Solid Fighting Game
FIGHT! This is a word you hear a lot in Mortal Kombat games, and this one is no different. I am a satisfied customer, and here is why. That word could be used to describe the reason I bought this game in the first place: not for the cheesy comic book and sketchy-styled mortal kombat story lines, but for the gameplay. The moves are solid and the physics are made to look real by the way the characters take each blow. The special moves are AMAZING and are matched with classic moves like Superman's heat vision, Batman's crazy bat-a-rangs and smoke capsules, and Scorpion's spear and teleport punches (The joker's special moves alone had me and my friends cracking up), PLUS dozens of moves I swear you have never seen before. The mid-combat mini games are fun, innovative and add a nice multiplayer element to the game making it good for playing your buddies and battling online (not to mention the lag-free environment). The fatalities were a little disappointing (especially on the DC side), but there are still a few interesting and classic ones. The rage bar adds a desperation element to close fights and can turn the tide of a battle in an instant. The storyline tells you how someone like the Joker can contend with someone like Superman (which normally isn't even a fight), and I guess for a comic book it works. However, if you're looking for a good plot with turbulent twists and turns that keeps you hooked, look elsewhere. There are two unlockable characters, Shao Khan from MK and Darkside from DC. Sorry, no krypt with tons of concept art and funny vids in this one. Still, it's enough to get you to sit through the storyline to gain control of these juggernaughts. The kombo challenges are indeed challenging. I get flashbacks of playing MK deadly alliance konquest mode when I play this mode, and these kombos are even harder. Not impossible, but you got to put in some work to complete the feats of raw kick-ass. For the most part the characters are balanced. I still get the feeling that Raiden and Superman are the two favored fighters for each side because they seem to be the most trouble to contend with. Still, the kombat is intricate enough for the joker to put a cap in the head of the thunder god, so it's not a big issue for this game. The graphics are beautiful, detailed and crisp (Kitana and Sonya look better than ever), and the environments are great and interactive so you don't always finish where you started. MK has never looked so dazzling. The sound is so-so. Most of the voice acting is good (Catwoman sounds a little to eccentric with her purrs in mid-dialogue). The music fits in with the stage you play, but it didn't really impress me. Whoever did the Joker's voice deserves an emmy though (the way he giggles after blowing you up with a joker-bomb is just great). All in all, it's a solid fighting game with more pros than cons. It's a fun game with lots of stuff to figure out and apply into your regime of tricks to defeat your opponent. It's not your average fighter by any means, but that's why I am drawn to it. Hardcore fighting game gurus will probably dismiss this game as a gimmick, but I see a game that has plenty of potential and will give you and your friends hours and days of play, trash-talk, and most importantly, lots and lots of fun.

okay... but.....
it has its flaws but if u cant play m games like the original mortal kombat i guess this is good but half of the TRUE mk fighters aren't in this like melina, johnny cage, jade, kitana's mom. the list goes on they need some dlc fighters for real.

Good game
All in all it is a very good game with many hard challenges. The graphics are pretty good for a game made in 2008 and is good for anyone who is a fan of DC comics or Mortal Combat.

Good Game, If you can't stomach the REAL MK.
I get it, this game has superheroes making it less gruesome for the younger kids who want to play, but there's more missing from this game than just the fatalities and body-part ripping that Mortal Kombat fans enjoy. Many of the MAIN Mortal Kombat characters aren't in here, example JHONNY CAGE! Hello, he's one of the main characters and he's not in here!? They should have taken out someone like Baraka to put in a more important character who, may I say, has been in the series since game one!!! The game combat is okay, but not as intense as some other fighting games I've seen. I like the features of the 'test your might' where you run people through walls and the 'freefall combat' which is when you hit people off the stage. Also, the graphics are very good, and there's so much detail in the clothing and the character when they get hit. But, what also upsets me about this game is the storyline which makes practically no sense and has no connection to the Mortal Kombat storline or the stories of the DC heroes. I only rated this game an 8 because the fighting mechanics are at least fun to work with and the 'idea' of putting these dynamic Universes together was in a way creative. But the story, loss of REAL fatalaties, and picked characters for the MK side really upsets me. If you don't wan't to see heads get ripped off in the REAL Mortal Kombat and don't care what the plot is like, then this game is an ok choice for a fighter, but trust me, it's not the best out there. And I'm sending out a message that even though it was creative to put these Universes together, it was not smart, I hope no one has the bad idea of pairing MK with Marvel, because it's gonna turn out just like this. I wouldn't reccomend this to everyone, but at least it's a decent game, I've seen games fail A-LOT worse than this.

good fighting game
mk vs dc is a fun game for party gamers. the campaign is average long and sometimes boring but the good thing is that the game is boss. all the charecters are fun to play as and the dc is just as good as mk. great game.

Horrible
This game is too hard! I thought this would be a game where I choose my fighter and opponent then beat the crad out of them! The character selection is fine but you can't even make your match, the game makes the matches for you! You go down a list of opponents and on the second last fight or the last one, I can't win the match OR hit the guy! This game is just a waste of whatever cash your willing to give up for it, so don't go out and waste your money on garbage like this! Buy a game that actually has a point to it instead of just attempting to win a fight and then getting so frustrated that you wanna take the game and snap it in half... thanks for reading!
