Rated 4 out of 5 by from Everyone should at least give this a try Okay. here's the thing, this Final Fantasy title somewhat feels as if it different from all the rest. At first when I played this, I thought to myself: "This isn't Final Fantasy!" And I shuddered at the thought of having to use the battle system it offered. But have patience, and really just accept its uniqueness. Because you will not be sorry. The battle system--does not take too long to get use to, and though the story may be lacking, it offers its good points too. My opinion? Anyone should give this a try, even the ones who are not familiar with Final Fantasy titles. It has action, a few good and interesting characters, beautiful landscapes, and a really fun battle system. My only complaints--it is a bit linear, and the plot feels as if it missing something. However you can look past these and enjoy the game overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Game As a long-time Final Fantasy fan, I actually very much enjoyed FFXIII. It doesn't deserve the hate it gets from other Final Fantasy fans. The storyline was amazing. The characters were very well developed. Its biggest issue is its linearity. While it does help focus on the story, it takes away the feeling that Final Fantasy usually had. Despite that, it still was a really solid game. It still felt like a Final Fantasy game, but it was a little different from the older Final Fantasy games (which made sense because Final Fantasy fans were wanting something different when XII came out; then they wanted to complain about the fact that XIII was different from the older ones). If you want a game that's consistently good and fun throughout, I really suggest Final Fantasy XIII. Don't listen to the hate it gets from other Final Fantasy fans. This old school Final Fantasy fan enjoyed it very much, and it may go down as one of my favorites from the series (behind VII & X).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 13 maybe one of the best.... This game gave me chills from head to toe. At times i may have gotten a bit frustrated at time like during the battle with odin for my first time, but i was enveloped in the story, this game is slightly flawed but all those flaws are covered up by the beauty!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Way too easy to be fun. A pattern developed early that dictates the whole game-play. First you run your character into a group of enemies. The game takes over and squares you off. Now using, "Auto-Battle" you wait for the blue line to grow, then you hit the button, causing your character to lunge out and take two swings of their weapon, before jumping back in retreat. While you wait for the blue line to grow again, your enemy takes his turn upon you. Back and forth until you either kill the enemy or they knock you out. yeah that's fun. Game-play is slow, easy, but slow. I lost interest and consciousness ten minutes in. I would recommend this game to an eight year, but he'd probably think me stupid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but... The games battle system starts super slow to the point where i was mad i got the game but if you power through the first hour or so it becomes more complex and you get to power up your character. Im on the 3rd and final disk here but it never gets too repetitive that you wont want to play the game at all but there are some points were i found myself dodging the game and when i came back to it it felt better than last time. The characters all are really real and i felt their struggles. The sound track...is the BEST especially the battle music. All in all the game is a great buy for only 10 bucks but i will warn you watch gameplay first the combat may not suit all you fast paced action fiends but for everyone else its pretty fun and keeps you interested for the 40-45 hour campaign.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Final Fantasy in a different direction. This game visually is gorgeous! The enviroments are gorgeous and the music SquareEnix accompines with the atmosphere is perfect of course comming from SquareEnix. Though the tradition within the game isnt, necciarily perfect, though at the same time it isnt terrible eaither. If your familiar with the Final Fantasy series referring to 10 and back, then this Final Fantasy breaks alot of those concepts from those games quite obviously. It deviates from a large open world able to be explored quite obviously which to hardcore fans of the series can be a easy turn off! Though it still offers a unique storytelling that the series is also known for! The battle system within the game is also quite addictive hands down being an active battle system allowing you to effortlesly switch between "classes" with a button press. Though there is one thing this battlesystem also does that i dislike; the battle system adds a Auto-Battle option. This easily removes most stratigic elements from the game leaving you to simply watch the battle take place as you character performs attacks approtie for the oppenent(s) and situation. Though at the end of the day, Final Fantasy 13 is a beautiful game and a great RPG experience that only true Hardcore fans could actually get into.
