Game Party: In Motion
Gerenal flaws, but ok
This game suffers from most of the same issues all Kinect games do at this point, but if you have become use to the Kinect and know how to power through those issues then this game is actually rather fun.
The biggest issue I've found though is the "OK" button. You have to put you right hand at waist level and hold it there, but it seems that every time you have to do this it thinks your waist is somewhere else or halfway through the hold process it changes its mind. This can get really frustrating. They should have just used the mouse like pointer hand that most other Kinect games do.
The other issue is that if you are playing with anyone else it needs to see both players all the time and sometimes gets confused as to who each player is. Other games are much better at handling this and I wish they'd release an update to fix some of these issues.
Aside from those two things the game is fun and I like the variety of games built in. Buying it used or on discount would probably be better if you can find it that way. $30 would be fine to pay, but $40 is stretching it.
Patient achievement hounds only!!!
Terribly unresponsive menus that like to randomly do their own thing despite what you're trying to tell it to do. Extremely annoying multiplayer b/c both players have to stand in front of the camera at all times or the game pauses, sitting will just send the game into fits of spamming the "go back" and "ready" buttons. Terrible toss/pass/throw recognition leaves the item in your hand 80% of the time. The aiming system for pool/darts is awkward at best. The setting for the game is probably the "best" feature and it's basically just the xbox live arcade game room on a disc... glitchy achievements and random profile signouts add to the frustration for this game.. ONLY TRY IF YOU REALLY can't think of another game to boost your achievement score with.
Just Ok (local) Party game
Definately not as refined as Kintect Sports but this is a whole different set of games. The games are more casual and less tiring. This game appears to be more for local party play (local multiplayer) and easy enough for children. I have not found XBL support (On-line Multiplayer, leader boards etc). Compared to other KInect Launch titles; the accuracy of Game Party: In Motion is just ok. Your avatar can get glitchy at times and the ball can get stuck in your hands but still it is fun to challenge the In-laws to a quick game of Darts, Bocce Ball or pool from time to time. Rent it first to see if this might be a good "cool down" game for after you have wore yourself out from all the exercise intense games that we are currently playing.
Very frustrating game and very disappointed
This game is good and bad but mainly bad. It had a few games I liked. It is very frustrating for two reasons: the navigation is difficult because it speeds passed things or randomly clicks the check button, and the second is that both players have to stand so close together otherwise it pauses. The space for it to recognize you is only so big so it is uncomfortable being that close while trying to play. The pool is beyond awful, as well as bocca ball (or whatever it's called), and so is the darts. The bean bag toss, racquet ball, and a few others are fun. I would not recommend this game to anyone and the only reason we are keeping it is the bc the few games my bf likes.
worst Kinect game!!
i bought this game hoping to add another party game to my Kinect collection, but this game is horrible. the game barely recognized my movements and sometimes was just completely wrong. the game is very glitchy and needs work, for example; in the basketball mini game i move my arm in a shooting motion and the ball just sticks in my hands!! same for the quarterback mini game and the darts game as well. other games were just impossible to win against the computer. the only fun mini games were horseshoes, rootbeer tapper and double raquetball. bottom line is i took the game back to the store and would recommend renting the game instead of buying
horrible game or brilliant?
@ first i thought this was just a bunch of easy party games, but its not! its meant for true hardcore gamers, as tue real objective of the game is simply trying to control it. With no virtual hand or mouse on the screeen, enjoy hours of fun with your little ones as you simply try to just do anything on screen. Can you hit the accept button via kinnnect in under 5minutes? but wait theres more, 2nd player adds to the fun as random movements hit the back button, etc. why would they not include some type of cursor or hand to asssist in selecting menus? once u master that, look forward to minutes of boring, simplistic games!
Worse Kinect game ive played this far...
I picked it up because it was on sale for 30$, I figured how bad could it be... lol pretty bad was the answer, The response is really bad. I tried a few different games and they seemed imposable to be even adjust to. On a lot of the 3rd party games you can adjust to the delay on this on it just wasn't reading my movements right at all. Its such a great technology i really cant wait to see what people can do with it once they learn it better. Get Kinect sports for a great party game.
Don't Waste Your Time or Money!
We were sorely disappointed in this game. It's not the Kinect that has an issue but the software on this game. It just doesn't function well. After 5 children and 2 adults giving it a try we all decided we hated this game. We love these type of games but the software just would not work well enough to have enjoyable and functional game play. I am sure glad that Game Stop has the 7 day policy. We drove our copy back to the store on the same day and got a refund.
ITS OK REALLY IT ISN'T THE WORST
It is true that once you first try this game you will hate it. I will say this.... if you have any sort of patience or skill you will figure out this game. I see all these reviews about how it does not work, and I do agree that in the beginning it didnt seem to work and that it is no where near perfect but trust me, it is not the worst game! Take some time to figure it out! Be smooth when you play don't force it, thats my tip.
Even checking boxes is so difficult that you could literally spend 3 to 5 minutes just trying to get your hand into the right position to check a box off. Extremely frustrating... especially when I'm trying to get my 4 and 6 year old kids more active. They don't have the patience to stick their right arm out and down at exactly the precise angel 92 times before the dumb game recognizes that they are trying to check off a box. Ugh!
