sports" were just football drills and lame mini-games. I returned the game and got Kinect Sports instead. This game was much better and had 1,000 times better quality motion detecting. I thought maybe I had set my Kinect up wrong and thats why MotionSports wasn't working, but the other games worked perfectly. Motionsports is a terrible game and NO ONE should buy it. Go with Kinect Sports if you are looking for a fun sports game to play with Kinect!
The Kinect is a must buy. I must say wow this game blow me away. Me and my six year old daughter had a very fun time, playing the football game on here. The boxing is great but will get you tired quick. I have nothing bad to say about this game, only that it will make you super tired.
A Pretty Solid Game
Despite what others may have said about this game, it is actually pretty good. There have been complaints about it reading you properly. Well, I do admit it takes a little while for your body to adjust how the game reads you but after that.... IT IS AMAZING. Other problems noted have been the long 2 minute load times. With the new generation slim 360 I have experienced load times of about 20 seconds. With many challenges ranging from football, soccer, hang gliding, boxing, and many other.(The boxing is really challenging). Point made, if you have a Kinect this game is a must have. You will not be dissapointed.
Overall...an OK game
This game is pretty fun. I just wish it had more sports on it.
Fist of all, I am sorry that this review is so hard to read. This website doesn't let you use paragraphs, so bare with me. I was actually on the bar the other day at Walmart, looking at Kinect Sports or MotionSports. I knew the reviews had been better for Kinect Sports, but I really liked Skiing and Football for MotionSports. Eventually, I ended up picking Kinect Sports and was very pleased. So, a few weeks later i picked up MotionSports. Overall, I was very disapointed. Here I will review each of the six sports included: FOOTBALL: Really the main reason I purchased the game, it turned out to be a TOTAL FALIURE! The sensor just did not pick up my mvements at all, even when I recalibrated it and adjusted it. The sports are divided into mini-games, and the first for football was a jumping and ducking obstacles test. It would 9/10 times not read my ducks, and 5/10 would read jumps. It took me SO LONG to finish it, and since you have to be flawless, it is HARD. The rest of the football games were throw- aways. BOXING: This was the worst of them all. The Kinect would read NONE of my movements. I could do nothing but throw punches that wouldn't appear on screen. The easiest opponeants TROUNCED me. SOCCER: Third worst. You need a TON of room to play this, IF it reads your kicks. I couldn't get past the first mini-game (kicking a penalty shot) so it is bad. HANGGLIDING: This is where it starts to get better. Hangliding actually picked up my movements well, although the game is not too entertaining. You just stick your arms out and lean to move. It was kind of boring. HORSEBACK RIDING: Meh. This picked up about 2/3 of my movements (Not bad), but, like Hang gliding, not very entertaining. Lean to turn, flip imaginary reins to go faster. Not exciting. SKIING: I actually had fun with this one. It picks up all your movements, its fast and fun, and it couldn't be more realistic. The menus are incredibly hard to navigate thrugh, since it occasionaly (and randomly) decides not to pick up one of your arms. Very annoying. Graphics are the only thing that makes this game better than Kinect Sports. They are realistic and sleek, not cartoony. But honestly, that shouldn't matter. The music is apporiate for a sports title, if forgetable. The announcer at first makes good comments, but he only says maybe ten things, so I shut him off. Before this review is concluded, I need to say something that really bugs me abut this game. After you finish a sport, it takes your picture and puts it in a newspaper under a 'funny' healine. There is no way to skip this, so doing it over and over again, seeing the same headline over and over again, get a little repetetive. In conclusion, I would not reccomend this game unless you REALLY want to ski on the Kinect. Buy Kinect Sports instead.
Don't Spend Your Money, Its A Waist!
I was very excited when we first got Motion Sports, and was extremely disappointed when i found out how bad it was. The graphics are okay and so it the sound, but everything is just bad. It never catches your movement such as in football i almost have to lay down to get it to duck. I am pretty short and i had to adjust the camera just so i could reach the top box! And horse back riding that was a big disappointment to, and that was really the only reason why i bought that game! It never saw me moving my arms or trying to control the horse! For soccer i almost had to stand on top of my couch just for it to let me kick the ball! And sometimes it would do things that I wasn't even doing. Hang gliding was awful It would never control correctly! We also got kinect sports it is a much better sports game. I would also recommend Dance Central! Save your money don't buy Motion Sports!
you need the space
this isn't the worst game in existence, but not the best either. to play most of the games you need a little more then 6 feet, when i was playing the soccer mini game i found myself stepping on my couch behind me so i could register me far enough to kick it. other ones like skiing i found to be really touchy at times and the football game didn't recognize if i was ducking. but once you have the room to play and get used to how it works it isn't all that bad of game, just give it a chance.
Is Kinect at all for kids???
Short and to the point. kinect is new and the games... all the games show it. thats not so bad because for the most part they do work although a lot of little things need to be worked out quickly if you want kids to enjoy it without having parents hovering over them helping them to stand in the proper place and so forth. and thats the major problem with motion sports. unlike all of the games i played so far it seems to be the only one that only tracks you from the waist up. i wasn't sure if that was the case until i had my daughter step in to play a game i was playing and it did not find, track, locate (whatever it doe's) her. and even when we reset it and pre-loaded her profile it still acted as if a taller person was standing their and did not adjust. that sucks! because she was excited to play. thankfully i did get kinect sports also. you may want to just do that to start with if your truly getting it for the whole family. Kinect is amazing when it works but the one thing wii has on move and kinect is that its just more user friendly for younger users, you just grab a wii-mote and go. my daughter could put the game in navigate the menu and enjoy the game with little input or help from me. with kinect and move not so much i even seen a few adults pass on play cause they didn't want to even try to deal with it but they still love to watch as long as they don't move too much in the background
ok so i started playing it and i loved every part of it.............i got off for an hour and i just wanted to go back and play so bad and complete the challenges because it is so fun!!
everybody makes this game sound horrible but [my opinoin] this game is great!!! worth the $$$
