Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game Of The Year Edition
fantastic non hardcore role playing
i have this game for a few weeks now and i tell ya it's awesome. there are many side quests which is hard at some times especially the nirnroot part but it is fun to explore the world of Septim. the difficulty can change to a very easy level and is a very anticipated game for any role playing fans
5 yr old game still amazing.
Graphics aside, the sheer freedom of gameplay is still the best to date. I just started my first playthrough this week, and I am sure I will be playing it well into the winter.Yes, the graphics compared to many current games suffer greatly, but It becomes largely forgivable for the sheer feeling that you are in a vast open world, and anything goes. The character graphics that is, in my opinion, the background and landscape detail is quite well done. Many current games put detail into the characters, and leave a bland backdrop.I planned to pickup the latest installment of the series, but decided to pick up this one first. I am not disappointed in my decision. The ability to customize your hero is virtually limitless. If you like RPGs dont pass this one up.
Still the best game that i have ever played.
Apart from skyrim being the best game of 2011. The elder Scrolls Oblivion is still a wonderful and enjoyable game of one of the greatest rpgs that has ever came out. Im a person that mostly ejoyns FPS's but i have to say i would rather play the elder scrolls series instead of cod or the battlefield series....This game and skyrim will always be the games closer to my heart. Some people gave this game a lower score which i dont see why cough cough fps fanboys.
Are you kidding me?
$20 for the GOTY edition of Oblivion? If for whatever reason you don't have this, BUY IT NOW. And for you collectors out there, smack on another $10 and you get this one: http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/games/elder-scrolls-iv-oblivion-5th-anniversary-edition/91249 . Anyway, Oblivion was a great game, amazing graphics, sound was good, gameplay was very good. Not to mention, for only $20, it's some 300+ hours of gameplay, that for me, never really got tiring. The only thing that might get you is replayability, as it has no multiplayer, but the price for the original play-through is well worth it, and I'm sure many of you would enjoy playing through again, especially hardcore RPG-ers. Anyway, well worth the price, get it now.
a great game
this game is great, it can get annoying at times with the level system, but once you have the hang of it, magic and other asspects of the game become very easy, the the dlc is great, and the quests and map can devert you away from the main quest completly, and with having your own followers, house, and customized character, make the game worth every bit.
Best RPG ever made
Oblivion in my opinion is the best rpg game made so far. The storyline mixed with the different guilds and side quests lets players like me experience a long lasting game that will be entertaining throughout. My favorite part about Oblivion is that you can craft items once you get a high enough rank in the mage guild!
10 out of 10
Perfect of any lover of RPG.
I know this game is "old" and skyrim is already out but I thought I would write a quick review of it. Oblivion is amazing, and the quests really draw you in. I've been playing the past two weeks and constantly have I thought about buying the PC edition. The graphics are perfect and the quests just keep coming! You think you beat the game? Check again, dear brother. Need help with a quest? Ask a hobo in the game! They know all. I've only ever experienced 1 glitch on the Xbox 360 edition and it was only because I ran around looking for a flaw. As long as you save you'll be okay! Good Game. 10/10!
Tried it out to see if I should get Skyrim
I started playing Oblivion because I everyone said that Skyrim is amazing and I should get it. At first I didnt think I had the patience to play this game but once I got out of the sewers I could not stop. There is so much to explore and so many quests to conquer. The game is worth the buy if you can get over the outdated graphics. The game can get addicting and if played enough you can get up to 300 hours. There is basically too many quests to finish.
Put aside a LOT of time for this one...
Massive game! Just when you think you're done, another quest pops up. Huge map to explore, lots of enemies to fight and loot to win. Beautiful scenery. Highly customizable characters with plenty of skills to play with. Decent controls, but a bit iffy going from 1st person to 3rd person view. Main story is pretty good, but the side quests (especially the guild quests) are where the real fun begins. Game of the Year edition has two big expansions that add even more insanity to an already busy game. You can't beat the price!
A game not to be Forgotten
If you haven't played Oblivion by now then there is no way you can call yourself a gamer. Oblivion has great qualities but also a some weaknesses. The game play itself I find amazing, there are numerous quests that you can do to earn gold, xp, or special items, and if you don't feel like doing them then you don't have to. The problem with it is that if you just ignore the main storyline the whole time and do side quests and quests for the guilds, then when those are all done then you go back to the story it seems like the story quests can drag on. The graphics are beautiful, the landscape armor and other items look amazing , but for the NPC's it seems like you see the same face a lot, and the non human races don't really look as 'exotic' as they could. The music and sound effect are great, but when it comes to the NPC voices it seems like you hear the same voice a lot. There is just so much to do in the game, and it is fun to play through multiple times and do different things, be a powerful mage, or a dangerous warrior. Anyway you look at it this game is amazing and should be remembered, if you haven't played this game then I suggest you pick it up soon, or maybe you would just like to wait and get Skyrim, either way The Elder Scroll games should continue to keep going and improving.
