History Channel: Civil War - Used
2 armies, 2 goals, 2 flags
to explain my love for this game is i really dont enjoy this game . the reasons why i like this poorly designed game is that 1 i love history and 2 i love first persons. however, this game is great for history fanatics and first person shooters who are also interested in the country's bloodiest war.
pretty good game worth the price
at first i wasnt liking it but about after 4 missions it gets really fun its worth the price, now it only as 12 missions but you could play those missions over and over again without getting bored i really liked it, its a little difficult so if your not a good gamer (if your a kid gamer) it may be really hard, if your good at modern warfare this should be average difficulty the WEAPONS ARE AWESOME if really feels like the civil war example the musket shoots 1 round then it takes 1 minute to reload in real life, on the game it takes about 15 seconds still 1 shot but u also have your revolver about 6-8 second reload 6 shot, rifle 5 shots 5 second reload multiple sniper rifles all 4 second reload 1 shot and a scope, plus your trusty sword if all your guns need to be reloaded of course no reloading or running out of ammo for the sword buy it
This is alright. The graphics are horrible for xbox 360, and forget about the xbox live part of the game. That's the only reason I bought this game for 360. I was hoping I could play team deathmatch as a union soldier, or something like that. Heck no, the only thing that ties this game to live is a leaderboard. Nothing else. The campaign is fairly easy at first, but as you go deeper into the war it gets really hard. I finally quit playing it after a while, since it got to a point where all of my fellow soldiers helping me died, ( I did my best keep them alive, but it's really hard to do while keeping yourself alive) , and I was alone against a line of enemy soldiers shooting at me, with no cover to use. It was very aggrivating. So, whatever you do, don't buy this game for xbox live! If you think you can beat it go ahead. I just couldn't get past that one part. You might be able too, but just remember KEEP YOUR TEAMMATES ALIVE AT ALL COSTS! That's where I always fail. I try and try, but they always end up dying. Hopefully you will do better than I can. If you buy the game.
A decent historical game...
Ok first off I know people feel like this is like Call of Duty, but just so you know its made by Activision which also makes Call of Duty. Overall the game wasnt bad, it was a decent shooter with a historical aspect added. I understand that 1 shot weapons can be a little annoying at times, but that was what the bulk of the soldiers had during the Civil War. I really enjoyed the battles and seeing them through the soldiers eyes. Even though the graphics werent all that great the game is playable and you know what your shooting. The sound really helps the atmosphere with cannons balls exploding everywhere and the "Rebel Yell" in the background. All in all this isnt a game for everyone and more for people who want a decent Civil War game that focuses more on the historical aspects then the gaming aspect.
This game is awesome except when you die you have to restart the mission all over again. So overall it's a pretty good game.
love this game love the weapons in the game great for those who dont really just want a game that is impossible to beat love the hisorical aspect of the game the game really made me get into civil war history
very very short
the game is very short but the gameplay is good.
I wish it was longer ,then I would rate it 9 stars but its not.
this game is good
For people who says this game is horrible is so VERY wrong this game came out like 4 or 5 years ago so it wont be perfect for players who only likes Cod graphics only. There is no storyline because it doesn't need one it's trying to show you the experience of the civil war not to be dramatic.
OK Game About The War That Changed The USA
The game's graphics are not the greatest, but the gameplay and the sound are fairly good. This game is, like one person said, trying to be like Call Of Duty.
Got better with time
I wrote a review a couple months ago when I first bought this game, and gave it a rating of 6. I was wrong. It actually got better with time. the more you play it the more you appreciate it... or at least for me. It's still trying to be call of duty, but it does a better job than I originally said. One of the best scenes in the game is at chattanooga, when you are crawling through the trenches why bodies fly all around. There is a similar scene in selma. Over all this game ended up having more of a lasting appeal than i thought, and deserves a better score.
