this will review will have you loving this baseball game before i tell you how to stop errors in the field i like to tell you how of a real experience i am having playing this game, graphics are top notch, the sound, i rate a ten. the camera angles are what you make it. i prefer the view behind the pitcher. the controls are easy too. now lets give a few details on fixing your fielding woes 1,before playing a franchise upgrade your players ratings to 100 percent 2, in game sliders move error sliders to 0 3 also move the slider for the throwing meters to 0. 4.fielders speed to 100 also upgrade the players throwing accuracy sliders to 100 percent 5 also if you want turn of the fatigue level for pitchers. . these changes wii improve your fieldings i have been playing for a week and haven't had any drop balls becouse my phillies play like major leaugers. the game will also play like mlb 2k7, move your players in the direction of the yellow spot and the player will field like a pro.

I am a life long MVP then MLB player. This is my first experience with the 2k series. The graphics of the field and crowds are absolutely phenomenal. The controls take a while to get use to and the lag between batters is too long. I feel like I sit and pound the a button to get the next guy up faster. Once you get the hitting down, it seems like home run derby. The glitches are everywhere in this game. From the little bio's when the player is up to bat (Lance Berkman did not finish 2nd in NL saves last year). To the first base man not staying on the bag. I made over 50 throws over yesterday while hitting the green every time and a dozen times the first baseman was straddling the bag and the runner was called safe. Now every time I throw over I hold down the control toward the runner so that at least if he is off the bag, he will tag him out. The commentary on this is outstanding and the sound is great. Since I bought a x box and not a ps3 this is what I am going to play this year. Happy hitting!

I have played many baseball videogames in my life, and this is one of the best. It picks up where it left off last year but in my opinion made the hitting and pitching a lot more enjoyable. The graphcis are simply astounding, but when it comes to the players mitts you can tell they needed to put more time into it. Now for the gameplay and game modes; the gameplay is oveall smooth, but i still sometimes notice that when i turn a double play, the second baseman or shorstop throws the ball not even looking at their target of first base. However, the throwing mechanics are easy to pick up on and there are some cool outfield camera angles when the ball is hit into the outfield. The game modes are fun, you have your standard franchise mode, and then the online is a lot bettter than last years. I find that i can get into a game without any trouble and the connection is fine. Overall if you are a baseball fan there is no reason why you shouldnt take a hack at this great game.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Zack Cole Stop complaining and take the time to get used to the controls
People are writing bad reviews after playing the game for about 5 minutes. The pitching controls are not impossible at all, they just take a little while to get used to. And they're really fun once you do get used to them. Stop writing bad reviews because you're too lazy to spend a little time to learn the controls. It's challenging, but not annoying, hitting home runs isn't really easy but definitely possible. Fielding is pretty easy, and very realistic, as fly balls actually move around a little from the wind. The commentary is AMAZING. It's so realistic. And the graphics are just as good, if not better than MLB 09 the show. Batting controls are very easy on classic mode, and on total control, its the same as the pitching. Take a minute to get used to them and they're really great. All other controls are very easy, just a button push. Bottom line, buy this game, be patient and learn the controls and you're really going to enjoy it. Lots of features and a great franchise mode as well as other modes.
Rated 8 out of 10 by Yankeesfan1 Pretty Cool Game
This game was pretty awesome graphics are good only a the look a little fake but thats what a video game is right. This game is so much batter than 2k7. The picthing is way more realistic because you are useing the right anolog stick other than using x,y,rb,a,and b. the only thing i dont really like about it was that the game controls were changed. I got mad a 1st but once i figured out the controls the game got so much better. then theres the main menu that is pretty complex . it is hard to figure out at 1st but it gets easier over time. the batting is the same but the baserunning has changed and the fielding did 2. you press y instead of x to call off the ball. the only thing about the create a player thing is its hard to get the face just right there are almost to many ways to customize you mlb player. the eyes are the hardist part about it.because you can open them to much and they look funny or you dont open them enough and they look funny. but other than that this game is awesome.thats play ball "sandlot"

THis has got to be the worst baseball game on the market. Every year I get my hopes up that 2k sports will produce a good baseball game for the xbox 360. Every year its the same result. Really bad. I was playing this last night for the first time, and I brought a pitcher in from the bullpen and the pitching coach stood behind me while I was trying to pitch I couldn't even see the catchers glove for the target. In the outfield it is really hard to catch the ball your fielders freeze up, and most of the time if you hit a shallow ball in the outfield its an automatic base hit. Other glitches i noticed are the outfielders walking through the wall, when the manager walks off the mound he sinks into the ground while walking to the dugout.. The graphics were good though, and I like the play by play commentary. But overall if your looking for the best baseball game buy mlb 09 the show. I wish I had a ps3 to play it on, but for now I'll settle for playing it on my ps2.

If you are truly a baseball player like myself (collegiate baseball) then you will love this game. It has the feel of a real hardcore baseball environment and it has a good feel for the players. It really does the 2K company a lot of good by producing this game. This 2K9 is probably the best baseball game 2K Sports has come out with in at least 4 years. I am very happy that I got this game. I have not been able to put it down. Every day I come home, do whatever homework/studying I have, then go straight to playing this game. The online interface is easy as can be and it is just incredible. The graphics on the game are outstanding. Again, for anyone who is truly a baseball player/fan get this game! It is a great game that really puts you into the mind of a baseball player, I can tell from experience. It is loads of fun but does take some time getting used to. Just take your time and learn everything, and once you do, you will be having the time of your life.

I downloaded the demo for MLB2K9, and played 2 six-inning games (demo allows only 3 innings). I thought the gameplay was fun. I thought the play-by-play announcers were excellent. The fans in the stadium were much improved. But the players and the bullpen looked more cartoonish than MLB 2K7. The players did move realistic. The bullpen and coach had some glitches. I did like the hitting stick (analog stick), how easy it was to pitch or when you are at bat. Although, after a while my thumb was getting sore. Hopefully you can switch over to just pressing a button for either batting or pitching. I did not like the interface of where the players are at base icon. So that when they moved on to the next base it almost seemed like one of those superficial carnival style win-a-prize at the race icons. I did not download MLB 09 "The Show" because they have not produced it for the Xbox 360. But I did see clips of it for the PS3. I think that one looks much better. I don't know about the game play. I think I will rent the MLB 2K9.
Rated 2 out of 10 by corkyseed Awful. I hated it
Ok. well I bought the game and at first i tried it by just playing a an easy exhibition match. and I got like. 5 achievemnts right off the bat so i was really happy. But then i went to play the season mode. it was awful. player rosters were accurate and all that but I had to change the controls to classic.. cuz the joystick pitching and batting is just awful. and when i dont have it set on custom settings for batting. it takes like. 2 seconds for a 96 mph fastball to reach homeplate? i think not. it was just impossible to hit the ball without boosting up your batters eye so high that it basically swings for you. and it's like. impossible to see where the balls gonna land in the strike zone cuz of the huge bat in the center of the strikezone to see where you will swing. and online was bad cuz you had to the joystick. and it lagged. I just absolutely hated the gameplay in it. If i could. i would trade in my 360 for a ps3 and so get mlb 09 the show. my favorite baseball game of all time. it's awesome. DONT BUY MLB 2K9!!!!
Rated 2 out of 10 by Ndrums2 2K8 WAS BETTER... Pitching easier on 2k9
The pitching became easier to understand with this year's game, but why didn't they keep things the way they were and just try to improve on it... they aren't showing the outside of the stadiums like last year's game. Last year's game had some great replays of homers from awesome angles... This year's game seems so cheap for me... I like how they made the crowd look more realistic and how they reach out for foul balls and homers. To hit a homer is so friken hard in this game... I hate it... it's like, last year's game had the players on steroids and this year's game are steroid free... !?!... The Franchise mode on last year's game was a lot easier... This year's online play is easier to play for me, now that the pitching is easier to understand... This year's HRD sucks... you can hit a couple homers, but after a while, you can't hit anymore... Last year's graphics were better... they should've just improved last year's game rather than starting from scratch... it seems like every year they want to re-make a new baseball game...
