L.A. Noire is a very good game for the gamer that likes to be analytical, gather clues, and figure things out. It's slow paced, as police work usually is, but it's also very rewarding. The Motion Scan technology in this game is fantastic, and I see it being built upon for future releases of completely different games. The ability to read an actors expression is certainly pushing a new paradigm in games that just hasn't been executed before with any success. Team Bondi delivers here.
The story in this game isn't something new. Allowing the user to be the police officer, and a good one, is for the most part new. There is almost an RPG like feel to the game, with long dialog while you're interrogating people. This may come off as boring to some, but I assure you the scenes aren't just fillers. They're fun, interesting, integral parts of the whole story.
The game is still an open world concept, so you can move around and explore the beautiful old L.A. city that Team Bondi laid out. There are also a number of side missions that you can do.
Rated 10 out of 10 by jpfrehs This isnt GTA in the 40's......
Must play. Mass Effect gamers along with people who appreciate 1940's "Noire" movies will love. Graphics, voice acting, sound, gameplay, writing.....the story is top notch. It's a Rockstar game tha;ts not what you expect, like Red Dead and Bully were games you were not expecting. Should be 16/18 plus to enjoy, there is nudity during the Black Dhalia murders, Heroine, Pot, nudity, and very graphic.(more than GTA 4)Very dark game when you start to get in it. Buy this for the story and for the love of that 40's "Noire" style of crime fighting/style. Mass Effect fans will love this. Be aware you spend more time investigating crime scenes, evidence, chasing leads, and interviewing suspects. That' the meat of the game. You will recognize some voices from the AMC hit show, "Mad Men". Those who have watched that, This game will make you feel like you are apart of that world and lifestyle. Very cool, "hip", and Americana. Don't pass this one up.

My friend had walked into my house and saw me playing this and he had thought it was a an animated movie until he saw the controller in my hand the graphics are just a little short under perfect nailing every detail possible with life like physics. the sound is great too realistic sounds are made on whatever is happening in the game.the gameplay is amazing always keeps you wondering and can sometimes become real intense or mellow and calm depending on the situation. this is one of the best games i have bought in awhile and i suggest buying this game.
Rated 10 out of 10 by BReview Super Fun a must buy
RockStar nailed it with this game. Although it's not a lot of shooting or action. It's a mystery in a video game. Searching for clues, Questioning suspects. Trying to solve and break cases, Very entertaining. And, It takes place in the 40's era with all the lifestyle, Lingo and Classic looks of old Hollywood. A super fun game to play if your looking to use your mind and, Investigate crimes. Very fun and entertaining game !

I ordered this game online. Once I got it, I realized they sent two Disk 1 from the complete edition! I'm missing the last disk! I payed for the complete edition and got an extra Disk 1! The game is amazing but I am very disappointed that I payed for the whole edition and I received the normal edition.

Rated 10 out of 10 by nerdybirdy1990 My all-time favorite game
My husband bought this game for me due to my love of detective shows and old Hollywood themed material. I must say, it has become my absolute favorite game of all time. I am absolutely obsessed with it! The story and graphics are incredible, the music is dark and really sets the tone for the intensity of the game, and the controls are very smooth and easy to use. Add to that there are a lot of things to do. Once you complete story mode (which took me about three days) you can unlock the free roam mode and go back to find more of the cars, newspapers, and film reels you may have missed during the story, which leads to various achievements. The new technology that they used for the facial expressions and actions is awesome, especially during the interrogations. There is a lot of action in the game, so I don't really understand why some people said the game was boring. There are plenty of gunfights, fist fights, car chases, etc. to keep you fully entertained between the "paperwork". However, this game does require you to think. It is not just a mindless shooter like Call Of Duty that anyone can play. You have to make decisions and come to the correct conclusions based on body language and the evidence you collect. Therefore, if you are not a fan of games in which you have to actually think things through, maybe this isn't the one for you. But if you are like me, and want a little critical thinking sprinkled into your shooting, try this one out. You will not be disappointed. Rockstar, you have a winner on your hands, and I sincerely hope there is a sequel on the horizon.

- Chasing Cars ( Best Part Personally)
