Major League Baseball 2K7
This is a great baseball game!
Hi. I just recently got this game for the xbox 360. it is a cheap game, and you can't go wrong for the price that it is now. i'll start out with the graphics. this is where the game absolutely excels. the player models, jerseys, equipment and faces all look fantastic. the jerseys even ripple when it's windy! also, when you slide the dirt stays on the uniform too. so those are pretty cool parts of the graphics. the stadiums look great too. there are fireworks that go off when u hit a home run, which adds a little bit of excitement to the game. the crowd lookfs really cool too, there are plenty of different animations. the sound is almost as good. the crowd is lively, as well as the stadium music and pa announcer. the commentary, by john miller and joe morgan, is also good. they can get a little repetitive but they are very good, and sound realistic. gameplay is equally as good. there are a variety of plays, and it does actually seem close to a real baseball game. there are a couple frame rate issues here and there, but they're rare. overall, this game is very good. if you're looking for a good baseball game and don't want to spend a lot of money, then you should pick up mlb 2k7 for the xbox 360!
After last year...
Last year 2K and Kush dropped the ball big time, taking exclusive marketing rights and hyping the game like crazy. The day I got it it froze contiunually, as did millions of other copies. The game sucked anyway, with horrible gameplay and slow reactions. Was the most unrealistic baseball game I've ever played. Horrible, a pathetic attempt for 2K. I returned the game and am looking forward to hopefully a better game this year. I read on the internet that one of the head guys from EA's MVP series (the best ever) came over to 2K and helped redesign this game from the ground up. They are supposedly getting back to basics and focusing on the fundamental aspects of the game instead of all the extra, unreal crap. Turbo and showoff catches will be gone, players will react more realistically, sounds like this game is getting a much-needed overhaul. Trying not to get my hopes up too much, but I'm really looking forward to the release of this game. Not having a baseball game last year sucked.
Stop hatin'. Play the game first!!
With names likE EA-FAN & MVP4LIFE what kind of review do you expect to get. Not an honest one. If they liked the game they would still hate on it. Dude, play the game first before you say stupid stuff with no evidence. Also EA FAN, last I checked Madden has progressively gotten worse. Have you seen the boards on that game? I myself will buY MLB 2K7. If it sucks oh well. Won't be the first time I bought a bad game (Madden 06, Madden '07- xbox360). Last years MLB did need some work but so far it seems that they listened to the people that matters most, US!! When has EA done that. MVP!! That game hasn't changed in 4 years. It's the same game. Throw a few new features in, like MINI-GAMES (Who Cares about that). EA needs to work on the boot commentating. Have you heard the RADIO announcer in MADDEN. What a JOKE!! Oh yeah, NCAA looks exactly like and plays like guess what, MVP. Wow!! Talk about variety. I played half a season on MVP and Craig Biggio had 46 homers. NUFF SAID!!
This is a good game. I was pretty skeptical about it after buying MLB 2K6, which was horrible. Everything is good except for a couple of things, however. The computer is amazing on defense, it's so frustrating smashing a ball deep in the gap only to have a mediocre outfielder come out of nowhere and dive 10 feet to catch it. In almost every game I've played, I've smashed a ball deep, for almost a sure home run, and then see the outfielder climb the wall or jump 15 feet to steal my HR! This happens way too often and it's really frustrating. The running controls are kind of hard also. You can download roster updates, so you can have the teams from the end of the season, and get the amazing Tim Lincecum and Ryan Braun in the game. This game is really good and it's a bargain and i recommend it to everybody who likes baseball, but seriously, the computer's defensive ability will get you really frustrated or sometimes really, really mad.
mlb 2k 07 worth a gamble??
i always bought mvp series, i loved it i never did try 2k7. i do own nhl 2k7. i love it alot, and yes it does freeze i would say maybe after every 20 games or so so instead of playing 3 or 4 games in a row and losing all the data i just save after every game it seems to work. back to baseball. i hate the fact that 2k7 is only for 360. i thought mvo was coming out waiting and waiting i realized holy hell that 2k7 is the only baseball game out there. i am going to pay 60 dollars to find out and hope that this will be a awesome game. for only being the only baseball game i would hope that they would make one hell of a game with no sideaffects like continuosly freezing or having my players over run bases. last year i got soccer not baseball, for you out there do not ever get fifa soccer it sucked hard stick with winning eleven series it is awesome. so if this 2k7 winds up being nothing but crap i will never buy another 2k7 game of any sport again.
Its a Grand Slam!
This game is fun to play. You can choose what kind of uniforms and the conditions to play your game at any stadium you can choose! This game actually looks like your watching a real baseball game on tv. You can argue at the umpire, be the umpire, have injuries and ejections! Its pretty fun to watch. You also get to hear the real Joe Morgan and Jon Miller! Its fun and i recommend to all the gamers who like baseball! Also you can view your sky box and check out your trophies, awards, and even play minigames like darts and air hockey. The only weird thing is that when you are going to the spot to catch a ball and youre there, youre player has to stretch to catch it! Plus you know how in old games you can walk thru people, well in this you can collide! Only if you call that you got it!
No Way is the Major League Baseball better!
2K6 was one of the worst baseball games I have ever played! EA Sports should be begging to get the rights back to produce another MVP for the 360! MVP 05 on the regular XBOX is still the best baseball game out there! 2K7 better be good... If not, there is going to be a ton of unhappy gamers out there. I'm very upset that all these gamers out there actually "like" 2K6, is was a pathetic excuse for a baseball game, the graphics were terrible, the fields were too small, the mechanics of the players movements were not good at all, the game play was just.... well dumb. Being a college baseball player, when pitching, you do not throw the ball where you want it to cross the plate, you throw to the catchers glove... I mean, come on people... 2K6 sucked, and I just hope 2K7 is 1000 times better. I will rent it from blockbuster before I spend 60 bucks, so beware baseball lovers, don't waste your money before testing it out. GO ASTROS!
Baseball fans will love it
Its a great game period. It will last you long with seemingly endless franchise. I love this game and would recommend it to anyone who is a sports fan
lets hope for the best
So here we are again, the next installment of the ill fated mlb 2k series. for anyone who witnessed the utter disaster that was mlb 2k6 on the XBOX 360, let me apologize for 2k sports. poor animation, terrible menu options and a downright broken fantasy/ franchise feature. This is a warning to perspective buyers of this franchise's baseball titles --- Rent it first. MVP baseball is the model for which the kids at 2k sports should of followed but instead they decided to release a beta (at best) version of something that they call baseball (just barely) I guess i could of made this entry a little less bias and more objective but 2k sports doesnt give you much to celebrate or praise. they simply took a step backwards from where the EA sports team was at in 2005...YES.2005. so lets hope for a much improved 2007 version or i'm sure we'll all be pulling for 2k sports losing their MLB licensing ASAP. cheers.
I purchased this game when it came out. I think it is one of the truest baseball sims out there. Even now its 2009, and its better than the new one out. The players look realistic and the gameplay is excellent. You feel like you are at the ballpark. They did a great job with the day/night physics. For instance, when you play a late game in the evening you can see the nighttime onset. Sometimes it rains and they have a delay of game. You can put your favorite songs in also. There are some little quirks, like when you play against the CPU the outfielder won't even look as he catches the ball at the warning track or the fence. They could have made the crowd more realistic. The anouncers are very good. Its fun to play this baseball game. For the price, it is a steal. Its well worth it.
