Rated 8 out of 10 by RE fan! more of an arcade game
this game is great there is plenty to do but all of it can be accomplished in a very short time. The story mode being about 3-4 hours long for me (i have not played many of the previous installments.) 3-4 hours of playing to beat a game is in no way worth $edit. personally i do not think that any game should be worth 60 or so dollars but that's not why i'm here. it is a great game but with very little replay value. developers did try to give you more to do what with the different clubs to join and assorted crests to find all of which except for the crests are very quick to complete and do not challenge the average even my 5 year old cousin could win a duel and mix a perfect potion (good controls) it would of helped if the developer went more in depth maybe instead of just a duel how about you chase them a little give the user more to do in that little amount of time. high price.fun experience.low value sums up harry potter and the half blood prince video game
Rated 9 out of 10 by Ananamyous Pretty good game
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is not terrible but not perfect as well. This is why: Controls: The controls are simple and easy to get used to. Graphics: The graphics are flat out amazing. It is excactly like the hogwarts in the movies. THe castle, The quidditch pitch, hogsmeade it is amazing. My friend saw me playing and asked me what movie I was watching. Stroyline/Length: The idea of the storyline is pretty good. I mean it isn't the same as the book but it is as similar as it can get. The lenght of the the story isn't that long but you can join clubs and those clubs have stuff that can keep you busy but it is still pretty short. Achievements: The achievments are really easy to get. You litteraly just play and you gat them. I got like 200+ in one day. Dueling/Quidditch: Quidditch isnt that fun but duelling is awesome Overall this game is pretty good

I had this game for ps2 and I loved every minute of it but I lost the memory card for my ps2 so if I ever wanted to play it I had to play it from the beginning each time I couldn't save and I gave my dad some money to get me it after he gets off work and I'm just so excited I'm a huge Harry potter fan I read all the books watched all the movies I love it I love the story line and the one thing I don't like about this game is just how short the story line is I read reviews and their right it took my 2 hours to complete the story and I absolutely loved the fact of free roaming around the castle I hope it's better than the ps2 version and I'm so excited for it
Rated 8 out of 10 by ~moon~ Great Game, but a little short
I bought this game two days ago and i have almost completed it 100%. The story mode is fun but way to short. They could have added more things that you have to do in the story mode. The flying is fun and easy. The spell casting is really good and easy to remember, but there could have been more spells that you could learn. Potions is amazing it is so easy to get used to and there is so many potions that you can do. Dueling is one of the best things in the game. There are a lot of duels that you can do With different houses. The achievements are extremely easy to get i literaly got 480 gamerscore in one day. There is a mulitplayer part of the game in which you use characters that you unlock during the game to duel eachother. If you are a harry potter fan you will like the game so i do reccomend it.
Rated 8 out of 10 by USAF AIRMAN Great Game for HP Fans.
Honestly many other may not agree but if you love HP and have played the Hp games since the Sorcers Stone then youll love it,even if your new to the series it is an excellent game with some fo the greatest graphics Ive seen. The story is kind of short but its compensated in the time it takes to find all the crests around the castle and the different clubs for example the Potionis Club has alot fo potions for you to make. All in all the castle is spot on spot detail it looks exactly like the movie itself Ive tested Ive read the books seen the movies and it is as I had expected and thought it would look excellent game is you can get past the short story so buy it! I hope this is useful in your decision to buy this game I love it and I hope you will too.
Rated 8 out of 10 by Gamer_Chick Good but short
This game is challenging in most areas but I found that there was way to much video content. It seemed more like watching the movie than playing a game. While some of the characters bear a striking resemblance others are not a good likeness to the actors in the movie. This game does not take long enough to finish and the rewards for the challenges aren't much incentive. I found the previous installment to be much more satisfactory because you had to actually think to get things accomplished. There needs to be more interaction, challenges, and difficulty. I Sincerely hope that the seventh installment will live up to my expectations and be worth the money I will pay. I Don't recommend this game if your looking for a serious task to take on.
Rated 9 out of 10 by Harry Potter: Fun, but simplistic Best Harry Potter Potter game of them all
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is a game mainly meant for fans of the series. If you're wanting to play this game because of the story and you haven't read the book or seen the movie, you're probably going to be confused in the end because it doesn't really explain the story perfectly. It does an okay job if you have read the book or seen the movie. This is because you'll already understand the story of the Half Blood Prince. When it comes to gameplay, the controls are simple. When you fly your broom, all you use if the left thumbstick. When you make potions, you use the left thumbstick to select ingredients. You use the A button to lift up or drop ingredients and to pour them into the cauldron, you use the right thumbstick. In combat/dueling, you cast spells with the right thumbstick. To dodge spells that are being cast your way, you use LT and RT. To move Harry, you use the left thumbstick. This is also the control you use when you are walking around even if you're aren't dueling. The graphics are great although some of the faces can be a little off when there is a close up. In the end, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince basically lets you live Harry Potter's life as he would live it: cast spells, duel, explore Hogwarts, and collect things. Hopefully, improvements will be made when they release Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows the game.

It was an easy game but a very fun game. I wish it were longer but overall, great addition to my Harry Potter collection.
Rated 7 out of 10 by mnBroncos solid game but way to short
well i just got this game on monday and now its tuesday and i have already bet the game. its still a sloid game and im probably going to return it within the week to get a different game. i wish they had more fighting in the game like all ur battles are just one on one duels. and besides that u play quitich wich is just flying ur broom through circles in the sky, and make potions which is suprisinly fun but thats all the game is, it is worth renting because u do get like three hrs of fun out of it but not alot to do after that

I'm a huge fan of the other five harry potter games. All of the other games were great because they let you actually explore hogwarts and the surrounding grounds. I expect the same from the half blood prince. I expect the programmers and testers are hard at work with this sixth and second to last installment of harry, ron and hermionie. And I can only hope that the graphics, gameplay, plot and story are as good as the other five games. That's all for now.
