sabotage187, this is par for the course. Look at the Morrowind: Game of the Year Edition, or anything Metal Gear that has an "S" in the title (Substance etc.), Ninja Gaiden: Black, and pretty much any other game that says "Gold Edition" in the title. In most stores you can currently find Ultimate Alliance for the 360 for about ten bucks less than the Gold Edition is supposed to retail for meaning if you bought it recently it's pretty much all wash for you as the old version and the DLC would cost about the same as the Gold Edition alone. So yeah, it does make a lot of sense and is perfectly fair. If you bought it at launch you have to expect you'd be paying more... after all it was new then and prices drop over time. You're freaking out over something that's perfectly reasonable.
Rated 9 out of 10 by Valenx2 Gold Edition is worth it
I bought ultimate alliance 1 and had a decent storyline but then i bought the gold edition. With eight new chararcters it was worth the extra money and if you enjoyed the first one then get the gold edition because it is totally worth it. The storyline was decent along with controls. The new achievements were a nice addition as well. And seriously who wouldnt want to be Sabretooth and team up with his brother wolverine to take down a bunch of foes of course you can play as venom and team with your friendly neighborhood spiderman too. if gold edition was this good for the first ultimate alliance i cant wait to see marvel ultimate alliance 2 gold edition sadly i havent gotten MUA2 yet but if there is a "gold" edition i probably will be the first to buy it.

I have the first Ultimate Alliance for PS2 and I love it. The gameplay is great and it has a great story line. It took what X-Men Legends started and jumped to a whole new level. Its a little messed up how they are re-releasing a game that people already paid there money for once, but if you really read what they are syaing then you would understand that they didn't just add new characters but they added new missions. And from what I understand if your interaction with people changes the story then that's well worth it alone because the last Ultimate Alliance didn't have that feature. Come on folks if we all dealt with and loved years of Street Fighter re-runs then there should be no complaints here.
Rated 0 out of 10 by DesireForThisGame New Content for New Gamers
The new content on this game is for new gamers guys. I am one of those new gamers. And also, yea you mightve payed 60 bux for the first one and 10 for the expansion but waiting between October and May really isnt worth just 10 dollars. Some people like myslef just got into this game. We didn't wait all this time for GOLD. Nethertheless the differences are small and the wait was full of anticipation but anyday now, the game will be released. Supposedly May 22nd. So newcomers, look forward to it and old members, its no big deal =)

I got this game when it came out and loved it. I'm an old comic fan from the 80's and I couldn't wait to play this game. When the extra's came out on LIVE I thought it was great. But what I should have done was wait until the Gold addition came out and not have to spend extra cash for being an over excited early adopting fool. If you are a comic fan and you have not played MUA then MUA 1.5 is a must have. If you picked up the origional then like me you got FOOL's GOLD.

So I love this game. It stands the test of time, but for anybody who wants it, get the GOLD version. You get the extra characters and that's worth it. Seeing as how you CANNOT download them any longer from Xbox Live Marketplace. Also you can try and get this game from Amazon, but it's $295 new and $70 used. So good luck with that. In closing, great game,. high replayability and the Hulk! How could you say no? HOW!?!?

"These 'Gold Editions' should be expansion packs that sell for like $10-20, straight up these 'Gold Editions' are a rip." They did release it as an expansion. The only thing added to the gold edition is the new hero and villian pack that you can buy for 800 points total. They aren't trying to sell the gold edition to old customers who have the game... it's for brand new people. Reading can be helpful!

I bought this game when it was first released and still love it. Now the announcement of 8 new characters was released and I was confused. I purchased the download from XBox Live and began playing. The characters are awesome, but wish that this download would have included new characters and new missions. If I would have known about a later release that included more characters, I probably would have waited.

They sell versions like this, so people without xbox live accounts can enjoy the new content as well as to attract new customers. Pretty simple if you ask em. I would agree that an exansion disk would be a nice feature for those who have already purchased the original...but it probably isn't economic. I new characters are great. Hulk is pretty tough, but Nightcrawler and Sabertooth rock!
