Frustrating
This game is horrible. It won't ever let you save until like 3 missions in and if you don't have time to play for hours, then it's pointless because you have to start all over.
I would NEVER recommend this game to anyone. Save your $$$, even if it is for the pre-owned version.

Great!
Awesome game. One of the best flight sims for Xbox 360.

this game....totally not worth it
this game is not good at all. i played the first mission and thought it was really bad considering a enemy plane will take about 100 bullets to shoot down and you could line your plane up behind another and you can basically snipe the plane. The talking between the characters is like everything is a joke, i highly doubt that if your homeland was being attacked and u were the last known defence, you wouldnt make jokes.... save your money, dont get this unless you like shooting targets multiple times... and the checkpoints, when u die u get started ALL over, u would get sent to kill 5 planes, then 10 would come, then when 20 come u die.... well guess what... YOU HAVE TO GO AND KILL THE FIRST FIVE AGAIN!!!! if your looking for a flight sim. buy IL2 sturmovik, totally worth it especially now, its a steal

A good flight sim, just short
I got this game as a gift because I enjoy flying and flight simulators. I found the game to be overall really good. The graphics were excellent, the the mechanics worked well, and the two different types of controls worked well. It was easy to pick up but very difficult to master. The selection of planes was really good. I tended to play using the P-51 Mustang. The planes are unlock-able during missions in-game over three difficulty settings. I initially played using the easiest "rookie" difficulty setting and on multiple occasions I got destroyed or crashed. The health regenerates, but the physical damage to the planes stays. The game is extremely engaging. Overall it was a good game with good graphics and good playability, but it was too short for my tastes. I didn't spend all that long on playing it, within two weeks, and playing it on and off and I already saw the end. I would recommend either buy it used or rent it.

Worst Game Ever
I rented this game and within 30 mins. I hated it... I have played several flight simulation games and this one has to be the worst... I'm taking it back the same night I rented it... The dog fights are terrible with so many targets and no support... I spent more time trying not to get killed then enjoying the game... You squadron / wingmen do nothing to help you survive... At one point the odds were 25 to 1. Every time I acquired a target I was getting shot down... As long as you flew as fast as the plan could fly, almost to the point you were getting motion sickness from the landscape flashing by, you could survive. I was so mad I threw the controls down and gave up... If I had purchased this game I would have taken it back to get my money back... Hopefully I can exchange this for a different game rental...

Flight Simulation Made Easy
As a long time WWII flight simulator fan, I've played numerous PC games that required quite a bit of pilot knowledge just to play, this game has finally simplified it to the point of enjoying it much more. The graphics are excellent, cool story and dialog throughout the entire game, even if you'd never played a flight simulator before, it will get you hooked! The negatives, you can only fight for the allies in a campaign. When you reach the mission "London on Fire", even at rookie staus, it's almost impossible to win. And not enough same points. You have to start from the very beginning of each checkpoint. Other than that, great game, I rate it a 9 overall. Hope a sequel is in the making. Or, XBOX Live patches to whereextra campaigns are added.

Bit of a let down
Having played the Heroes Over the Pacific game I was very much looking forward to this sequel. However, having now played the sequel I am somewhat disappointed. Let me start with the pros of the game; I love the art work and the realistic dogfight where pieces of the enemy planes come off as your shooting of the target increases is a wonderful addition to the game play. Now to a long list of cons; I thought the controls were poorly done in this game. There is no 180 degree view from the cockpit. The sound effects of the guns could have been much better. The monotony of the missions is burdensome. In one mission you have to fly out of Berlin using a map of the earth technique that keeps you close to the street surface or enemy anti-aircraft guns will shoot you down. This is nothing more than a race against the clock mission, very boring. All in all I had hoped for more.

This is a great game
This is a great game for those wanting to satisfy the fighter pilot within while at the same time preserving your sanity by not going so deep that you must be an actual pilot to play it. That’s not to say that the game is an over-simplistic arcade game, that would be doing the game a major disservice. What impresses about this one is that it is NOT a sim, it IS an arcade flight combat game, but offers a much richer and in-depth experience than is typical from an arcade style game. The controls feel great. They feel natural and are easy to pick up but offer a wide variety of aerial maneuvers. Since the game is a bit above the level of your typical arcade combat game, there is a small learning curve when it comes to the controls, but not because they are awkward or anything like that. It’s mainly because the controls have a nice range of play, allowing you to finesse your maneuvers better as you get used to how nicely subtle the flight stick or game pad stick can be manipulated. For someone expecting pure arcade controls, this was a very welcome surprise for me. Absolutely responsive. For all who are interested in arcade flight games with just a little bit more, this is a perfect game to play.
