by Zandra25 Honestly a really good game.
You would think because of the price it was a piece of junk. It's honestly one of the FUNNEST games I have ever played. It takes you a while to get into the actually story mode game because you have to figure out things all on your own, an there's really no help. There's no guiding arrow or anything, but your teammates tell you what to do at certain points! Now, it's Capcom, so you have to remember it's more arcade based. But that's the beauty of it! If any of you were ever for Goldeneye or Nightfire multiplayer, this is for you! I was amazed to see how like the James Bond multiplayer it was. The music is pretty great, and the stages are really cool! The graphics are really really nice. The crunching of snow from your feet is realistic, and things actually make sense. Haven't had a single glitch yet! There are tons of weapon presets, and you can customize your characters clothing! You can also add a team of monsters for you and your men to go after! Jump into the robotic suit and fire rockets all over the stage! It's really really fun, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves mindless grenade launching multiplayer monster fun!

Lost Planet Colonies Edition is a very good game. The original Lost Plant was the first game I got for my Xbox 360, and when I heard that Colonies Edition was out, I went straight to Gamestop and bought it. Colonies Edition is probably the funnest onlie game I have played so far, and I havent stopped playing it since I bought it. The graphics are still amazing, not much has changed since the original, but a definate boost up. The story line for the game is incredible, a little hard to understand, but very good. The sound for the game is also incredible, the guns sound realistic. My brother even walked in while I was playing and said, "what movie are you watching?" The online for Colonies Edition is amazing. If you have played the original Lost Planet, you know what the Akrid are. If not, the Akrid are a race similar to aliens. Online you can play as them, in a game type called Akrid hunter. If you like 3rd person shooters, or even 1st person shooters, I highly recomend this game.
Rated 1 out of 10 by RoR35 Changes were made to gameply
If you are under the impression that this is the same Lost Planet game with just new additions then you are wrong. It's correct that there are many new additions to the game, but Capcom did not keep the game the same at all. There were MANY changes made to the gameplay of the game. I am not exactly sure why these changes were made, but there is definitely a difference between the two. They messed with certain weapons making the reload time longer and from shot to shot longer. Also they messed with the shotgun roll and shoot. Some say they did this to make it more fair, others say they had to do it to occupy for the different game modes. I really don't see any of them being valid. The fact of the matter here is Capcom kept quiet about the gameplay tweaks they made so that people would buy this game. If you would like to play a messed up and altered version of Lost Planet, then Colonies is the game for you. Me being a LP fan, I'm very disappointed by this game and how Capcom left out information regarding it. Oh yea, and no enhancements or fixes for the online mode. Still is terribly laggy.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Gamer 4 ever New Favorite Game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First off, the graphics are great, the snow that affects your look, right down to the shadow movemevt. The length isnt that good because I was able to beat it 4 times in a 5 day period. The story is one of those "now what" kind of things. The wepon selection is great, you have 11 guns and 4 gernades to choose from. My favorite part of this game is x box live, you never know what will happen. The story is predictable in many ways but on live in a team battle with rocket launches, things are just blowing up every where end unless you are a hacker then you and every one else is getting blown up every 5 seconds or so. The bad part is the amount of amunition, all of the good things have little amo. The best part aere the Vital Suits, it is like a tank with legs, each one has its own special ability.
Rated 9 out of 10 by ryanc519 good attempt by the Japanese developers
I personally have not played the previous edition of lost planet, but I will go ahead and comment on this colony edition. The game is obviously a Japanese developers' attempt to break into the American market, which is now filled with first person shooters. The graphics are on par with other games on the 360. The controls are quite handy when compared to other third person shooters that I have played throughout the years. (consider stranglehold... it was meant to be played with 4 hands) Sometimes the control has everything to do with how well you immerse into a shooter game, and this game does it very well in terms of incorporating easy control which enables the player to dive into the gameplay immediately. Story wise it still needs a bit of improvements.

I had the game for a long time but never beat it. So last month I started the game from the beginning though I wasn't very far, and just beat it Monday. Before I didn't make much sense so I lost interest, but having beaten it can't tell why now. One thing that stick out about the game is the graphics, and I am not a graphics junky. The game was originally released in 2006 and the graphics looked amazing for the time it was released. What makes the game a masterpiece is the story and gameplay which looks well thought out. Though the campaign is only 11 missions long each mission is long and can take a couple times to get through, but its how they are put together is the games real appeal. Its a 3rd person survival shooter because you have fight off Akrid and enemy Ai while keeping your thermal energy supply stocked, because if you run out you will die. The missions are can be quite hard even on normal difficulty, and if you die you can find yourself starting from the levels beginning so work to reach the levels waypoint. Most levels end in a boss fight were you will either fight a giant Akird or Nevec the games main antagonist. Another interesting thing is that the main character Wayne is based off of Korean super star Byung Hun Lee.

Lost Planet originally was realy great when it came out and had some of the most intense battles I have ever done. This expansion will bring more people to play Lost Planet and then the game will be better than it was before! And for only $30? I will definatley be getting this when it comes out.

Well, this is gonna be fun. I cannot wait for this, lol. The grappling hook swinging glitch I hope it still intact because I am going to us that in a fight with players who are akrids lol they can't touch me, unless they jump. Well, I cannot wait for this phenomenal game to come out.
