This game should rock, especially coming from Code Masters, wouldn't you think ?
WOW, is all I could say within ten minutes of gameplay, and then came the "I want this game!" (as I'm currently renting it). The graphics are truly spectacular, realistic tracks, scenes around the tracks, real-time weather, official drivers and teams, this game has it all and put you behind the wheel of a F1 car. From research and development to sponsors to your name in being a F1 driver there is nothing you can't do on this game! Codemasters did an excellent job in this game. There is a multiplayer but, I haven't had a chance to check it out, so I don't know what to expect or how big the community is, so I can not make a statement on it. Although, the single player mode I would say can make up for it if it were bad! Granted I do not see the multiplayer mode being bad considering the game is amazing in all aspects of it. Great for child to adult gamers, for anyone who likes racing games, I can safely say this GAME IS FOR YOU! If you like this game a little heads up F1: 2011 is coming out 9-20-11 so expect to see this title and it should be even better!
Legit Racing Game! Must buy!!
I am new to the whole F1 scene since I live in the states, but after watching some gameplay videos and reading on forums I went out and got the game. I am 100% glad that I did. Only down side to this game would be a minor small bugs, such as AI cars not doing a pit stop with Fuel sim on. But beside the small things, the online game modes are amazing. Sprint Mode is a quick 3 lap race and very good way to learn tracks and how people play. The Penalty system in this game is awesome compared to Forza 3's horrible rules where anyone can just smash you and get no kind of repercussion for their actions. In this game you smash people you will get a Time Penalty or a Black Flag DSQ. If you are looking for a true racing game this is the one to play!
This will definately be on my list of games to get this year. There has been a serious void of true racing games in the market. Yea i know you have your Forza but now we have true racing machines with drivers we actually know. If they do it right, it will be the most competitive racing game on the 360. So far it looks really promising. Too bad they don't have refueling in F1 anymore, but with pit stops, tire wear, wing changes, and real damage that can end your entire race in the first lap, there is still a lot of strategy to consider. If they throw in attrition on the engines this would be an amazing game.
I didnt expect much from this, but I bought it anyway because Im an F1 fanatic and I own every F1 title released since the original Play Station. With this I was immediatly hooked, the graphics and sound are as real as it gets. But this is a careeer based game, not like previous titles where you pick your favorite driver and race as him in this game you are you. You have to start off driving for one of the bottom feeder teams and build your reputation up before you get the call from Marinello. The only flaws in this game are the flaws in general currently in F1, no refueling, no USGP etc. But you may want to consider the force feedback wheel because shifting with the X and A buttons, accelerating and braking with the right and left trigger, and steering with the knobs all at once in Monaco or Singapor can get a little chaotic. I just hope that this is not the last, for those of you keeping score at home this is the first console based F1 title released in the U.S. since "Formula One" was released as PS3 (exclusive) launch title and it was outdated by a year when it came out. So lets all hope that F1: 2011 with hit U.S. retailers next year.
first impressions: this game rocks!
Just picked this up yesterday. This game definitely has the feel of F1. It starts you off in a press conference announcing your arrival to F1 and has you hooked at the outset. The sound and the graphics are awesome (like the real thing). There are multiple driving assists to help beginners enjoy the racing experience straight off. Or, switch everything to manual controls if you enjoy the physics and technical aspects of the sport. Again, only 1 day into Career Mode, but I know this will be a fun one for sometime to come.
Career mode just doesn't cut it
After being a fan of Formula 1 for many years, the news of this game made me extremely happy. I closely followed the development and bought this as soon as I found it in-store. This game is a magnificent display of what a Formula 1 game can and should look like. It has everything apart from lasting appeal.
The natural way to play this game is through career mode, where you can play 3, 5, or 7 seasons. The first season is great, where you have to learn every new track and battle for positions. However, once you reach the second season, you will have no trouble beating the AI even on the highest difficulty settings. The challenge will be gone and the game will get repetitive.
I enjoyed this game extremely much, but only for about a week. I am now considering selling this game and buy something else.
All in all, this game starts out promising but ends in disappointment.
Since a boy growing up in Germany, I have always loved Formula1. I love racing games on the Xbox but there wasn't any Formula1 games. The closest was always Forza. Its good and all but thats more general racing. Besides, even the best cars modified even, couldn't compare to a F1 car... It's about time they add a good racing title that's not one that is very general. All and all, the game should be good if you like high-speed racing.
next gen racing
the weather effects on this from the pre-release video clips look very impressive. I think this could be come the benchmark for future racing titles and even give Forza 3 a run for best racing game.
Solid game, very addictive.
CODEMASTERS always delivers a solid race game and there is no exception with F1 2010. The graphics are tight, but nothing extraordinary, they keep it as realistic as possible. The sound is perfect it sounds just like formula1 cars racing at high speeds. The physics is what makes this game great and different than any other game out, which it should be this is the only true F1 sim out there. Now the lasting appeal is what kills this game. This game is very true to life and has all the F1 tracks and cars in the game from real F1 racing. Thats roughly about 18-19 tracks and basically no car customization. I didnt really mind though because when racing online everyone basically has identical cars except for slight adjustments you can make like gear ratio and braking. Overall its a great game with great online, but after awhile it can get boring over a few weeks when the original thrill is gone. Still a very solid game.
