▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (GRAW) is the third installment in the popular Ghost Recon tactical shooter video game series, published by Ubisoft in 2006. As in previous Ghost Recon games, players command their team of Ghosts while neutralizing hostile forces and completing various mission objectives. These objectives can range from escorting friendly units across the map to rescuing hostages or taking out enemy artillery.
Being a tactical shooter, Advanced Warfighter places emphasis on using cover effectively in order to stay alive, together with sound strategic co-ordination to successfully complete mission objectives.

Rated 7 out of 10 by RPG.SHOOTER.FIGHTER. Technically hard but still very enjoyable
i bought this about a year or two years ago when it first came out and i was expecting the average ghost recon but what i got was infact a more complicated but at the same time enjoyable game. first of all i would not suggest this game to anybody thats looking for a simple shooting game and is looking for a easy game to beat, this game is very hard at times and can take several trys to find out what to do at certain parts because it is almost like you are in the action in my opinion. I have played a lot of shooters and i am a huge gamer, this is by far not the best shooter of all time, but at the same time is no where near the worst shooter of all time, and if i had to give this game i rating i would rate it at an overall 7.9 out of 10. if you are looking for a complicated shooting game that is also going to take strategy and thinking then you are in for a great suprise! if you are looking for something among the lines of an easier shooter with less complication. i would suggest call of duty 3, call of duty 4.
Rated 1 out of 10 by cts2010 POOR!
I got this game because it looked halfway decent graphic wise, and I was looking for a game that was as good as other Ghost Recon Games... I was sadly mistaken when I purchased this game. Overall it seems okay, but when u really look at it, the gameplay is quite poor. The controls and storyline are really confusing, and the whole team control thing isn't that fun either. There are way too many controls for very little objectives, it should not be a hit and miss process of pushing button after button to change the firing type from single shot, to automatic... overall I wouldn't recommend this game for even the most advanced "shooter" game experts. It was very poor in my books. It was way too confusing for an average gamer. Others may have a different opinion, but I would never recommend this game to anyone, nor will I purchase another Ghost Recon game. This has just sickened me on the whole game line.
Rated 8 out of 10 by da macster WAY better than i expected
I thought that when I bought this game that it was just going to be a decent game......it was way better than a decent game the graphics are good and the sounds are great! It was pretty challenging but if someone was a really intense gamer than it would probably take them about 2-3 days. I am one of those non-intense gamers and it took me about 8-9 days. This game is fun and it does a really good job of sucking you into the game......at least for me it did........the weapons are cool and the controls are a little confusing but you will get used to them. There are a few levels that seem impossible and it probably took me a few hundred times to win but hey isn't that the point of video games? The only bad part about this game is that it can get pretty boring after about the 2nd time you beat it but other than that it is a awesome game!

I just bought this at Gamestop yesterday, and my friend came over and we played together and it was so awesome! I haven't done the campaign yet, but hopefully it will be good. I don't have an HDTV yet (but I'll get one soon) but the graphics were pretty awesome even for nonHD. the controls are kinda frustrating sometimes, cause when you're in combat and wanna throw a grenade, you have to hold down b, and press up or down on the directional buttons, and in that time you might get killed. But this is still a great buy. It is probably the best $10 I've ever spent in my life. so buy this cause it is awesome. and in instant action, the characters kinda look like the guys in gears of war. I just got my xbox 360 so kung fu panda & lego indiana jones got boring quick. so i had to get something to hold me until I get my HDTV.
Rated 9 out of 10 by Gamerwiz Very Good, but unequal to it's sequels
It is VERY boring at the beginning of campaign, so if you skip training and keep playing for three days, it should get interesting. In this deserted town, the goal is to shoot all the bad guys and get to the next location. Your squad is EXTREMELY STUPID, and they cross through the line of fire when you order a regroup. You will have to heal them a lot. When you shoot them, then heal them, they actually THANK you!!!!! Multiplayer is very fun. You can do online, but co-op split screen is better. You can choose between 1 and infinite respawns and low, medium, and high density of enemies. All in all, this game is very good. But, of course, it's sequels are better. But the $3 price tag for this, the $6 price tag for GRAW2, and the $50-$60 tag for Future Soldier makes it clear that this deal is greatly worth it.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Tyranadin A Challenge that is also fun
I haven't played any of the previous Ghost Recon games for a long time, but this one more than makes up for it. It is a rollercoaster from beginning to end and for those willing to put time into it, it can quickly become one of their favorite shooters. That being said the game is hard, but it is not impossible. It is not for the casual "Halo" style of shooter fan but more for the "take your time and make your shots count" style of player. This only makes sense as you are playing American special forces, who do not run amok everywhere spraying the landscape with ammunition in order to hit a single enemy. It is true that you have a lot of commands and tools to use, but each one is useful, there is not fluff that you can do without. Just take the time to get use to them and the controls will be your friend. And for those who think there is no story here, this is modern combat, not a Broadway musical. You want a deep engaging story? Read a book, this is a game from the prospective of a single soldier. A single soldier is not going to know the entire picture of the conflict while fighting. What you know is limited by the next corner, just like in reality. All in all a great game.
Rated 1 out of 10 by Boosh007 What do you mean, "No Can Do?!"
The game is, at best, hum-drum. The controls are so confusing, half the time you commit suicide by wrong button. I didn't make it past the tutorial, before I took the disc out and put in a draw, never to be touched again. "To shoot your enemy you must;"
a. Run into a wall.
b. Stick to the wall.
c. Peer around the wall.
d. Line up your targets.
e. Make sure your squad in nice and comfy behind cover.
f. Repeat a through d.
g. You may fire...Oops, the enemy shot you with one bullet. Please start again.
If that isn't bad enough, I get talked back to by the squad of Moe, Larry and Curly, with phrases like; "No can do." or "Try another command, see if I follow that one."
I would only recommend this game, if you had a table with a short leg and you needed something to tuck under it to sturdy it.

Over the years, Ghost Recon games have changed drastically. From the original Ghost Recon to Ghost Recon 2, it seems nothing stayed the same but the title. However, each game was good in its own areas. Ghost Recon had an amazing assortment of personnel and weaponry, while Ghost Recon 2 had amazing graphics and interface for its day. This game continues with the same trend. While many of the same characters remain, everything is different. New weapons, new interface, new tactics. If you're expecting the game to be the same kind you used to play on the Xbox, you'll be surprised by the changes but this will get you hooked forever. An assortment of weapons is available, but you are only able to change/swap them out at certain times. And even when you can, not all the weapons are available to you. I found myself time and again picking up the same old 36K rifle dropped by almost every single target. And while that became annoying fast, the gameplay was simply addicting. The game can get tricking and difficult at times, but invincibility cheats are available online if you get stuck on a particular level. So if you're looking for the same old Ghost Recon game, you may be surprised when you sit down with this game, but it will not dissapoint you.
