Great game!
I love Far Cry, and this is a great edition. Sadly I could't quite get into it because Far Cry 3 was so much better. Pros first, great story, awesome graphics, very realistic, and engaging in some weird way. Now there are two minor cons, no level up which would have been great, and not incredibly great voice acting, but that's just me comparing it to FC3. Multiplayer is also very good. A great game overall, 8.5/10.

Not at all like Far Cry
If you are looking for what you got out of the first Far Cry you are going to be let down. I found the Aim sensitivity to be very slow even after adjusted to the max, Unnecessarily hard , Stupid exploring for diamonds, annoying double fist map system. I see a lot of people say they enjoy the realism. That may be one of the only Pro's if there is any . I do not recommend this game .

New Vegas meets Call of Duty
This game is well worth the money. It has the open worldness similar to New Vegas but the gameplay of Call of Duty. Playing Multiplayer is similar to Call of Duty too. Plus, the graphics are really good at the time. Well thought out stroy line, though kinda standard but well planned.

Still amongst the best in its field
I have a habit of buying games and playing the first day then not having time to play further. With part 3 soon to be releases I had to make time, after 20 hours its worth it. While the overall graphic scheme isn't a 10...you cant beat the fire effects and the amazing physics/science that go into such things. The storyline and missions are fluid and the gameplay is engaging. After being out a few years I can't really complain, but unfortunately the fun online multiplayer has shown no player activity for me the few times I tried. Pick this up as a bargain gateway to the next sequel.

Not Your Average Shooter
Far Cry 2 is a shooter that gives you freedom of choice and free gameplay. You can tackle missions in all of the ways that you want, and this is what makes this shooter so unique. The game gives you a large open world that you can explore. It is very original and I doubt that anyone has ever played a game quite like this. This game is very lengthy, at about twenty or so hours. There are collectibles throughout this big game, but I didn't pay much attention to them. Oh, one more thing. This game is extremely realistic. You have to dig bullets out of your body, enemies lose track of you when you hide behind bushes, and fire fight will go on as long as they have to. A big complaint that I have, is that the game gets really repetitive due to lack of enemy variety and weapons. That is why I moved this game down on the scale. Also, enemies aren't very smart, for you can shoot them and they won't even react. Far Cry 2 is also light on story. Overall, this is a game for patient players.

Amazing,for it's time,and now.
Gameplay:The gameplay is all-around amazing. For singleplayer, there are many ways to go about each mission,a long storyline, side quests and amazing AI.The free roam itself is incredible, collectibles around the world, gaurd posts, safe houses etc.Different approaches make the game replayable for a very long time. From scouting a camp, ambushing convoys, attacking a base with mortars,Infiltrating a gaurd post to simply sitting back and sniping.Enemies will become critically wounded, and if you hide for a while near their base, survivors will runout and help their allies by dragging them to shelter, and giving them medical treatment.Fire adds a new approach to the game, and if you screw up,the people you meet in the game will come and rescue you.Instead of restarting from a checkpoint, your ally will drag you to safety, heal you and you are back in the action, however this can't be done so often to keep it balanced. On occassion, your allies will go down. The choice is yours to :attempt to save them, abandon them,or put them out of their misery. The charachters are likeable,so you will always bee on the edge of your seat trying to save them. Multiplayer:Fun and balanced. What you would expect, apart from healing yourself by pulling steel bars from your chest, popping bones back into place,or sterilizing the wound by shoving hot matches into it.Many approaches to multiplayer, with fun ctf, tdm,dm,and uprising gamemodes.Teamwork is not nessescary, but helpful, and there are many humorous moments such as strapping a bomb to a car, driving it into a bunch of enemies and detonating it.The game sports many environments such as:Jungles, deserts, savannahs, cities, fishing villages, oceanic combat in boats/ships,and african towns, and you can easily use fire to your advantage in most of these environments, strategically,or simply for fun,not to mention it transforms the battlefield.Vehicular combat also plays a big role being a cherry on top. Sound:Just as impressive as the rest of the game.It beats any modern game other than BF3,for such an old game, this is an amazing feat. Graphics:Better than you would expect for it's time. Many buildings can be destroyed, and the game looks about as good as CoD,more cartoonish, but higher quality. Replay Value:From the endless campaign options to the multiplayer level editor that allows you to create anything (Not to mention my 7 Year old neice can use it.) from cqb to sniping battles, and anywhere inbetween. Here is the best part:You don't have to use your maps in private matches like halo, you can host a public player match.:D The map editor is purely amazing (and my favorite feature.). It has entertained me from release date until now,and won't stop anytime soon. Overall:10/10(For ten bucks, entirely worth it.)

Great Game
I bought Far Cry 2 this morning and have been playing it non stop all day. The game is very good, the graphics are great, the guns are more realistic because of their ability to get dirty, jammed, and fall into disrepair. The story is simple you have to find an arms dealer by tracking him down in a war-torn African country by making friends and doing missions for random contacts. Their aren't many vehicles there's the Jeep Wrangler and another model, another make of car, and the truck with mounted gun. There's also the bus which is used for fast travel across the map and located at specific points throughout the country. However their are a few frustrating things like, the enemies will gang up on you with shotguns, the healing animations take nine years, there is no autosave feature, and the voice acting isn't that great. Other than that the game is worth the 9 or 10 dollars. I would recomend this game to fans of open world and shooter games. If you are a fan of one or both genres this is a game you should definatly check out, and if you buy it and like it you should know there is a Far Cry 3 coming out soon. I would also like to mention the single player story is about 25 hours worth of gameplay so you should be occupied for a looong time. So that's it, overall a great game and worth the money.

Not as good as it seems
I was pumped to get this game but when i got into the single player it failed. The controls are to stiff even with sensetivity all the way up, voice acting isnt all that great and the only thing you run into even in the beginning of the game is militia. The multiplayer isnt bad but its full of campers. Im a huge fan of open world game like fallout, oblivion, skyrim, you name it but this game was terrible and would not buy it again. I hope far cry 3 lives up and is better.
