Field and Stream: Total Outdoorsman Challenge
As an avid outdoorsman and video game player i find it extremely frustrating that these "hunting/fishing" games are so often a let down to the consumer. With todays standards of visual beauty, excelent gamplay, and wonderful written story lines why is it that this genre is so obviously lacking? Have you ever read a good review or seen a good score for any of the many "outdoors" games on the market? Why is it that none of the large developers will take on a hunting game? Is it because of the killing of animals? Why then reward me for "murder" in a millitary based game? Don`t get me wrong I love FPS`s as much as the next person, I just feel robbed of what I think can be a wonderful experience on my console that is often left to be made by an underdog company. On the other hand, cheers to the small developers of these games for sticking to their 'guns' , I just wish someone could get you more financial backing like so many others in the business.
They need to make the hunting games like before, where you can pick everything you want your hunter to have,to wear, and the tags. The mini games arnt a whole lot of fun after a while and the free roaming is a huuuge part in hunting games. Having to find your animals is way better then following a for sure path that takes you to them. If it was like the old ways but had enhancements with graphic and control it would be a 5 out of 5 if not that then forsure a 4.
Worst Hunting Game Ever Made !!!!
The graphics are like that of a Nintendo 64. Its a nightmare.
it is a game to play somethimes and only sometimes
its a average game fun to play when your bored but it gets old to fast and if you are obsessed with graphics just dont get it
Just dont know
Cabelas had a great game for the PS2, dangerous hunts, as it was an open world with different challenges, you could choose your loadout, buy your tags, and go hunt what you wanted to with what you wanted to. It wasnt linear like everything that comes out today. I miss that and while this looks somewhat promising, I feel that there have been too many letdowns for me to purchase another hunting game untill a review comes out for it. Heres to hopeing that they learn from the arcade style mistakes and make a game worthwhile for once.
DO NOT GET THIS GAME
I played the demo and it was the most horrible video game i have played on an xbox 360. It was running so slow. the graphics were horrible and the Frames per second was at least 5-8. That is not worth it at all. If you get this game then youre going to hate yourself. This is the first time i have played a horrible xbox360 game. It literally made me want to call the devs and tell them what is this crap?
I also played the demo...it was pretty bad...the only good hunting game i have ever played was the original Cabela's Dangerous Hunts for the Xbox original.
DO NOT i repeat DO NOT buy this game, i played the demo and it is literally the worst game i have ever played in my entire life, and not because it's hunting, because i like hunting games. everything about it is simply awful, the graphics are n64 worthy, the game lags non stop, the ai behavior is just terrible, deer aren't afraid of you and everything glitches out all the time you can't read the writing on the main menu because it is rediculously tiny, the sound is just awful you aim on an axis, meaning you can look up down left and right and barely diagonal instead of having boundaries to the map, it just ENDS, the world is a box in this game. every single thing about this game deserves a 1/10
This game is horrible. I highly suggest that you dont buy it. It lags, bad graphics, can't read anything because it is to small. You can literally walk right up to the animals and they don't do anything. When you pull the trigger on your controller, it shoots about 3 seconds later which may not seem very long, but when your trying to make a perfect shot it seems really late. Your cross hairs are exactly the whether you zoom in or not. I usually like hunting games but this is just horrifyingly stupid in every possible way.
I started the demo for this game and couldn't get past 2 minutes of playing it. The grass graphics were the equivalent of a weather radar map, different shades of green blobs. Then there were the hint popups that were annoying and only applied to someone in 2nd grade. I think anyone that would even play this game would know that nocturnal animals are most likely seen at night and that rifles are better when using a scope. I wouldn't even take this game if it were a gift.
